Caprice glanced up at the sky in confusion. "Did you just spit on me?" She questioned out loud. Caprice knew very well that it was only raining, but she couldn't the silly question. She'd thought of it the last time it rained, but it was a mere drizzle by then. But the joke lacked its intended affect seeing as Caprice was the only one around to hear it. Shrugging, Caprice propelled herself towards the sandy beach. During a storm, her best bets were either to be on land or to dive under the water. Since she had spent 90% of her day in the water, Caprice was happy for the excuse to go on land. This was also the best time since the rain would let her wander around without having to worry about drying up.
Once Caprice reached land, the rain began to pour down harder. Not to the point where Caprice was uncomfortable, but enough to help her hurry along towards the thin layer of trees near the hill that overlooked the ocean.

Martin shook his head to keep the rain out of his eyes. It had been raining steadily for a long time now, but that didn't bother him. Martin liked the fact that rain kept everything living, but most soquili just thought of him and his ideas as outdated and lame. Martin was actually very young, but he had matured quickly.
Snapping back to where he was mentally, Martin noticed he had been heading towards the beach. In his opinion, the beach was the best place to be when it was raining. He could dive into the water and the rain would just seem like a wave that had just broke. He also liked the view, the gray sky melting into the gray sea.
The rain was getting a little too heavy for Martin's comfort, so he trotted into a little stand of trees. The view was still nice, and the rain slowed enough by the trees that it felt nice. He tossed his head up, and nibbled at a leaf. Maybe he would find some interesting plants today as a result of the rain.

After Caprice reached the cover of the trees, she was relived to find that the thick leaves reduced the downpour to a mere drizzle. Now that the rain was light and refreshing, Caprice began to wander around in circles between the trees. This would have been far more exciting had she not walked these same paths millions of times already. Due to her limited mobility, these trees were as far as Caprice could normally travel. They had offered an exciting adventure the first time Caprice had dared to leave the ocean, but their mystery was now gone. Well, some of it did returned along with the misty overcast that darkened the horizon.
Caprice was skipping along merrily when a small crunching noise came to her attention. She recognized the noise, seeing as she herself had made it before; it was the sound of someone eating! But who was here besides her? Crouching down, Caprice began to sneak around in search of this newcomer. They must be nearby, since no one chews very loud.
Slinking foward, Caprice bumped face first into a pair of legs. Any other horse might have been slightly embarrassed, but Caprice simply jumped to her hooves and shouted, "Sorry!"

Martin looked with surprise at the soquili that had just bumped into him. His ears flicked back and forth. She appeared to be a Kelpi. Martin realized that she was out and about because of the rain, it allowed her to leave the ocean. He took a curious sniff, and sure enough he could smell the ocean brine.
This is a pleasent surprise! I didn't expect to meet anyone out here in this weather. Martin thought to himself. He turned to face the Kelpi, and said, "Hi there. And its no problem at all." He smiled a greeting, and swished his head again to get the rain drops out of his eyes.
