Washington, D.C. The pols there sure as heck aren't following the wishes of the Citizenry of the Several States any more.
(just kidding of course)
Seriously, we need to get out of the business of building Empires. That''s what killed off the Roman Empire and damn near finished off the Brits if you think about it (if they'd had forces back home in England during WWII, would the situation have become so desperate? I think not) If America falls, we may end up being invaded, just like the Ostrogoths did to Rome. I have no clue who might do so, but the idea of living under some foreign rule shakes me to my core. If the neocons are right and we'd be living in some Islamic world of sharia, I am not sure that I'd particularly like wearing the veil, for instance.
We've got to switch courses, now. No invasions, no occupations. Come home. We need to defend our borders while we still have anything worth defending.

We need to defend our borders while we still have anything worth defending. *applauds* i wholeheartedly agree, as much as i am an American, wow we need help in our own damn economy, 80% think the High gas is a serious problem or worse, *05 also think we are in a recesion, imagine what our economy would have been if we hadn't gone to Iraq.... He might actually have approval ratings in the lower 40s(right....)
