- Ruined Academy - The academy used to be home to those students that where either sent here or dreamed of becoming a great shinobi protector. Now it is nothing more then a bunch of rubble, only a wall or two standing after it was demolished in the events of the Black Spring. A few desks or books could be seen scattered around, the well still standing in the middle of all the rubble, the water in the well wasn’t all that clean, but if boiled it could still be drinkable.

At the beginning of the stealthy sprint he stumbled and then tripped into an ugly rolling fall over another sleeping village civilian and try to jump back up. he skipped back into his sprint and stop against the gates, hugging the wall with his back and watching his surrounds...it was dark and quiet still...it was scar- NO!...He couldn't think like that.
Sorri hoped to the other side and hid in the bushes for safety....at least there was some shelter in the selected spot

Jonu's eyes drifted open as he emerged from the best sleep that he had experienced in years. His body felt completely rested and at ease, as if he hadn't just recently been stranded at sea and nearly swallowed up by the cold sea. A lazy hand made its way up to rest on the back of his neck as he soon realized that every one of the students had dozed off as well. The entire village had succumbed to one of its leader's passive genjutsu moves. Every detail of this fact managed to elude Jonu for the moment, but he did figure that some sort of technique had been used. Considering that everyone appeared to remain unharmed during the duration, the former captain decided that he needn't worry about the source or what to do about it, but instead simply resume training.
After noticing that all of the cannonballs had been modified, he knew exactly what the next step would be. "Listen up, kiddies.." Jonu kept his voice loud to make sure that he would wake all of the students for their next session. "It would appear that our nap time be done with. Now what I request yeh all do is partner up and toss 'em cannonballs at each other fer a while. Be tryin' to get out of the way of 'em though, they still be quite 'ard!" With that said, Jonu began to stretch his muscles and then hesitated for a moment before speaking once more, "Ah yes.. If there be an odd number, I'll partner up with yeh."

With a sleepy yawn, Naoki sat up from where she had fallen asleep. That was so unlike her... She never fell asleep in strange places! Her mind was a little muddled, she had been sleeping so hard. Oddly enough, she also didn't remember dreaming. For a person who often had vivid dreams and, even more often, nightmares, it was a strange feeling. She blinked as the teacher began giving instructions for the next exercise, and paled, making her freckles stand out even more than normal. Throwing cannonballs?!? At each other?!? Oh, she knew her luck. She would be knocked out for sure on the first hit. Instantly filled with a feeling of dour, she stayed seated on the floor, wrapping her arms around her legs and resting her chin on her knees. With her hood up, it made it look like her bright green eyes were staring out of a black hole, if you couldn't see her legs. She was the very image of a little girl sulking, though she didn't realize it. In reality, she was just waiting on someone else to wake up. Maybe Renji or Shin would be her partner... They wouldn't try and send her into a coma just to prove how strong they are...

((If someone gets low on Hp can we block a shot for them and take the damage?))
Karite was dreaming of some island far from his home land of the Wave country. Where lion's and beautiful girls roamed every turn. He had fought serpents and partied with shionbi. He had meet strange people and even stranger women. He had been threatened with thrown kunai and meet friends. Yet, all of this was not a dream at all. Opening his eyes his breathing was heavy kicking dust from under his nostrils. Looking around on the ground he noticed most of the class was still asleep. Hearing something about dodge ball he rolled over onto his bum pulling his hair back into its tight ponytail. and began to stretch his arms for the exercise at hand. He was hoping either Shin or Shisei would be his partner. They were the only friends he had so far and he was hoping to win. He didn't like to lose and he enjoyed more then anything to play a good old game where he had to dodge or run. "Well Cap'n I guess we better not get hit then." Karite said standing now bending down and touching his toes. he was a quick bugger alright which would help, but he didn't know how hard everyone could throw.

Serena suddenly awoke, feeling like she was still in bed or something. Where was she anyways, and why was she on the ground? Half-conscious, the Raiken rolled over on her other side and took in a deep breath. The air felt fresh...wait. The air? She was outside?! She sat herself up pretty quickly, and looked at her surroundings. It looked like she was at the academy..but for what? And it was evening, too..Serena looked around the corner in a sitting position to see some students asleep on the ground like her, but some had gotten up. From what she could see, someone might have cast a genjutsu on them..then the pirate teacher was spotted. When she saw him, she immediately remembered just about everything that happened before the genjutsu. Tomoko sent her and Kiba to spy on the first years--she got caught by the snake boy--he ratted her out to the pirate teacher--Kiba came and tried to get her out--they ended up with two different stories but she somehow combined them together--and then here..on the gound asleep. Kiba was still in front of her, but she didn't think of waking him up. She sighed. At least the genjutsu kept her from getting caught. Did that mean she could keep on spying? It depended on whether or not the pirate still wanted to know what was going on..maybe she should just go back and report everything to Tomoko..

Akiko’s eyes fluttered opened and her restful face immediately shifted into a face of confusion. She didn’t remember falling asleep she wasn’t even completely sure were she was for a moment. As she glanced around the room she rolled over to her stomach to get a better observation “I remember now I was in this class room for awhile trying to read the board….but what happened after that.” Getting to her feet she dusted off her white winter clothing, deciding it may be better to leave for now.
Once outside the academy door Akiko looked up at the sky it was cloudy possibly evening though it wasn’t very chilly at all, though she always felt warm, grabbing at her winter scarf Akiko set her gaze in front of her, she saw some sleeping forms and four awake. There seemed to be an older male “Maybe a Teacher?!” Her eyes smiled at the thought of finally know what to do, continuing with her observation she also noticed younger male that was standing up “Looks like he’s preparing for something.”, next she noticed a girl further away, she had no clue what she was doing, then last she noticed glowing green eyes. “A person connected to those eyes I’m guessing.” Once she finished her observation she decided it would be best to talk to the teacher.
Quickly closing the distance Akiko approached the teacher and bowed out of respect “Hi, I seem to be at a lost, I’m not really sure were I should be, would you mind helping me? I’m Ibazi Akiko.” She said giving the man a soft smile as she awaited his answer.

Shin had been hunched over the ball that he had been working on, his cheek pressed up to the cold metal and a fog of his breath, covering just a small amount of the black metal while he slept. Slowly he opened his eyes and lifted his head when the teacher said 'Listen Up'. Shin jumped in place when he realized that he had dozed off. Before he could turn and begin spewing out a apologies, the teacher continued to speak. "Nap time?" Shin whispered to himself as he looked around to see that everyone else was waking up as well. Scratching the back of his head, Shin had no idea what had happened. Had they all been drugged? It was all so strange... The thought of a technique putting them to sleep didn't even cross the boy's mind since he wasn't very knowledgeable in that area.
"Throw cannonballs!?" Shin bit back on his tongue as he squealed at the next exercise. His chocolate brown eyes looked over to Karite who seemed all up to it and ready to get started. Just by the looks of Karite he knew that the boy could probably chuck the balls pretty hard, even if he was younger than Shin. With out trying to center too much attention on himself, Shin scooted over to Naoki and then jumped to his feet quietly. He hated to stereotype people, but Naoki seemed like the type that couldn't throw very hard.
"Hey, Naoki-chan," Shin said softly just before tapping her on the shoulder with a warm smile on his face. "Want to be my partner? I'm pretty weak when it comes to throwing. Haha," Shin said, taking a stab at himself with words right away. The boy really was making himself out to be the wuss of the class. It didn't really bother him though. The letter that Karite had left in the apartment had made Shin feel pretty good about himself. He was a spineless coward most of the time, but when the time came he was brave and courageous! Although... Shin never thought he could be.

To say Naoki was relieved when Shin came up to her and asked to be her partner was an understatement. While she knew that getting stronger and better at the tasks meant challenging herself, which meant facing people much stronger than her, she also knew that baby steps would be best. "That would be great, Shin-san," she said with a shy smile, unfolding herself slightly so she no longer looked like she was sulking. "I'm not very strong, either, so maybe neither of us will have to go visit the nurse if we work together." Standing up, she brushed off herself off as she stood and straightened her clothes; they had become slightly rumbled when she slept. She pushed back her hood, seeing as they were indoors and she really didn't need it, and looked around. "What do you think caused us all to sleep like that...?" she couldn't resist asking Shin. She didn't have a clue, and it disturbed her. It didn't sit well with her that someone could put the entire class, and maybe the entire village, to sleep, and no one be able to stop it...

Jonu's gaze fell to the young girl that politely stood before him. He didn't recognize her from the group of students that had been at the shoreline and merely blamed this on the unexpected nap that he had taken rather than on the fact that she hadn't even been there in the first place. "Aye, nice to meet yeh, lass. Me name be Sumitu Jonu." He pleasantly nodded as she respectfully greeted him. The former captain found it quite interesting that the academy students of Shimagakure were so diverse. Rudeness didn't bother the man too much, he had been exposed to all sorts of criminals after all. What he wasn't used to was such inconsistency within a village. To claim that the population of Shimagakure was diverse would be an understatement to say the least! "Go ahead and find yerself a partner for the exercise. They'll likely know what to do from there." With the student instructed, Jonu decided to walk around and make sure that everyone was partnering up. He figured that some of the youngsters could be shy or quiet and they would need motivation to find themselves someone to work with. This task was a form of training in itself.
((If it comes to that Karite, Jonu will just have one of your characters fetch some food for the class so they can heal.))

Dreams in vermilion, nightmares in crimson. The vision in a scarlet monochrome had not come to Shisei for quite a while. Yet during this induced sleep he remembered that night. The blood. The mother and sister that disappeared. Then those two. The one with purple eyes and the other... the one with those crimson pupils....
The gold eyes flashed open quickly to see dirt and grass. Shisei's mind already began to work. When did he fall asleep? Why is he on his stomach on the ground? Well first was to think back to the last events. There was the cannonballs, then he heard a noise. Then there was that girl who tried to persuade him. He told the teacher and then..... his white body was on the floor.
The boy got up slowly to a vertical stance dusting off his vest and sleeves. His eyes came to see the lanky boy and the silent girl talking. Karite was talking to the salty sailor and then there was a new face, who was clad in all white. If it were snowing her body would have been perfectly camouflaged. From now colored boots, to ivory skin, to the ghost colored hair. If she had the eyes and hair, this girl could have been an Orochi.
The boy then remembered what the task at hand was. To pelt another person with a cannonball. His mind would have liked to barrage Shinobu with the metallic spheres, but it would seem that he already had a partner. He glanced around to see other people sleeping. "Perhaps a ninja technique..." his mind began to contemplate, although he didn't continue analyzing the situation like he normally would.
After that vivid nightmare, his temperament was more foul even though his face remained expressionless. It was a long time since that dream had invaded his mind. The cause of the dream the serpent youth may never know. All he did know was that he could let out some aggression by tossing the balls at other students.

Renji's eyes blinked a few times as he raised his head up. Groaning a bit, the Raiken rolled onto his back and then propped himself up on his elbows. Glancing around, the boy frowned a bit as he recognized the academy a little ways away. 'How in the world did I fall asleep in the middle of the day? And outside, to top it all off?'
Shaking his head, the student sat up a bit more, looking as if to rise up to his feet...but came to a halt as he saw a note attached to the knee of his pants. Stopping his ascent, the ninja trainee grabbed the note, raising it up close to his eyes to make sure he could read it properly. 'Your brother has been found. Report to the shoreline immediately if you wish to help rescue him.'
Crumpling the paper and tossing it behind him, Renji rolled onto his back, pausing briefly to tuck his hands on either side of his hands. Then, with a sudden kick, the Raiken sprang to his feet, hesitating slightly to catch his balance before taking off in the direction of the shoreline. 'Ichigo-nii-sama!'
Slowing down a bit, the dark eyed boy glanced back at the academy, frowning a bit as he caught a glimpse of Naoki. Bringing himself to a complete stop, the boy just stared at her for a few moments, before shrugging a bit. 'I'm sure she'll be fine on her own. I bet she was annoyed by me, more than anything else.' Chuckling a bit, the trainee then turned back to the shoreline and dropped back into a sprint, pumping his arms as he quickly as he could. 'Nii-sama...I'm coming!'

[McClane, do you have specific modifier you want us to use with the throw skill? Or just no modifier at all?]
Not knowing how to quite explain it, but the fact that Naoki was smiling, even if it was barely visible, was something that made Shin feel real warm inside. The boy hadn't seen Naoki smile since the first day he met her. "Alright!" Shin said happily as he stood a good throwing distance from Naoki. He rolled the cannonball from hand to hand trying to think of some explanation to everyone suddenly falling asleep. It must've not been something to concern oneself with since the sensei didn't seem alarmed or angry by all of them sleeping. "Mmm," Shin hummed while trying to think. "Haha, I can't really say. Sensei doesn't seem upset by it, so maybe he did it..." Shin said, mumbling off trying to think just how the teacher would do that. "Ah! Maybe it was a technique? Like a ninjutsu or genjutsu! What do you think of that?" Shin asked, to see if Naoki didn't think it was as silly as it sounded. The Nara didn't know anything about shinobi jutsus, so he was starting to think that anything was possible. "Oh, get ready," Shin said, winding his arm back with the heavy canonnball in hand. He couldn't throw very hard, but Shin felt like he was accurate enough. The boy just hoped that his throw would make it over to her and not fall half way...

Tomoko moved quickly through the village, losing the people that were suppose to be following her rather fast. As Tomoko came up on the acdemy where she had tracked the scoundrel who had taken in her slaves, she got behind a bush to hide. Tomoko watched them move about. Her brown eyes were pulled towards Serena. Close to the girl was the boy slave who was passed out on the ground. "GASP!" Tomoko said as she infact gasped at the sight. The man had used interrogation techniques on her slaves! This was bad. Hopefully the little buggers didn't give out any information! Jonu had many slaves, more slaves than Tomoko. Putting her hand to her chin, she tried to think things through carefully on how to retreive her slaves without the use of the firecrackers. Not giving herself more than 5 seconds, Tomoko came up with a plan. Putting her hands on the ground as she rolled up on the balls of her feet, she got in a squatting position and then lept up into the air like a frog. "BONZAI!" she yelled once only a few inches close to Jonu with her legs and arms spread wide. If he wasn't quick enough to move, Tomoko would have him in one of her death grasps. The ones that weren't at all painful, but gave the impression that Tomoko was a leech that could never be removed! With this distraction, her girl slave should be able to sneak off the premises without Jonu's slaves noticing!

Akiko’s soft smile grew more as she listened to Jonu talk, she found it different and she liked it. As he brought his instruction to a close she bowed once more in respect, Akiko was always taught to show such respect to adults, before leaving to find a partner. Before she went on her search she turned to speak apparently odd words while casting a kind smile, to show she didn’t mean any harm with her smiling at his earlier words. “I like the way you talk.”
Turning on her heels to face her possible partners the new student began her observation, but not before taking note that she probably just freaked out her new sensei. Hopefully she would be able to change his opinion of her to a positive one, but continuing with the observation…she took notice of two more people that seemed to wake. One was a pale boy with golden eyes, and the second seemed to be leaving “It seems I missed one.” She thought to herself as her eyes scanned over the green eyes from before seeing that they were in fact attached to a body, a female it seems. And that girl was partnered with a boy that must have woken up while her back was turned. “Scratch them off the list.” The only other person that seemed to be ready for whatever the assignment was the green haired boy.
“Hmmm, throwing cannonballs…?” the student said to herself as she made her way over to Karite, noticing what the boy with the cannonball was doing. It made her wonder if it was part of the assignment or if he was just upset. “Hi” Akiko greeted finally making her way to Karite “Do you have a partner, If not may I fill the position, and either way would you mind explaining what the assignment is.” She asked almost in a reporter fashion.
