He didn't realize just how far he had wandered from his mate and the strange male until it set in just how long it was taking him to get back. He would have apologies to make... And other things to make up for.
He managed to catch a bird once he was close enough to find a trace of her scent, picking up the limp creature and carrying it along with him. He could at least bring her this; a sort of apology gift.

She did't really know what to do with the poor male they'd run across. He seemed horribly hopeless and just didn't seem to know how to take care of himself. She had to wonder just how long ago his mother had left him if he was in the state he was in. The male was at a complete loss for almost everything.
She'd fed him and tried to figure out where he'd come from but he didn't have any idea. All he seemed to know was that his mama was gone and that she was suppose to come back for him but hadn't. Eventually she'd convinced him to go to sleep and sat nearbye to wait for her mate to return to her.

He crept slowly into the clearing, carefully setting the bird down beside his mate, smoothing the feathers with his nose before sitting back. He remained quiet for a moment, not wanting to be the one to break the silence. The sun was starting to set and he really didn't want to wake the odd lion if he was sleeping.

She heard something being set down in the grass beside her and turned her head. "hm..... oh." She smiled as she saw her mate and the bird he'd brought for her.
"Tamba..." Turning around completely she got up enough to move closer to the male and nuzzled her head under his. She had missed him while he was gone. "You didn't have to you know .... the bird i mean"

"I... Don't have to do a lot of things... And there are just as many things that I've done that I shouldn't have." He closed his eyes, leaning in to gently return the nuzzle. "You don't have to eat it. I just... I'm sorry."

"What are you sorry for?" She licked his muzzle before tucking her head under his. "I'm the one who ignored you for someone else." She knew Tamba got jealous easy but she just hadn't been able to leave the helpless lion alone. The white male didnt' have anyone to take care of him at all.

He rested his head against hers for a moment before running his cheek down along his mate's neck. "He can stay with us... As long as he doesn't get in the way... And as long as he listens to what he's told. I..." His nose wrinkled slightly as he sat up. "... I won't have any cubs of mine unable to listen to what they're told."

"You ... you mean it?!" She looked up completely surprised that he would agree to such a thing. She'd thought for sure that Tamba wouldn't want anything to do with the other male and that he would make her send him away.

"Since when have I ever said anything that I didn't mean?" His brow lofted slightly as he tilted his head to look at her. "I couldn't bare to see the sadness in your eyes if I made you send him away before he learned something proper from you... Once he knows as much as our boy did and he can take care of himself he's on his own. Until then... He has to listen to us if he wants to be a part of our family."

She nuzzled him again before shifting to nose at the bird he'd brought. She hadn't eaten much of the gazelle she'd caught for the other male and was a bit hungry.
"He should learn faster than a cub, i hope." Adults should have been easier to teach to live on their own. At least he wouldn't have a problem strength wise taking down larger prey

"You would think so, wouldn't you? Save for him not seeming all that different than a cub." His nose wrinkled once more as he shook his head. "You'll need to take care of yourself if you're going to take care of a cub again. I'll hunt for you while you're teaching him."

"He does understand a bit more than a cub, though not much." He at least knew what things were called and knew how to hunt a bit. She wasn't sure if he'd ever learned or if he'd just done it in desperation once and got the idea.
"I will have to hunt some. Someone has to show him how to do it properly."

"You'll hunt with him to teach... I'll hunt for you." He nodded slowly , leaning in to give his mate another gentle nuzzle. "Then we'll move on... Or he can move with us. There isn't any good water around here. No sense in staying long if it isn't going to rain."

She crunched down most of the bird before she looked back up at him to answer. "We should move on when he wakes. It's not healthy to stay around here." They'd wandered past where all the prey that was left was living and into dryer land. They needed to get somewhere with water at least.

He nodded slowly, letting his eyes drift towards the pale lion for a moment before looking back to his mate. "We should get some rest while he sleeps if we're going to move when he wakes. It's... Been a long day, hasn't it?"
