Ibilisi seethed as she walked, a deep frown permanantly set on her face. That miserable coward Liza had left her, and now she didn't have anyone at all to help her in her quest to take over the World. Needless to say, she was furious.

"How dare he!" She cursed out loud, her tail whipping violently from side to side. "How dare he just leave me like this!" Her voice was filled with rage as she thought about what she would do to that lion if she ever came across him again. "I'll kill him..." She hissed, her black eyes flickering darkly.

Not far from where Ibilisi was raging, a very large and very strange-looking lion was watching her. His eyes were as black as night, and his fur was tatty and rugged, as if he hadn't washed himself in weeks. The expression on his face was difficult to read, as he remained seemingly emotionless as he watched the bright red lioness. Once he was sure of what (or rather, who) he could see, he moved.

Despite her raging, it wasn't long before Ibilisi became aware of the presence of another. Hissing, she lowered her body into an attacking position, ready to strike whoever was following her. "Show yourself!" She roared, the fur on the back bristling sharply.

A good fight would usually cheer her up, but the furious red lioness was definatly not in the mood. All her plans had gone up in smoke, and now she had nothing. Needless to say, she had had a very bad week. What she didn't know was that it was about to get better.

The large and brooding lion payed no mind to the terrible mood that the red lioness was obviously in. He was fully aware that she had a temper on her, but that had never mattered to him. After all, she was his mother.

In reality, Katili's mother had passed away a long time ago. She had gone out in search of revenge on those that had tried to hurt her beloved son, and had ended up being fatally injured. She died not long after returning to Katili, but not before promising that she would somehow come back to him. Now, he was positive that her promise had been fulfilled, and that this red lioness was his mother reincarnated.

With a crooked smile on his face, he suddenly broke into a run, and headed straight for Ibilisi.

Ibilisi barely had time to react when her eyes finally fell on the seriously large male. Since the word panic was not in her vocabulary, she simply stood firm, ready to fight him if need be. He was massive though, and the small red lioness knew better than to start fights that she had no chance of winning. So rather than go on the defensive, she relaxed somewhat and allowed the male to reach her, although she still remained cautious.

"Who are you and what do you want?" She said with a growl, a deep frown still set on her face. She actually had to look up to reach this male's eyes, he was so big compared to her. It was times like this that she cursed being below average size for a lioness.

When Katili reached the small female, his strange black eyes darted over her quickly. Her size, her colour, even her frown all reminded him of his mother. After all his searching, he was sure that he had found her. "Mother." His voice was deep and rasping, but the feelings he had for this lioness who he believed was his mother reincarnated were unmistakable.

Not really giving her much choice in the matter, he lifted a paw and roughly dragged her in close to him for a very disturbing cuddle. "I've missed you."

"Mother?!" Ibilisi roared as she was dragged into a hug, but no matter how hard she struggled, the huge hulking lion was just too strong. She scratched at his legs and his face, but his thick layer of fur provided a fair amount of protection.

"Let go of me you beast!" The red lioness had no idea what to do. She had never ever found herself in a situation that was impossible to solve with strength and brutality. She continued to struggle, but there was no way the male would even loosen his grip. "What do you want from me?!" She hissed, slowly becoming tired from all the thrashing she was doing.

Katili was a bit confused by the struggle that the red female put up. His mother had always been extremely affectionate towards him, and never violent. Still, he was sure that it was her, and that she simply must not have remembered the promise she made. "Mother, you promised that you would come back to me, and here you are. I've missed you." The way he spoke was cub-like, despite the fact that he was clearly not a cub.

Once he had cuddled her enough, Katili let the red lioness go. He then sat there, just staring, his head slightly tilted. Again, the lioness confused, this time with her words. "I just want to be with you. I want it to be like back when I was a cub. I've missed you so much." Although the large male's eyes remained dark and emotionless, an expression of hope was on his face. Hopefully his mother would remember everything, and things could go back to the way they were.

Ibilisi jumped back as soon as she was released. What the HELL was going on here? As she stared at the huge lion with anger boiling up inside her, something suddenly clicked. If he had wanted to kill her, he could've easily done it by now. The reason she was still here was because he seemed to think that she was his mother.

Of course, this was impossible. Ibilisi had never had cubs. In fact, the male appeared to be older than she was. Clearly, there was something seriously wrong with him. Perhaps though, she could make it work. After all, a strong male would be a useful tool to any ambitious female.

Once all the pieces had finally come together in her mind, she smiled, albeit rather sinisterly. "Oooh yes, the promise. I remember now...son."

Katili's face lit up (as best it could) at the red female's revelation. She had finally remembered the promise she had made all those years ago, and now they could spend the rest of their lives making up for lost time. Katili couldn't be happier. Then suddenly, the male's mood shifted. A dark and distant expression crossed his face. "I made them pay you know. The ones that hurt us. I made them pay."

Ibilisi frowned and tilted her head as the male's mood changed. "You made them pay huh?" It then occured to her that she would have to try harder to keep this act up. If he were to discover that she wasn't really his mother, she would most likely be killed.

"Sorry...dear..." She winced, as if saying the word dear actually hurt her. "I still don't remember everything. Please can you tell me what happened?" Once she knew all the facts, it would be much easier to play this part.

The large hulking male nodded slowly before taking in a deep breath in order to tell the story, despite the fact that it pained him everytime he thought about it. "When I was a cub, I was bullied by a group of lions. One day they went too far, and I almost died. That's when you went to confront them yourself." A sad expression crossed his face, reflecting the part of him that was still young and innocent, despite what happened next. "They hurt you really badly. When you came back to me, you promised me that somehow you would return, even though you were badly hurt. You promised that everything would be OK as long as I kept looking for you."

Once he had finished telling the story, the stony gaze returned. "Once I was old enough, I tracked down the ones that hurt you and ripped them limb from limb. I made it so that they could never return."

Ibilisi's eyes widened as she listened. So he thought that she was his mother reincarnated. This was all so weird, but she could see the golden oppertunity that was now in front of her. With this male's help, she was sure she could take over the World.

She grinned at the end of the story and licked her lips. "I'm so proud of you son. Killing those cruel lions. Your mother is so pleased." Saying that, she joined Katili at his side and gave him a brief nuzzle. "Come now, we have much to do." Ibilisi couldn't keep the smile off her face as she considered how lucky she had been for this male to find her. The future was definatly looking bright.

Katili smiled as he recieved his mother's approval. Although his eyes remained dark and unfeeling, it was obvious that he was happy. Everything would be OK now, he was sure of it. "Yes mother." With that, he followed the red female as she began walking. For him too, the future looked bright.
