(( In this RP, all you really have to do is have your pidge either agree or disgree with U-Turn. If your bird is a fledgling or older AND is from a flock, you are welcome to reply without asking. If your bird is a hatchling or younger or is not from any flock, please ask before posting. Eggs, under any circumstance, may not voice their opinion for obvious reasons. Thank you!

Please see my RP plot for more details about this RP. Thank you! ))

"Thank you all for coming!" U-Turn said to the assembled birds. "Please let me explain why I have asked you all to come here. I have had a dream that, for at least one day every other month or so, all of the flocks would be able to meet and tell stories. It would be a time to forget old grudges and make new friends! I believe that it could even lessen the hate and fear that we share. Baker's flock and Big Ma's flock are not so different; we're really quite similar. So I hope that I can convince you all to let this day-- my dream-- be realized! After I know who agrees with me and who doesn't, I'll try and talk to Baker about my idea. Reverend, I hope that I may rely on you to speak with Big Ma. Alright then, who's with me to make a day when everyone can speak legally with everyone and not feel guilty?" U-Turn searched the audience for supporters. He felt certain that his cause was just.

User ImageA chain of small cries gave way to a brightly-inked pidge stumbling through the crowd, attempting to avoid each pidge, and in turn ending up bumping into the next. Once he was close enough to be heard, he leaped up and shouted enthusiastically to U-turn, wings flapping messily.

"I'm with ya, U-turn! This is JUST the thing the flocks need! Good pidges, good stories - what could go wrong? Nothing, I say!"

He stumbled slightly upon re-landing, looked around nervously at whatever reactions may be, and settled down with a mildly worried smile. There were obviously those in the crowd that didn't approve - he hoped he hadn't made any enemies with that.

User Image Lady cooed her agreement," U-Turn, I believe in your actions, but what can be done of it? How can we break the resentment between our leaders?" Lady held her wings up in question, trying to make sure it would be answered.

Lys looked at her fellow witch who had she had met on her way here," I am also curious, Big Ma is still furious at Baker! Do you have some sort of plan for this U-Turn?"
PostPosted: Mon Mar 24, 2008 8:10 am

U-Turn was glad to already have supporters, so he answered the question readily. "The only way that we can do this is to speak respectfully to them and tell them how many birds agree. If the majority of the flocks want this to become true, the leaders cannot refuse us and still hope to maintain peace. If the flock speaks out, the leaders will have to reason with us. Also, we may convince them by not asking for much; one day every other month seems like a fair enough plan, doesn't it? With any luck, Baker and Big Ma will consider this enough to listen. No one can be quite sure how they will take it, but if we all work together, I'm sure that we can make it happen!"

User ImageStation could not beleive herself for attending this, she felt ever so rebellious for doing so, but ah well it was an adventure. She sat quietly with her feathers fluffed up around her, she was a mature birds and prefered to listen in than to speak out. She wasnt quite sure of her opinions on this idea of U-turns it was very bold, perhaps even too bold.

Pound was attending the meeting with Reverend, Reverend had heard from other pidge whispers that this meeting was happening and decided he would go purely for 'research'. Although he could have just got any patrol pidge to attend but he was a nosey creature.
Pound wasnt quite sure of what to think but there had been whispers of the meeting and any Baker's bird who was willing to talk with any of Ma's Birds was cause for chatter. Most of the more rebellious pidge were attending and Pound liked to think he was a rebellious sort too so he counted himself in. He wanted to talk to some Baker's birds....mostly females.
Pound settled at the back of the gathering with Reverend, In case the meeting turned ugly they needed to have Rev near the back so they could get out a quickly and easily as they could.

Cotton felt that this was a dangerous idea, and perhaps U-Turn could even be banished for intentionally breaking the laws. And yet... she had to agree with U-Turn's reasoning. The hate between the flocks, no matter the initial reason, had been going on for a bit too long. Baker and Big Ma may despise each other forever, but weren't they only hurting their pidges by preventing them from seeing one another? Cotton nodded solemnly at U-Turn to show her support. She wasn't sure how this would turn out, but she might as well do her best to push this idea along.

((Okay, so let's try to get this straight...

Speedbump from Baker's agrees
Lady from Baker's agrees
Lys from Big Ma's agrees
Station from Baker is neutral/undecided
Pound from Big Ma's is neutral/undecided
Rev from Big Ma's is neutral/undecided
Cotton from Baker's agrees

In total, only four supporters besides U-Turn, and only one from Big Ma's. I'll need to get some more... I should have at least six birds in agreement, and certainly more than one Big Ma bird. sweatdrop ))

((sorry for not being in Big Ma's, but here's Spork's opinion))

Spork hopped into the room, and politely listened to what U-Turn had to say. He smiled at the idea. "I think that U-Turn here has come up with a wonderful thought, and that we all should be allowed to gather once a month. What's the harm in doing it? Meeting other pidge isn't bad!"

((No, that's just fine. Any pidge's opinion is good! ^^))

U-Turn swelled with pride. He had convinced so many pidges already. U-Turn stood up a bit taller and announced, "I'm sure that many of you will want time to think it over. Please feel free to talk amongst yourselves. If any of you have questions or have made your descision, please come find me. I can't thank you enough for coming!"

Cotton sighed as permission was given to mingle with the other birds. She scratched her head, then made her way to a bush where she planned to find some yummy berries. As Cotton had already made up her mind, she didn't see any reason to talk about it. But she was a little hungry...

Pound was very happy to mingle among the other birds , he wanted to chat with some of Bakers's lot, he was standing up tall trying to spot anyone interesting enough for him. He liked the look of the lassie covered in cotton she had pizzaz...he could tell, with a wry grin he worked his way through the crowd.

Reverend looked around slightly wearily, he was a head of big Ma's after all he should really let this be known, if Claude was to find out it would be the end of him. Claude could never agree with Rev bieng a flock head, he always look for a reason to drop him and this would be brilliant for him.
Reverrend was just interested in talking to U-turn he seemed to be the revolutionary sort in this gathering. He wandered across and tapped U-turn with his wing, after all they had arrived late and had missed what seemed to be a good chunk of the meeting, but Rev preffered to hear it first hand rather than someone else who overheard.

Station sat quite intrigued and tapped her wings together absent-mindedly she wanted to mingle she really did but she diddnt know who to chat to. She liked U-turn she knew him slightly so she waddled over grinning happily all the while he was currently chatting to some other pidge about his ideas and they were throwing ideas around, so she just stood happily overhearing. She then saw a Ma bird walk over and tap U turn.

"Hm?" Cotton asked as a Big Ma bird came. It was easy to tell that he belonged in Big Ma's flock; his feathers were so bright red and orange! Cotton didn't know what to say to this stranger, so she waited for him to speak first.

As Reverend came over to U-Turn, he excused himself from his current conversation and greeted the other bird happily enough. "Reverend, I'm glad that you came," U-Turn told the other bird. "It must have been a hard decision, since you're a flock head... But I really do need someone to talk to Big Ma about this. Do you think you could?" U-Turn's eyes filled with a hesitant hope. "Or know a different bird who could?" U-Turn disliked putting birds on the spot, when they had to answer a difficult question, but U-Turn needed someone to rely on. It was all fair and good if U-Turn could convince Baker, but that would be only half the job.

Reverend shuffled uneasily, there were a lot of pidge here ....and where the hell had Pound got to now? He then spotted him approaching a Baker's girl and rolled his eyes.
'Well U Turn I cant beleive you actually managed it, you really do have guts dont you?' he laughed.
'Oh I dont see why not, I could bring it up in a meeting easily, I dont think it would be hard to get Ma in on this, shes quite easy going for that kind of thing and shes a soft thing of a good yarn or two. It'd be good for the flocks of course. Claude would hate every thought of it but hes a bitter seed he is, but two votes agaist one will see that we agree on this. You have my vote for sure Turn. I just have persuade Ma. Im sure it can be done for our half.'

Revernend ruffled his feathers on his head in thought.

'Its your Baker whos going to be the stcky patch isnt it? No offence intended Turn but he a good sort I remember him when he was with us but hes appauling for keeping a grudge. We also hear that he puts quite a spin on Ma's birds too.'
Reverend laughed
'One pidge told me the other day a Bakers bird called her a 'chick eater' can you believe? some rumours really do snowball dont they?
We get it too of course its the seperation what does it of course rumour really do fly. This will help kill off some misconceptions im sure.'

Pound meanwhile had strutted up to Cotton, all grin and charm.
'So are all Baker's lot this lively then?' he looked around the sombre gathering with mild amusement. He could help but have a mild dig at Baker's bunch, it was wired into him.
'You seem like an alright sort though so they cant all be so bad anyway'
he grinned widly
'Pound a pint by the way' he cooed throwing out a wing dramticly
'....and you would be?'

he ventured motioning towards her.

Cotton blinked, slightly disturbed by how easily Pound spoke to a bird from an enemy flock. "Cotton," she supplied as Pound paused. "It's nice meeting you, I suppose," she ventured. "Perhaps, next time we meet, it will be legal." Cotton ruffled her feathers uncomfortably. She still remembered the time when she got into a sticky spot with Baker, and she had no intention of getting herself thrown out of the flock. "These berries are quite good," Cotton said suddenly, plucking one out with her beak. She promptly ate it.

"Thank you, Rev," U-Turn said gratefully. "And I'm afraid you're right... Baker might be a problem... But I'll do my very best!" U-Turn nodded in what he hoped was a reassuring way. "As for me having guts, I think it's more like I have a strong will. This idea came to me a long time ago. I tried to push it away, but it only came back stronger than before. Finally, I'm putting that plan, that idea, into action. And I won't let go." U-Turn said all of this quite solemnly, which was unusual for the jolly bird. "I'm only glad that my plan is working so well, so far..."
