- Training Grounds -

User Image

The training grounds of the village are no more than a small patch of land with target boards, practice dummies, and tall trees to climb. The grass has been packed down tightly from the constant running of shinobi across the ground to climb the trees. There are also spots where the grass has been rubbed off the face of the earth where students stand to practice their aim by shooting their kunai and shuriken at the targets. Usually, a shinobi master can be found watching over the practice grounds - they believe shinobi, regardless of age, need to be watched over. After the destruction of the village and the Shinobi Academy, the training grounds have become one of the main practice sites for the students left in the academy, and a great training place for the older shinobi that are left.

After slowing down a bit with the book on minerals in clenched against her chest, Tanu stopped to take a breath. There was a small layer of sweat on her forehead and beginning to mist on her skin. Once she stopped heaving, Tanu looked up to see just where she was. There were targets lined up by trees where there were countless marks from the blade of kunais and shuriken being thrown. Tucking her book into her small utility bag on her belt, Tanu approached the area. She could tell where every usually stood when practicing their throwing since there was a run down spot in the grass where the greenery faded and brown dirt took its spot. Thinking back on her equipment, Tanu remembered that her kunai was still stuck up in the side of the apartments... Her aim was pretty bad and if she didn't practice before trying to get it down again, then she might get another weapon stuck in the process of the rescue. "Just a few throws..." Tanu said to herself as she positioned her feet in the center of that patch of brown earth. Each foot was directly beneath their corresponding shoulder. It was a comfortable throwing position for her and probably every other shinobi. Her Kun Kumo eyes look at the target painted on the trunk of the tree. She would aim for nothing less than a bull's-eye! If any other shinobi could throw from here, she would should be able to never miss since she was better than the normal ninja. Pulling a single black ninja star from her selection, those red and green eyes of her sized up the target before pulling back her shuriken and letting it slice through the air and hit that bull's-eye!

Tanu had closed her eyes, thinking that she would easily get a bull's-eye after throwing. However, as she opened those slitted eyes she bore witness to her imperfection. "<********>..." she swore to herself the moment she saw her shuriken not even on the target board, but above it. Her feet trudged through the grass, a path that had been taken by many others as well. The grass wasn't bore down to the dirt, but it was considerably shorter than the rest. As the girl came up to the tree, she jumped as high as she could to reach the shuriken. First jumped she missed and her temper began to boil. With the second jump, her finger tips grasped the shuriken and pulled it free. With her walk of the loser back to her throwing spot. Tanu didn't get revved up to throw again, but instead she took a minute to think... What were the other kids doing right now? Were they still sitting at the shoreline waiting for sensei to show up? They were most likely building castles in the sand! Tanu tried not to imagine Shin doing that, but knowing that bubbly fool he probably would be. The girl truly questioned that Nara's head sometimes. He was skillful and smart, but he was such a... p***y! She just didn't understand why he didn't try harder. He was more than capable of being a wonderful and powerful shinobi. The girl heaved a sigh, letting her shoulders slouch forward a bit. It was all that Kei's fault... She was the one making him soft, right? The way they were both cuddled up underneath the Kage's doorstep was sickening! Tanu would make sure Shin could make it as a shinobi and he definitely would with her help! With that final thought, Tanu let her shuriken fly at the tree, aiming for the middle of the target once again.

That time, Tanu swore that she wasn't going to make it in the target since she was too busy thinking. "Wha..." Tanu mumbled as her shuriken hit dead on. Her first step was slow, filled with disbelief, but her second step really brought her around. She had made a bull's-eye when she wasn't completely focused on the task. Instead she had been mulling over how incompetent Shin was. Tanu's face slightly blushed that the thoughts of Shin had somehow made her more capable. "That's stupid!" Tanu spatted as she ripped the shuriken free. "Yume's... He's the one that's nicer to me," Tanu mumbled to herself as she ran her finger along the inside of the shuriken where it wasn't sharp at all. The Hyuuga had almost been Tanu's first kiss... Except that stupid Kei had ruined it for her! Along with that numbskull Kazuma! It wasn't fair that they interfered when Tanu could've... "GAH!" Tanu shouted at the top of her lungs, throwing her hands into the air. She didn't want any of that romantic crap anyways! Who did that Yume think he was anyways? The first day they met and he was already trying to pull stuff like that. Tanu could've protected herself. She didn't need Kazuma running after her. Speaking of which... where was her cousin? Tanu hadn't seem him around much lately. She should head back to the apartment early to see if he was just sleeping again... That kid was so lazy... Tanu could've believe he called himself a Kun Kumo. Kana was more respectable than that cry baby. Again, Tanu threw her shuriken at the tree and hit pretty dead on. "I don't need this practice," she said to herself, knowing that her first throw had just been a warm up. The target was too easy. Pocketing her shuriken, Tanu started walking away from the grounds. "Maybe, I should look for those ingredients..." Tanu mumbled to herself as she pulled out a book. "Or maybe... I should see what those stupid kids are doing," Tanu said, wondering just what the academy students were doing. She'd make a wide loop, stopping at the academy first to see if they had left a note to where they'd be.

The sun slowly drifting below the horizon, the serpent youth continued his run. His mind took notice of how much time had passed throughout the day. He had started this run when the sun was beginning to wake up. Now the sun was tiring and he hadn’t finished. Amazing how one could get deterred from a task so easily. It was not a waste to be sidetracked this time. Albeit annoying, the gang did prove useful. The only thing Shisei had to remember now was that he had to chuck some fruits down in morning for the freckle face. Shisei didn’t mind. He was always an early riser.

His head pivoted taking a look at the land by his starboard side. There were many practice boards and dummies. Many of the trees and dummies had crevices embedded in them. Little slits from weapons, as if the texture had been tattooed by some assailant. It would be a nice place to train, but at the same time it looked like it was a common place for exercise. The snake child preferred his solitude so as nice as the setting was, his form would make rare appearances in the area. The bamboo forest on the other hand looked to be a peaceful place of solitude. Taking a final glance at the battle ground, Shisei continued to a new area.

Kore entered the Training grounds and was flooded with the smell of Maya and Baki. This place seemed to be almost untouched since their fight. He could remember every move and the disrespect he showed the elder lion. Not paying attention to where he was going Kore soon found himself under the massive kart. Now stuck he knew he was in trouble. Hoping Karite was having better luck with his task then the young lion was having right now.

Kore's body had been pinned and while he was still very flexible his body did not have much room to maneuver if he was going to break out of this one he would have to manage a different approach then his battle with Baki. It seemed his hind legs were stretched out but his forepaws were pinned tightly if he could manage to hook his hind legs around the back of the kart he could possibly be able to drag himself out. It was a far fetched plan but thinking quickly and trying to stay on the move he had little time for anything else.

Kore could not get any leverage under the Kart it seemed. He wished Karite was here he would have the strength to push the Kart over. It was up to Kore now to free himself from his own actions. However young he may have been it seemed that things like this were in his future for a long time to come. He chose a dangerous path and now it seems it will only get harder. It was time though to focus on the present. Kore had to find some way to wiggle himself free from the weight of the kart.

Kore could not manage to maneuver his legs in such a manner as to drag himself from under the cart so he began to do the only other thing he knew always came through. He dug his claws in and tried his best to move but all he did was dig lines into the wood. This was not going well but he had to get to Karite and soon. He did not know when the young man would need him but soon would be more likely then later for the energetic two legger. He would not let this kart get the best of him even though it was quite large,

Kore began to claw at the kart finding it gave him significant grip in order to slide his body out from the hole. it was just the leverage the young cub needed. Soon he would be at the forest and Karite would be in sight. After that maybe he could get some food. Shaking out his fur to get some of the dust off the young cub grabbed the rope and quickly began to move again. The Kart moved rather simply towards the academy. Kore could almost in vision the forest now he was so close. Soon all this would be over and the young cub could eat and bath. Just cause he was a wild animal didn't mean he had to smell like one.

Natamo stretched her arms out, standing and surveying the white ground. Animals hadn't come here - the snow was untouched. It seemed the students wanted to stay indoors while the cold weather bore down on the island, and the animal trainer found no fault in that train of thought. She waited for Shin to arrive, thinking carefully on how to help the boy with his training. He was tall, too, which threw Natamo off, but would be an advantage for him. He was lanky, but with some extra food in his diet he would look like a warrior and not a student, or a soon-to-be-genin. She rubbed her jaw lightly; it still ached from where Dhan had socked her. She'd tame that man eventually...

"It would be smart to create an earth clone for his own clones to attack..." Natamo murmured to herself, though she would wait until Shin was ready before calling for the clone. The earth was hard, and it would probably be a crappy clone...she would probably be better off matching his clone with a shadow clone of her own, since those seemed to plentiful in the winter and she didn't feel like going through the extra effort to pull an earth clone from the frozen ground. She scoffed at herself. "Look at me, afraid to face the shadow clone of an academy student. I need to get ahold of myself," she muttered, shaking her head and turning to face the boy. "Ready?"

Rubbing his hands together while walking beside Natamo, Shin tried to stay warm. He had his jacket on, but the cold was getting to this hands. He felt that gloves would just get in the way of creating seals for bunshin no jutsu. Standing back just a little bit, he watched Natamo size up the area of the training grounds. 'What could she be thinking about?' Shin asked himself as he watched her curiously. She was muttering something to herself, but Shin couldn't make out what it was. "Ah! I'm ready," the boy said with an eager nod.

Suddenly, his throat grew dry as he thought about training with such a high ranking shinobi. Before he had other students around that were the same level as he. Now he was alone and all her attention would be weighing down on his performance. That type of pressure usually never even entered the Nara's mind, but today it did. He licked his lips and let out a breath, the heat visible in the cold air. "Ok..." Shin said, hoping that he wouldn't fumble in front of the animals tamer. Executing the seals, Shin let out a small, "Bunshin no jutsu," before a cloud of chakra veiled over him. He tried to move to the side in order to switch places and making it harder for Natamo to decipher which one was really him, but he had a feeling she would know...

The chakra poured out from him, leaving his body and creating a genjutsu directly beside him. As the smoke clear, Shin couldn't help but keep a smile on his face and his clone's. That was the best go he had ever had at making the clone. His chest and the clone's puffed up with confidence. "What do I do next?" Shin asked, ready for instruction.

Natamo smiled almost proudly as the clone produced mirrored Shin exactly. Good job, she thought, and she paused to think on what would make this game more interesting. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out a leather thong and tied it around her eyes, letting herself drift into darkness. Not only that, but she made sure her ears were covered, the sounds around her muffled. She could pull her punches as well as anyone else could, and it would be fun to see what Shin could come up with. With her eyes covered, she wouldn't be able to tell them apart by sight, and since she wouldn't be able to properly hear how heavy the footsteps were falling (plus there was snow to muffle those even further), it was almost a fair fight. Except if Natamo got her hands on Shin, it might not be very fun at all for the boy. "Alright Shin...try having your clone attack. I'm pulling punches, so don't be afraid to go in for a hit yourself - I'm a big girl, after all!" Natamo chuckled and took a stance. She had already forgotten where Shin and his clone stood, and was the real Shin on the left or right? Crap....she could remember how to tame the wildest beast, and not whether a boy had summoned a clone on his left or right side. That probably wasn't a good sign. At all.

Sorri

PostPosted: Wed Nov 19, 2008 3:07 pm

Sorri had ran away from academy and into the training grounds. He went strait for one of the training dummies and quickly turned and leaned against it, checking from his entrance to watch if anyone had following him, deep down he hoped Shinichi had. that he was just playing around, maybe it slipped his mind at the last moment, but no there was no one coming to apologize, he had been forgotten again. Sorri bit down on his lip and quickly turned and struck the dummy in the head with his balled fist. Then followed with 4 punches to the gut. The image that played out in his head was Kucha the failure ninja of their family, who didn't have the mindset to keep up with the training. His eyes closed tightly, now failing to hold back his tears, he was just as bad. He couldn't even graduate, he was there longer then any other past student even more-so now.He was just as bad as Kucha, maybe worse. Then in anger he thought of his father. He kicked at the rib areas of the dummy and went back into hitting at it. The stray poked threw the punching dummy, harshly scratching at Sorri's skin. He didn't care about the pain, it was almost as if he didn't fell it at all. Then he looked at the dummy's face again, with the ANBU Shinichi in mind and Sorri charge at it, trying to lift the dummy by the arms. Walked itno the work of his arms, Sorri then slipped because of the snow. He rammed his forehead into the dummy, knocking his head back and falling to his knees. Sorri the knelt there tears and snow streaming down his face, letting the bits of blood from his knuckles mix in with the previously fresh snow. Invisible to the world, and the world invisible to him. Why should e care? "Whats the point in trying s-so hard..if I can o-o-only fail..." He paused and stuttered in his sniffles and low moans.
