wahmbulance Warning wahmbulance
Ok...again, possability of blood, murder, and foul language. If this offends you please don't read. This warning will probably be for most of their rps sweatdrop

Gazing at the thin trickle of blood that curled in the water, Marinette felt a pang of sadness. The work had grown dull. There was no challenge to this anymore. Slicing the binding on her latest work she moved away letting the other beta flee with a single cut.

What was wrong with her? Once such an act would have been beyond comprehension. To let a work get away without anything done? Yet she felt no desire to pursue her art. Instead she slide the blades back into their skin sheaths under her fins, her mind occupied with the question.

Perhaps...yes that must be it! Her crimson eyes widened with shock of understanding. Having shared her work once with another, she now felt the desire to see the approval in those odd white eyes. How had this happened?!

User Image A little skirmish. Not much of a war but still better than nothing. Unfortunately the best fights to start were those where it was not obvious he was the instigator of the situation. They lasted longer that way, and he was not singled out as the cause. When he was singled out as the cause yes it sometimes led to a great and glorious battle... but usually whatever he started was ended one way or another. Either he killed the others... or the two factions -how annoying- made up.

Bah. Oguntocado hated when they made up. Which was why whispers playing on already existing fears were the best weapons of discontent he had.

Which meant little enough for his scimitars to cut through. Bah.

Still he was not exactly bored this day. The taste of conflict and blood in the waters still fresh in his mouth and memories. He left the 'warring' beta to stew against each other for a while, wanting a change of pace. Perhaps a new idea how to instigate it further. The problem with wars... sooner or later they ended when enough had died. Always that problem of running out of living bodies.

There was a taste and feel of blood around him from the 'war' that Oguntocado did not bother to hide or wash away. Should it call a shark to him he almost relished the idea of using his scimitars on it. But none came. then there was a hint of blood not so far away that he felt he recognized. Curious he turned white face that direction and began a spell. Dark magic. Blood. He had touched his scimitar and his fin to her blood. Magic enough to find out if this was her...

Marinette.

A smirk tugged the sewn lips. Ah. Something interesting. Perhaps she had begun a new work? Or maybe she was looking for one? There was not enough blood entering the water for too many cuts. He swam towards where the signs said she was. Interesting was good.

He would find her alone gazing, unseeing out into the open waters. The only blood on the current was her own, faint, as her fin began to stop bleeding. Her mind worked over the problem it had seized on.

How had this come to pass? One such as she should never wish to share her art, she never had before. Yet now watching the blood flow alone paled in comparison to the hint of approval she had seen in red eyes. Eyes that had reflected understanding of what it was to be who they were.

Shaking her head at her own folly, she made up her mind to go and find the work she had let escape just moments before. Perhaps the silly young female hadn't made it far. Turning, however, her eyes widened in start to see him behind her. Her first thought was had he somehow knew her mind, that her thoughts called to him?
PostPosted: Fri Mar 21, 2008 3:37 pm

No... no if her thoughts had called to him Oguntocado was as unaware of the occurrence as she. The black outline of a five pointed star crinkled on his forehead almost between his eyes as his brow lifted curiously. Why did one such as she look startled to see him? Lightly he frowned, disappointed. Why, he could not even answer himself that. A graceful but deadly slash of one sword through the water between them, barely slicing it or moving more than needed. An odd greeting, but a greeting nonetheless.

Red, white-less eyes glanced around them. What... no art today? He swam forward, lightly putting a fintip to the sealing wound of her scars. His white face a mask that posed a question. Her blades had recently been out -where then was her 'work'? There was not enough blood in the water.

She shivered at the light touch her crimson eyes going distant. She wasn't sure how to explain what was happening so she didn't even try. Instead she bowed her head, unsure now why she felt ashamed to have let her prey go.

Looking back up at him she smiled faintly. It didn't matter how he had come to be here, he was here now. She shrugged to indicate it didn't matter her smile turning wicked. Perhaps they could hunt together. Their styles may vary, but they were both predators at heart.

Hm? Now what was this? Red eyes darkened with a frown as they watched her crimson irises gaze off into nothing. Then the head bow... something like his 'nanny' would do in her 'worship' of father and their family. Or his weak elder sister, who though strong in the dark magics and practices of their art bore little of the delight the rest of them did in causing pain to others herself. Though at least she never diverted the rest of them from their pleasures. So supportive of them all really, all while looking for her dark knight.

But to see Marinette thusly... Oguntocado drew the touch of his fin away, studying her. That faint smile. That shrug. It did not seem to fit with the artist he had met. Then her smile shifted and he looked at her with raised brow dissembling it. On its own he thought he knew what she was saying with such an evil curve of her mouth, but with what it followed he was not so sure.

Besides... what would she wish to gain from a hunt with him? They were sure to hunt different types of prey. But... well he did have a desire to watch her work again. Perhaps ... yes. Oguntocado felt he would like to hold some fool beta while he watched her work. Red eyes flickered as sewn lips curled menacingly in a smirk. He inclined his head to the right. Would she go with him then. Or did she have another idea.

Marinette nodded her agreement, she would like to hunt with him, whatever their prey may be. She felt compelled to speak to him, and as one that rarely questioned her inclinations she followed them.

"I have never hunted with another before, so forgive me if I seem a bit...unusual in my methods." Her voice though soft, was rather low and pleasant, not high and thin like most female voices. " When hunting alone I usually have to trick or trap my prey, never daring anything larger than say a male your side. However..if you would be so incline, I see no reason between the two of us, we could not seek larger prey."

It was the most she had ever spoken in her life, yet it felt natural to speak her mind thus to him. Of all creatures here was one that might understand the needs which drove her.

Her voice did not bear the mysterious magic of his sister's but Oguntocado found it pleasing. Perhaps magical of its own right. Not irritating, being much of a plus. He could grow to like hearing her speak.

The male looked thoughtful. A large male, hm? Perhaps larger than himself? His own strength could hold a male of that size. With magic... well. He could get something larger. Either something not beta... or a pair of beta. He wasn't exactly small by beta standards. He could even call something to them, using his magic. But would there be much fun in that.

He nodded his understanding, lightly touching her fin with his own. 'Pick who you will' he seemed to say. 'I will hold them for you.'

Her crimson eyes widened in something close, or as close as she had ever felt to joy. Not only would he hunt with her but help her art? Oh that was a blessing, to her, not to her prey. Nodding her head she had no more turned to begin her hunt than she saw what looked like a young shark dart pass the reef.

A surprised laugh spilled from her lips of it's own accord, a surprisingly joyful and happy sound as she let her gaze follow the young shark. Not more than a few feet in length it would be unthinkable for her alone, no matter how she had wished before, but now...

She cocked her brow at him, almost as if challenging him to prove himself worthy of being her hunting partner. There was no reproof in the gaze, only the asking of his daring.

A shark? Oguntocado quirked an impressed brow, starting to smirk. Was she testing him then? Well... he certainly could not hold down a shark even of that size with brute strength. Not without damaging it. Take it out... yes he could do that with just his strength and his blades but where would the beauty be in that this day? No no no. He was no artist but Oguntocado knew that would not do at all.

Using his blade Oguntocado made a cut upon himself, watching the tendrils do into the water. They should entice the shark to them within moments, poor dumb beast. Not that he really could feel sorry for the creature. Even as the blood rose he was murmuring the words to a spell, his blood becoming ropes that would not break. Red eyes flashed as the creature came upon them and his grin stretched his stitches into a vile smirk as Oguntocado cast the ropes of blood around the creature. Now he held it with flesh and magic, red eyes looking to Marinette in an offering of the beast to her.

((yes... I am totally making up the spell and magic. *makes face* Like I know anything about real black magic...))

Her breath caught in her throat. Never had she imagined the kind of power this strange male wielded as easily as she used her blades. A strange hunger rose in her. What she would give to be able to use such powers, but something told her now was not the time.

A soft, tender smile touched her lips as she gazed at her 'present'. Oh this work would be one to remember for all time. Drawing a delicate blade from the fin nearest her body, she studied the markings on Oguntocado's body.

The world seemed to fade away as she began to work. His spell held the thrashing creature in a way she would have never been able to do on her own. Slowly but surely the patterns that coated Oguntocado's own skin emerged as bleeding cuts on the young shark. It was her own tribute to him.

Red eyes glimmered as he watched the female, holding the small shark to him with fins and blood-ribbon bonds. His markings. Now that was different. And unexpected. Huffing softly Oguntocado puffed a little, in an almost proud manner. Well why not? He was his parents' son and he had enough pride in his appearance. Why should his markings not be duplicated for art.

Especially art such as this.

Enthralled he watched Marinette work, never forgetting his part in keeping the 'work' still. The smooth skin of the shark with no natural markings of its own seemed to him a perfect surface for any design. Idly, Oguntocado wondered what type of shark this was. How large would it grow? The thought made him smirk, stretching his stitched lips.

He was kind of honored at her choice of designs. Better somehow because she did not make a big deal about it.

Absorbed in her work, she didn't seem to notice his smirk, nor the cries of the baby great white under her blades. She knew the shark would live and grow immense as only one of his kind would, a fitting tribute to her new friend.

She was oddly careful in her work on the young beast, more so than he had seen her with her other victim. Anytime that the pain seemed to much for the young shark she would stop and stroke it's dorsal fin until he began to fight again, then she would resume her work. It was almost as if she respected the creature. And why shouldn't she? It was like them, a predator drove by it's needs.

She began to sing softly under her breath, the tune was surprisingly soothing and easy to listen to. Attuned as he was to the dark magics, he would hear something else as well. It was faint, just the softest touch of power, untrained but still there. Marinette did not even seem to be aware of anything but her blades and her work.

How very odd... the differences in how she worked on this beast compared to that pathetic beta he had watched her slice into beauty previously. Thoughts on why that was would have to wait until another time however as new thoughts took precedence at the sound of Marinette singing. Or rather the feel of her singing. What now was this? Red eyes narrowed in a contemplative gesture. There was a trace of power there. Something like Malia's magically alluring voice? No... different than that though the tool was similar. Oguntocado listened with as much raptness as he dared. So faint... both the tune and the power. Raw. Unfocused. Unfettered. Something he would be interested in learning of, when not otherwise using his own magic already. If through foolish curiosity he lost control of the shark by losing his focus and concentration he could well lose any chance of learning anything about this new development. Not to mention, the idea of this artist coming to her end so soon left an unsavory taste in his mouth. Oh, he did not care really -but it would be a terrible waste of his new diversion. Not to mention now he was keenly interested in discovering what this untapped power was within the artist.

That was all.

She didn't seem to notice his rapt attention all her devotion fixed on her work. It was almost absently that she stopped singing and spoke to him again "I half wished I had my brother's skill with dyes, to set color into his skin would be most pleasing."

It would be stunning to see not only his marks but his colors duplicated on the great beast, alas it was not meant to be. But more interesting was her mention of family. As large as the ocean was, it was to be expected there might be more beta like them about, but to find two so near...well that was just fascinating.
