Nanako sauntered through the Savannah as she sung, not really paying much attention to where she was going. The orange hyena had been instructed to go out and listen, bringing back information about the creatures who were either passing by or living near Xibalba's personal den. She was to engage everyone in conversation no matter how much they didn't want to talk, and gather as much information as she could. To Nanako, the prospect of going out and meeting others wasn't such a horrible thing. Surely Thambo found it much more of a bother.
The orange hyena couldn't help but chuckle at the thought of her companion talking to other creatures. He probably just sneered at them, and demanded that they tell him everything they knew, and make it snappy he was on a schedule. He had about as much tact as a brick wall. But Nanako didn't mind too much. Thambo wasn't exactly the cuddliest of hyenas, but he was a good ally to have. She had to admit that much.

Ahsante rarely left the saafety of his packlands but he wasn't really feeling himself and so he had left the lands. It wasn't normal for him and he was better off at home being a loner. Why he had left the lands? Only the Gods knew!
He moved slowly, not too far from those lands he knew all too well. However he didn't care all that much. He wasn't expecting to meet any other hyenas and he avoided contact with other species, they were a waste of time and all he would want to do is kill them. Lions, leopards, cheetahs and anything in between. They were all a waste of space. Only wild dogs he would tolerate and only then as slaves.
He was a grumpy thing, there was no doubt about that.

Oooh wait, what was that moving about over there?
Nanako stopped her singing to look, lifting her head to peer into the distance. Why, it looked like a fellow hyena! Today was her lucky day! She had had a feeling that hanging around the graveyard pack would allow her to meet up with more hyenas. Ever since her run in with Esther, she had been aware that there was a pack of hyenas nearby. While Nanako didn't mind speaking to other species, she liked to do it when she had a little back up. You could never be too sure if they were going to attack you without warning.
With a lopsided grin her face the hyena picked up her pace, moving at a swift trot towards the other hyena. Well, better announce her presence and give a yell. Let the other hyena know she was coming up. "Hey there! Fancy meeting you here!"

Well that was all rather annoying. So much for trying to have a nice peaceful walk on his own away from civilisation.
"Isn't it just wonderful?" His sarcasm was clear and obvious. He was hoping to try and put her off talking to him. He didn't want to talk to another hyena and he had this thing about females. The only girls he had ever met were completely crazy or the biggest bitches the world had ever seen! It wasn't the best start to any relationship as one might guess.
Oh females shouldn't exist!

Wooooah, had she just met another grouchy hyena? Jeeze, what was it with the males in this area? All they did was grumble and frown, not to mention try and avoid normal conversation. But Nanako would not be so easily put off by this grey male. He hadn't turned and snarled at her, so that meant he was probably a little nicer than Thambo. She could assume that her ears would be safe if she got a little closer and struck up a conversation with him.
"Wonderful? It's even better than wonderful, but not if you keep speaking like that. Get dumped today or something? Booted out?" Nanako grinned as she moved to sit near him, pink eyes watching him as she spoke. She wasn't going to let a little sarcasm ruin her fun. "What's your name, stranger?"

Ahsante just looked at the female and groaned. Why are all females such idiots? Is it really that hard to realise that he didn't want any company and wished to be left alone!
"If you say so." He stretched not liking the fact that she had come so close to him to sit down. Really, maybe if he bit her she would go away but even that seemed unlikely. Females, why do they exist?
"Ahsante." He just stated his name, didn't ask what hers was didn't even explain that was his name. He really didn't want to talk.

"Well you're certainly not very excited. How do you go about living from day to day if you're always this dreary? You can't spend the rest of your life hating everything. You have to enjoy some things in life! Like food, for example. Food is always good." Nanako was not stupid, no matter how she may have come off to strangers. There was a certain hidden intelligence in what she did, which was the reason that she was kept on by Thambo. If she had actually been as stupid as she sometimes came off, the black hyena would have left her long ago.
"Ahsante? Bit hard to say, but you can't help what you were named. I'm Nanako. Pleasure to meet you." She offered him a grin, before leaning to the side so she could scratch her ear. "So... Ahsante... what sort of things do you enjoy in life?" Anything to get her talking about food. She wasn't very subtle about her great love in life, but there you had it. Nanako wasn't exactly the subtle type.

Ahsante just stared at her, can anyone be more annoying?
"I never said I hated everything..." Not that it seemed to make a difference. "I love spending time with myself... without anyone else." Can he hint any more? Probably not, after all she seemed to be avoiding his hints like the plague.
Hard to say? His name wasn't hard to say. Nanako was a hard name to say but he held his tongue, something he was all too good at, unlike this female it seemed.
"Like I said... I love spending time with myself." That was all.

"Well just 'cause you don't say it doesn't mean it isn't true, you know. You certainly don't give off the vibes like you love everything. It's not that hard to pick up," Nanako pointed out, seemingly unfazed by most of what her newest companion was saying. She had been traveling with Thambo for long enough that she stopped caring how many ways the grumpy type tried to push her away. Thambo groused as much as this guy did. She only had to watch for his teeth. Other than that, she was totally safe.
"By yourself? Jeeze you are boring. That's all you like to do? You seriously need a hobby or something, Sante, or else you're going to get bored!" Nanako fancied herself the judge of all boring hobbies, and spending time by yourself was definitely close to the top on her list. "What are you gonna do when a girl shows up and wants to know what you're into 'cause she's interested in you? Is that all you're gonna say?"

Ahsante was starting to get some what frustrated.
"Just because you don't hate everything doesn't mean you then love everything!" Oh how stupid can females be? He was normally quite bothered about being polite with others but the temptation to turn around and leave right now was growing with the second.
She was now shortening his name? Oh how rude!
"I don't get bored thank you and my name is Ahsante." He added a snarl at the end. Will she just leave already?

Nanako resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Boys. They got their tails in a knot so easily. This one especially. "That's not what I saaaaid, Sante. You have to listen closely! Pay attention! I said you don't give off the vibes that you love everything, and you don't even give off the vibes that you even like stuff! So why should anyone think that you actually like doing things when all you do is frown and pout? That's all I'm saying."
"Yeah, sure, and my fur is black right?" This time she really did roll her eyes. This guy was even harder to talk to then Thambo! They probably wouldn't even talk to each other if they ever met. They'd just glare and go sulk somewhere. Yeah, that sounded right. "And you didn't answer my question, you know."

Ahsante just stared at her. "Why should I answer any question if you can't even say my name properly?" He snarled a little showing his teeth. Oh how annoying this was turning out to be. He really didn't want to have issues with another female. Why were all these stupid females the same? He couldn't stand them seriously.
"I am perfectly happy without interfering females like you sticking their noses in." He wanted her gone already. The blue female he had put up with, this one he wanted gone. She was worse then Mafa though less vicious but still worse. Ugh seriously what was wrong with females. It seemed Ahsante had become one of the most sexist hyenas that ever lived.

"Because I asked you! And it's polite to answer!" Had Nanako been a human she probably would have waggled her finger at him. Instead she settled for just raising an eyebrow. "And what's wrong with my nickname? Everyone has to have a nickname. Besides, you name is too long to remember! You can give me a nickname too if it makes you feel any better." Yeesh. This guy was such a stick in the mud. But he hadn't snapped at her yet, so she was still safe.
The orange hyena scowled at the insult. Interfering? Now that wasn't very nice. Even Thambo didn't call her names. "I was just trying to start a friendly conversation and you have to go al l 'I'm too cool for you' on me. Yeesh. You act like nobody's good enough to talk to you or something. Is your mom one of those god things or something?"

Ahsante laughed. "It's fine I don't even remember your name!" He smirked, he wasn't lieing. He honestly couldn't remember her name! "It's polite to call someone by their name but you seem to have issues with that so why should I then be polite and answer?" It seemed fair enough to him and so that is what he was going to stick by.
God thing? What was she on about?
"No you just bore me. I can't help it if you are boring and irritating now can I? That is your own fault." He didn't have the best ways of talking to others but again it was just because she was female. Had she been male then she would have had more of a chance of getting a conversation out of him.

He didn't remember her name? Nanako coughed, doing her best to hide the laugh. "Wow. Man, I thought you males were supposed to be pretty smart and you can't even remember something I told you not even five minutes ago." The orange hyena grinned at Ahsante, tilting her head when he avoided her questions again. This guy really didn't listen.
"Well, if you're going to sulk all day, then that's not my problem. I'd be careful how long you stayed around here though. I'm pretty nice, brushing off insults and all, but my partner doesn't always feel the same way." She knew that Thambo would probably retaliate verbally and not physically, but she liked being able to use him as a threat. He could be a nasty little p***k when he wanted to. "Anyways, catch you later Sandy! Enjoy your moping!" With a cheeky grin the female sauntered off, deciding that she needed to go and find some food. All this talking made her hungry!
