For the umptenth time that week, Cada had skirted out on the ever watchful eyes of his guardian; the dear Dr. Marijus. The man was like a security blanket that suddenly began to suffocate you. Even as he kicked open the door and began running down the steps with Mr. Happy in tow, he could hear Marijus warning him of carriages and not to stray to far toward the forrest. He heard a few other demands but they were lost the instant he made it to ground level. Stepping outside he took a deep breath enjoying the crisp mid-morning air.
From the top landing, Marijus poked his head out the window barking one last demand to the boy. "And don't come back without some cleaning solution!" With that, the window was shut. Apparently the little cherub had found it entertaining to use the white and beige walls as his own personal canvus. After being given sticks of color; which he used to draw on the walls, Marijus had found it a much safer endeavour to let the boy go out to play. Of course he dropped some coin in his pocket reminding him to bring some cleaning supplies for his walls.
That wouldn't matter, those walls were more or less permanent. Cada let out a peel of laughter as he ran in a zig-zag motion throughout the street. Yes the street... carriages were defenseless against the child as were passerbys who had grown used to his hyperactive ways over the week. As was his usual tour, he walked passed the flower shop plucking a single flower from one of the baskets to give to the flower lady. She smiled and blushed taking the flower as she set it in another basket that was beginning to fill up. Turning back to Cada she giggled removing his hat just a bit to kiss his forehead. "You are such a cutie but are you behaving yourself?" Cada just smiled as he hugged his toy to him. "Alright now, run along."

As told, Cada continued his tour of the neighboring area. From bakeries to candy stores, cafes, bars and even the main market, Cada had seen it all. Though there was plenty more to explore that he would be certain to bring to Marijus' attention when they got the chance. For now he made purchase of the cleaning supplies that were requested and decided he'd make a detour down a different route.
Not so much for finding something different but due to his usual routine he had started picking up a few annoying individuals along the way. Always when it was time for him to return home, they'd find him during his outtings. Usually the group would send one or two out to scoop him up then direct him to a dark alley. He hated the dark. It was there he found himself surrounded, the group picking at him due to his dark skin, strange bruises and scars and the fact that he could do nothing without bringing his Mr. Happy along. The last time they had really tried hard to get at him by beating up on Mr. Happy but he hadn't made a sound. Learning fast that if he didnt' respond they got bored and left him alone.
Although lately their efforts had become more physical toward him. It started with pushing, led to their pulling his cloths and hair, some even tried to pull at his wings which were nothing more than bone. It hurt but he still said nothing. Like many times before after they realized he wouldn't react they got bored and left. It was for this reason Cadaver decided to switch things up.

Despite his efforts, Cada could do nothing when it came to avoiding the things he hated most. As he turned down a corner looking left and right, he hadn't noticed the objects of his distaste were walking up the block toward him. They hadn't noticed him just yet but after a while as the crowd around them began to wan, the leader of the group smirked. "Hey boys, looky here. We got ourselves a dead boy walkin'." The group turned their attention to the leader's line of sight and all of them began to grin in unison. "Looks like we can have ourselves a bit of fun." The lead interjected as he picked up his pace. The group was not far behind.
Cada, however, only just now noticed the group as they swarmed around him from seemingly out of no where. Instinctively he hugged Mr. Happy tighter for comfort as he looked from one to the other. Again, he kept quiet. The boys sneered as if sizing up their pray. "Fancy meetin' you here boy. You still playing with dolls I see." The lead began. Always with pointing the obvious. This didn't get a rise out of Cada as he continued to hold tight to his treasure. "Still mute as ever, too." Again nothing. From this point Cada knew they would get frustrated and the usual attacks would come. Sure enough with more taunting a bit of pushing and reaching for Mr. Happy, the attacks followed then after. One boy pushing Cada hard against the other and another boy doing the same. They continued this, still getting nothing from the otherwise cheerful child.
"Fine if you won't say nothing, then you leave me no choice." It was a taller boy slipping up from behind to snatch Mr. Happy from Cada. He didn't make a sound but did reach for his toy before the taller boy face palmed him and sent him to the ground. He looked up noticing the leader holding a flint. "If you don't say something then you're little toy is going to get it."
Cada turned up his head, watching in horrified silence as the leader began striking the flint. It was apparent these kids were not playing around. All this for a response? Cadaver could only wonder. "Fine." He breathed as he stood to his feet. "If you want a response so bad..." Of course he didn't know what he could possibly do. It was frustrating and in taking a deep breath he let it out all at once. In that same instant something else had been released into the air. Rushing forward, Cada reached for Mr. Happy glaring madly at the group. "Don't make Mr. Happy mad!" He practically screamed snatching the doll away as he stepped back. Though none of the boys were putting up much of a fight to begin with. One such child was holding his stomach while another had a look of fatigue over him. One after another the group began to buckle to their knees groaning in pain over something. Cada blinked. He didn't do anything but retrieve his toy... what was wrong?
"Ugh.. I feel sick." The lead whinned.
"Me too." Another joined in... and one by one the group didn't care so much for Cada and his toy. Each one turning tail to run home to their mamas.
Cada blinked again. He looked to Mr. Happy then the retreating forms of the boys and shrugged. "That ought to teach them not to mess with Mr. Happy." He confirmed with a smile as he gave said toy a high five. "Let's get home, too. Doctor daddy is going to be upset if we don't fix those walls you drew all over." Mr. Happy made a sudden head movement (courtesy of Cada) as said child looked to the toy. "What? I don't know what you're talking about. I did no such thing." With that the two hurried home; with Cada's thoughts vaguely on the events that had just transpired.
