I know preferences have been discussed, debated, and flamed before. But why not again for the sake of bragging rights and my post count, eh?

Though Swordmasters are my favorite class (Since I haven't gotten around to playing Radiant Dawn farther than the first few chapters, yet), Falcoknights come in a close second.
This may be due to my consistent good luck with those units. Thany, Florina, Fee, Fury, and Marcia all turned out excellently for me, time and time again. 3nodding
I prefer units that have high evasion scores, good enough luck to crank out criticals consistently, and enough attack to take advantage of them. Defenses are something I don't particularly care about for those units. 3nodding
That makes Rebecca among them, but she's the only Sniper I'd put in the aforementioned category.
For those who've played the earlier Fire Emblems, I also love the Thief Fighter and Master Knight classes. >3

KuraiKitty Any reasons behind your choices, Rubedo? surprised
-Is always intrigued by reasoning- If I was a typicial n00b, I would have give off a bs reason. But I'm not, so here goes. First reason is they fit me like a glove, even though bows are not guns. Second is both are not affected by the Triangle System, even thought most experts would make it worthless. Third is a sense of building up underdogs since I do enjoy the thrill of turning underdogs to meat eating agents of death. But you're going to smack me for this, but I'll be Seraph to explain myself on the Myrmidon branch paths. But it's going to be close to the same answer.

Nonono, I wouldn't smack you for an opinion! o.o Heavens, no.
I just enjoy hearing why people like what they like. 3nodding A quirk, really.
Excellent reasons, by the way. :p
Edit: Oh, woah! o.o Forgot you were the same person. My bad.

Edit: Oh, woah! o.o Forgot you were the same person. My bad. I thought someone would understand. But I have to express a dislike here: Axemen. Specially Boyd for the headaches he caused earlier on at PoR with his poor defense. As for the same person, can't have a little red without a little blue, eh?

Sages (that aren't named Ewan or Nino or Lilina), with Valkyries as a close second (or Mage Knights in the case of FE cool !
The key word is adaptability: -The constant 1-2 range alone makes them usable for almost any tactical situation or playing style (and they rarely have to worry about counter attacks on your turn). This also means they'll never be attacked without being able to attack back (unless you factor Longbows, which are very rare). -Access to staves makes them even further flexible with what they can do to benefit your team, gives them access to another source of exp., and obviously helps keep your team alive. -They attack Resistance, the weaker of the two defensive stats for the far greater majority of enemies you face for easy kills, and also have enough Resistance themselves to attack magic units without fear (and can still usually kill them) -Anima magic has the advantages of being the cheapest of the three tome types, having the least weight, and still being relatively powerful (especially compared to Light magic being more expensive, weighing more and being weaker - while Dark magic is even further expensive and heavy).
Besides, blowing people up sounds much more fun that slashing them in two! And not to be cliche, but the concept of brains over brawns is one that I endorse, particularly in a strategy game for which you need a brain to begin with. If I were ever to become a Fire Emblem class, I'd eventually become a Sage (assuming I started as a Mage).

Id go with the: Soldier-Halberdier-Sentinel, Tree. Seeing Lances are just my favourite weapon even if they are in the Weapon Triangle and look at Nephenee and Aran (For those of you who have played PoR and RD) They're killing machines and have pretty good critical rates.

Hm... I'm very indecisive. Myrmidons/Swordmasters, Nomad/Nomadic Trooper, Shaman/Druid, and Soldier/Halberdier/Sentinel.
Myrmidon/Swordmaster: I really like the fact of how fast they are. Plus, this is a lame reason, but I like their sprites. o_o
Nomad/Nomadic Trooper: ... I don't really know why. I just like them. n_n;;; No particular reason.
Shaman/Druid: I like dark magic.
Soldier/Halberdier/Sentinel: ... Well, I haven't played enough PoR and RD to actually have Nephenee or Aran, but I've heard very good things about them from my brother. Also, if I could be any kind of unit, I'd probably be a Soldier.

Tough question indeed, I can easily answer which class I hate LOL. But hmmmm I guess I'd go with
Thief->Assassin/Rogue
and possibly Rogue->Whisper
I haven't played that far into RD yet but I'm planning on it, but a majority of my favorite class depends on the game, overall is a tough decision but my highest one is definlently Thief (Except Volke, for some reason he doesn't seem very appealing ot me as a thief or assassin). I'm the type of person who almost has the patience of gold, so when it comes to raising a thief type class, i want em to be good and rng abusing em is really fun for me believe it or not lol. Yes, I have that kind of patience if there is a character/class I really like xD.

Well, I've played FE 8-10, so my favorites would be in this order:
8: The high ranking mage classes, especially Saleh and Artur, for being very strong and surprisingly durable. It's a big difference when compared with the Tellius mages, who tend to be as delicate as glass. My second favorite would be the Paladins, Seth and Franz, with the Sniper Innes at third.
9: I'm really not sure, but I'll probably give the nod to the Paladins who aren't Crimean Royal Knights <_< Also, Haar and Jill are amazing and worth the nod.
10: Easily the Wyverns Haar and Jill for murderous speed and power. If I had to pick a second place, the Generals Gatrie and Brom were hugely powerful.

Eww... Don't make Franz a Paladin. Great Knight is better.
Wyvern Knights and Druids. Wyvern knights for their power and defense, while being able to move anywhere and do it fast. Druids are always powerful, having Luna and Other magic. Flux is still good throughout the game, Fire, not so much.
And you never get many of them, being that they are so good, naturally. Send out the Shamans, then have the Wyverns cover them. It's that easy.

Generals. They have so much Defense that nothing short of a nuclear warhead will pierce their thick armor. At the same time:
1) Res is high enough to prevent massive spell damage (though admittedly not status effects),
2) Speed is high enough to prevent two strikes (except against Swordmasters, who are devoured by Generals anyway),
3) Strength--Anything that isn't the final boss WILL TAKE LOTS OF DAMAGE.
Seriously, just raise Gatrie to a General sometime. He could SOLO some of the later levels. That's how powerful he is.
Next, I tip my hat to druids. Canas+Luna=Dead Nergal in two hits. >=D AND Dead Dragon, too. Sure, their tomes are heavy as heck, but they're worth every bit of speed reduction. And, of course, they can heal.
Swordmasters are also earning my respect. Though I don't think she has the best stats, Mia's perhaps my favorite Fire Emblem character, and she can still pwn almost anything she comes across (even Wyvern Knights and Generals--she gets enough magic to do some serious Sonic Sword damage). On my most recent FE7 playthrough, I used Guy, and... WOW. With a Priscilla B Support and a Matthew A, he was AWESOME.
