Alright...well, for a while now, only a handful of us have been posting, and in recent times it's been mostly me and Queen_Zeppelin. What happened? Is our beloved Guild on its way to a horrible demise? Or is there hope beyond this period of darkness and despair? Or am I just an overreacting Gaia freak who really needs to get a hobby/boyfriend/life/etc.?
I urge all of us to band together now, fellow Queenies--we must keep this precious Guild alive!

I agree-I rarely check in here now....no one ever posts

Well, since it feels like gaia nowadays just want money, at least I don't visit as often as I used to. I have never been as active in Break free as some of you, but I think that might be an explanation. People are bored of gaia u___u

Well, that's interesting. The possibility that Gaia itself may be falling into obscurity is a facet of the situation that I had completely overlooked. But what do you mean by saying that Gaia "just wants money"? Are the admins hitting people up for donations or something? neutral

They made tha cash shop and if you want any of the nice items you have to buy them there for real money. They practically skipped the easterevent and made some items for cash shop instead. When the cash shop became bigger than the monthly collectibles I became rather tired with gaia. They don't punish people for not using their real money, but if you want some "good" items you have to pay for them with your real money. It wasn't realy like that a one or two years ago.

I dunno. I just joined this past September (on my original account), so I barely noticed. I get all my cash shop/collectibles on the marketplace.

I don't think it has to do with Gaia becoming more obscure or whatever, 'cause it's the biggest forum on the Internet and it's gradually had more people being on daily. I've hardly ever seen it drop beneath 90k recently.

But I do find whatcha said about Gaia wanting money interesting, Umjie. I've noticed that the items they've released have more and more been just pandering to the most popular things right now. Like recently, it was the Japanese clothing, and now it's all these 4chan memes popping up. It's reaaaaally gotten stupid. No wonder everybody not on Gaia hates it. razz

Yeah, it really does feel like they're trying to turn it into something more profitable. And they claimed when they were revamping the marketplace, they were trying to make it so that new people have more of a chance to buy things. neutral It also seems like they've steadily increased the number of advertisement quests of late.

Anyhoo... I think the problem with the guild is that we had so few active posters in the first place, and now all the rest hardly come on, or don't want to bother using it to come to the guild. I've personally done practically nothing on here anymore, I just use it to talk with a few people.

I might be wrong about people leaving gaia because of that. But maybe the old members leave and the new members stay? I don't know, it's just a theory. neutral

I agree with Soren, there are only a few active members, and it they leave there's hardly none left.

Hmmm...yeah, that makes a lot of sense. But, I wonder why our handful of active posters just suddenly dropped? I mean, you hardly ever see Popo around here anymore, and she owns the Guild. *sigh* This haven for obsessed Queen fans is crumbling into dust before our eyes...

I've been trying to think of ways to coax some new life out of this Guild. The most promising idea seems to be to make a post on Queenonline that informs anyone willing to read it of our plight, toss in a link to Break Free and hope for the best. I'm willing to bet that some people will visit, at the very least to check out Mer-Freddie.

Maybe we could do something like that on Queenzone as well. I'd have to get an account there, though, if I am to be the one to make the fateful post.

Think it'll work?

Well, there you have it--a shot in the dark over at QOL. I'm pretty satisfied with it, myself; but only time will tell if it's very effective.

Well, I confess. I kinda quit checking here because nobody was ever on... And, I wasn't in Queen OD. That may be the reason some people aren't posting here, is because they're in a different musical or otherwise obsession...
I agree with what's been said about Gaia, though.
I bet you guys that in two years, Gaia is as ad overridden as Neopets is now.

This guild is pretty much one of the few reasons I'm still on Gaia Online. Its one of the few save havens for actual interesting conversation.

And is it me or is it sad how eventually alot of things get runned by inept CEO's?

Starbucks, Gaia, Neopets, G4 the TV Cannel, and probably others.

What is so hard to grasp around the conept that pleasing one's major demographic is whats needed if you want people to enjoy your product and make moneyz and the same time?

How fudging hard is that? As someone who saw neopets go down the tube its sort of freaking me out that Gaia is going the same way too because this site was awsome sauce. crying
