hey! isn't it that chief yagami died the day after he took the shinigami eyes deal? since the deal took half of his lifespan... does that mean that he just had 2days remaining to live?

I never noticed that, but I think that you're right.

I think I saw a comic on deviantart about him being picked of by a pterodactyl two days after he refused the eye trade...
awsome, may I say.

Would that count, though? Don't the shinigami eyes cut your natural life in half? He was shot and killed, so that wouldn't really count as natural life. Or doesn't it matter?

I don't think it matters if the death is natural or not since Misa was originally supposed to get killed by her stalker, for example.

I wasn't really talking about the eyes, I was just trying to answer your question about natural lifespans. Basically, a person's "natural" death in the series doesn't necessarily have to come from nature (I used the incident with Misa as an example of this in my previous post). Sorry if I misunderstood anything or am not being clear enough.

Even though I wasn't that hit by his death, the realization he only had TWO DAYS left did. That was sad.... And like another poster said, 'natural' death isn't a death by natural causes, but the death the person was supposed to have from the very beginning. And the shinigami eyes don't affect that either.
