- Shimagakure Bar - Smack dab in the middle of the village you can find the best bar on the island...well...the only one! The bartender, Prodo, sells every kind of liquor and alcoholic beverage you could possibly imagine, as well as food. You must be 16 or older to enter the bar; there is a large sign on the front doors of the bar that reads, "NO KIDS ALLOWED" in big, blocky print. There is always someone at the door keeping tabs on who tries to get into the bar. The bar received little damage surprisingly, but it was known that it had been looted plenty of times during and after the destruction, much of it’s alcohol being taken to either be drank or sold for Rio in the devastated state of the island.
For underaged kids to sneak in: By Digsuise DC: 20 By Spy DC: 25 Owner: Maya Name: Prodo Age: 61 Sex: Male Background: Prodo was a famous brewer in the Tea Country. Even though he made an amazing cup of tea, his skills in making beer and fine wines were far more superior. Prodo lived a quiet and humble life until his vineyards, house and servants were all killed by a band of vicious bandits. They took over his vineyards and kicked him to the street. The Tea country doesn't have a very strict justice system, so Prodo was never given what rightfully belonged to him back. Instead, he was given the chance to start a new and humble life in the village of Shimagakure. Sakuran, a weapon smith, had met Prodo on her boat ride to Shimagakure and invited him along after consulting Ichi. Everyone loved Prodo's liquor and the Kage especially loved his cup of tea. Personality: Prodo doesn't talk that often, but he is a sweet old man. If you ever have a problem, he is willing to listen and perhaps lend some helpful advice, but he's mostly there to listen. Even though Shimagakure can get quite dangerous, Prodo loves the village and all its people, especially the great characters that come into his bar every night. He loves his pub, eventhough it gets knocked down and rebuilt almost every year due to brawls and attacks on the village, but Prodo doesn't mind since he's always entitled to taking care of it. Prodo loves the bar so much that he has made the basement his own little home. Skills: Prodo is friendly, though quick to detect things that are out of order. He's also good at knowing when someone's telling a tall tale at the bar, and can mix any drink known to mankind. [Teaches Charisma, Detect, Sense, and Alchemy.] Character Notes: Tategami Shuga - Prodo was a very good friend of Shuga since she was always in the bar drinking.

Prodo rubbed his stomach, leaning back against the wall of the bar. His eyes were half closed, and it almost seemed like he was sleeping standing up! Prodo, however, was well aware of everything that was going on. He debated closing down the bar temporarily - his heavy drinkers were gone overseas on a mission, so he wouldn't be doing much business until they came back. Perhaps they had some need of him at the academy. He couldn't really teach anything useful besides brewing and mixing drinks, but he could also cook and he knew his way around ropes. Prodo was large in size, which meant he couldn't be stealthy - but he knew how to rig ropes as well as the Ibazi could rig strings. He chuckled, walking outside in a leisurely manner and closing the doors, locking them tight. He sat outside, letting the man that usually sat outside go home to spend time with any family or mistresses he might have had. Sitting outside was relaxing, and though Prodo worried for the shinobi of the island, he knew they would make it back alright. At least, that's what he hoped, so he fervently believed it.
A few minutes later....
Prodo decided that he would head to the library. There were usually pretty interesting books there, and he hadn't had the chance to relax in some time. Besides that, Kurochi had seemed ill as of late, and perhaps the man would need help. No sooner had Prodo thought this than a little girl approached with a small note in his hand. Smiling, he accepted the note - yep, Kurochi needed him to take over at the library and teach a few academy students. Prodo chuckled, making mental note to take the man a good bit of hard liquor to kill the bacteria, and headed towards the library.

Prodo unlocked the bar and opened the doors, letting the rag-tag group of children into the bar. With a smile, he watched as they raced for the tall bar stools. Prodo smiled and waited to see if Shin and Kiba and Naoki would show up at all....

Kiba finally arrived at the bar. The dark eyed Raiken could see that the kids and Prodo had already arrived and wondered when everyone else might get there. He knew that he needed to get the information he needed as soon as possible, but decided it might be best to get a feel of the mood and stuff first. He still needed it from the twins and the other boy. Before he could do that, however, he thought it might be best to give his flowers to the bunny hatted girl and apologize to her. He walked up to the little girl, held out the flowers, and simply said "I'm sorry for frightening you. Please forgive me." and hoped she would accept the apology. By doing this the young Raiken may have even managed to move on of the kids to help him out by giving him their peice of information, though this though was quite far from the young Raiken's mind. Apologizing to the bunny-hatted girl was probably the best way to build good will in the group of kids.

[[ Hmk so I just got home and I have a massive headache. If something doesn't make sense, PM me. ]]
Udo walked into the bar with his hands full of bowls, grateful when Brassa stood to help him. With a smile, he lay them out across the bar-top, and clapped his hands together, taking a seat a few stools from the kids. No need to drink so close to them, after all, they might get curious once Udo got a little groggy. "Sake, Prodo - a whole bottle of it. I might want another afterwards - but you know when to cut me off." Chuckling, Udo leaned against the bar, watching the young people interact.
Fay's lip quivered ever so slightly, but she stepped forward slightly and lifted her eyes to meet Kiba's. A very, very small smile crossed her face, and she leaned forward a little to tell him the hint. He had apologized...and Brassa was helping with the bowls of udon, and Shin had stayed at the playground to contemporate...con..contembowl....oh, wait, it was 'contemplate'! He had stayed to contemplate, which he had told Fay was a fancy word for thinking. Fay liked Shin - he thought a lot and was very nice, almost like a real big brother.

A great sigh of relief came from the young Raiken when he felt that Fay had accepted his apology. "Thank you." he said with a relieved smile. Even though she had forgiven him he wanted to get away from her as soon as possible before he messed it up again. He went back over to the twins. "Thanks you two. I appreciate your help." Kiba's grin returned to his face after it's extended hiatus. "Now I guess I need to find out the rest of the information..." He said musingly. He had almost forgotten about that.

Walking to the front of the building, Naoki hesitated slightly, then made her way to where Prodo and the other children were. She sat down carefully on one of the tall stools, wishing to pull up her hood in shyness, though feeling that if one of her teachers from today caught her ruining the hair she had worked so hard to do they would scold her. It left her feeling uncomfortable, adding to her current melancholy mood. Her mind was still puzzling over Shin. Why was he ignoring her, really? It saddened her, especially after Kei, Renji, and Sayu all leaving, that he was so upset with her that he wouldn't even acknowledge her...

Noting that Naoki had been running her hands through impeccably groomed hair, Prodo chuckled and placed a mug in front of her...full of milk? Warm milk! With a smile, he placed a few small bowl-type things nearby as well - and explained each one in an almost hushed whisper. "Glad you decided to join us, sweetheart. Now...it's a little chilly tonight, so here's some warm milk. It tastes good alone - but I bet you can make it taste better. Here, these are sugar, cocoa powder, honey, and vanilla. Now, adding all of this probably won't be a good idea, but if you choose your ingredients carefully, and mix well, you should be just fine." Prodo smiled and left her to her own devices, though he kept an eye on her just in case she would need a new mug of milk...though he doubted it.

The twins stared at Kiba over their cocoa, and nodded, though they offered no assistance...they were, after all, consuming their reward for partaking in the afternoon's activity. Of course, they knew that he and the other tall boy still needed their clues...but that wasn't really their concern. They had done their part and now reaped the rewards...though Prodo might choose to let them have another mug if they behaved. And that udon was mighty tasty...having had dinner, they felt much more generous about their time.

Looking up in surprise when Prodo brought her the mug of warm milk and the other ingredients, she listened to him carefully as he explained them to her before walking away. Rather than adding something right away, she took a sip of the warm milk, deciding if she liked it by itself or not. It did seem a little bland, but she wasn't sure what to add to it... Mixing ingredients together wasn't exactly something she had experience with, especially food. She kept to simple things to eat. However, she supposed she could give it a try...

[ Prodo and Udo spent most of the night chatting and helping the academy students that were there to finish collecting information and solving the riddle. They hadn't gotten it just yet, but they were close. Prodo said they were welcome to return the next day for more cocoa when they wanted to, and the village children all returned to their homes afterwards. Prodo then ate dinner with Udo, and after a few drinks, bid his friend good night. Udo returned to his shop, and began to prepare for the next day... ]
Prodo stood in the bar, his alcohol and other such bottles standing idly behind the bar where they would remain more or less untouched until the return of the higher ranked shinobi of the village. With a sigh, he warmed a mug of milk and drank it slowly, relishing the plain and even taste and wondering what the academy students would choose to do today. Likely after they had had their breakfast, the village children would return for more cocoa. The morning air was sharp and made his eyes water whenever a breeze blew by. Ah, winter...
Damn but the chill was sharp. Wiping the bar down, he began pulling out things that were necessary for making hot choclate. Last night he had let Naoki try to make her own drink, but she hadn't taken to it very well. Maybe she would come back today and make something...well, in any case, anyone who came by would be making their own cocoa today. Eventually Prodo wouldn't be around anymore so someone would have to be able to make drinks. Hmm...a predecessor...now that was an idea. Prodo wondered where his granddaughter was...

Prodo rubbed his fat belly and began setting up a few mugs on the bar. Brassa and Fay had already come and gone, Fay with the cutest little milk mustache on her face. Poor girl was so timid, at least now she was opening up more. That Nara boy had, in the short period he'd been around her, helped the little girl open up. She had even stood up to Sevvi that morning, or so Brassa said! Over what, Prodo had no idea, but he had a sneaking suspicion it had to do with the girl's new hat - he had never seen her wear one with splotched cat ears on it, an adorable black and white contraption. Prodo suspected that Sevvi had probably found it (or made it, he did have a soft spot even if he didn't want to admit it) and then taunted her with it. Prodo smiled and took a sip of his own warm milk. It soothed the bones and helped him relax. Prodo wondered if any of the students would come back for more warm drinks.
