Once your registered with the Dragon Cave, you can start picking up eggs. To get an egg, you have to go to the Dragon Cave (click on someone's egg or hatchling). If there are any eggs available, they will be shown here. Click on one you would like to raise, if the egg has not already been picked up, you will be given a URL code for that egg. Take your pick of the URL codes (I prefer the Tiny URL), paste it in your signature and your good to go.

New eggs are placed in the Dragon Cave every hour. So if you want an egg trying looking for them on the hour (1 o'clock, 2 o'clock, etc.). Of course, if someone abandons an egg, it shows up right away.

Actually, I was just looking around in their forums, and they've changed that. It's something like every five or ten minute mark, now. Hang on, I'll go find it... Got it. Quote: A random amount of eggs is produced every hour on the hour. (For those that are wondering, the server is on-time with GMT) If you visit the cave at the beginning of the hour, you should see some eggs. A small amount of eggs may also appear every 5 minutes after that (x:05, x:10, etc) To get an egg, click one of the eggs. If someone else gets the egg first, just keep retrying. You may also be able to get an egg that someone else has abandoned. If there are abandoned eggs or hatchlings, a message will appear on the home page of the site.

Because it's made out of stone and doesn't move as fast? 4laugh on a sidenote, it still have over 4 days before it needs to grow though smile so give it a bit of a time, they usually don't grow before 3.5 days or around there

I have the worst luck trying to get eggs... sweatdrop It seems like every time I click on one, it's all ready gone, and then when I finally DO get one, I end up with 3 of the same exact ones. Oh well, I'll just keep trying.

A tip would be waking up really early or going to bed later when the Americans aren't as busy on the site. Middle of the day European-time is a great time to get eggs as all the Americans are snoozing and that is when I succesfully can snatch any egg smile

Another tip.
Read the egg descriptions quickly.
Try to remember ones you have. And click ones that seem different.
=]
I've learned that
warm eggs are red. strange markings are skywing puddles and water shy eggs are mint
I forgot what I saw when I got my purple and pink eggs though. =[
But middle of the night Eastern Time works pretty well for me since I can't sleep before around 2 am est

Wow, purple is a color you didn't expect in an egg! It's bright. And Pink
for silver it's: The egg gives a beautiful glow
gold: Something with looking metallic
Vines: The egg is resting in a patch of grass even though there is no sun in the cave
Green/earth: The egg is surrounded by pebbles? or something
Black: The egg gives off a green glow
Orange: The egg gives off an orange aura
Dino eggs: The egg looks like it doesn't belong. It is brightily colored with big white spots
Paper: The egg is tiny and consists of piece of folded paper
Chicken: The egg is a third of the size of a normal egg
White: Long description about the egg being very clean and devoid of scratches
Twoheaded: The egg is split in color
trying to remember what more eggs there is confused

I've found that in some cases it is easier just to go for the abandoned eggs, especially if you are just starting out like I am, the eggs there are usually ones that were just picked up, but were repeats. You can see how long they have left to live, and what kind of egg they are because even though they don't have a description, you can see there color.

yes and not as many people haunt the abandoned page as much as the front cave for eggs. The eggs are usually bred eggs that comes up though, and some from a previous day that got clicked wrong. sweatdrop

It also usually pops up if you wait a few minutes after eggs are released, usually a minute or two, people who clicked wrong then will also be releasing the ones they don't want
