Sorry, but those answers were rather... newbi ish. D: Not really deep on anyones character at all. And 'sword' was spelled wrong.
Lina: A book of spells or cooking.
Gourry: Girls for Dummies, delux addtion
Amelia: A german pointer puppy.
Zelgadis: A new cloak/amplipher/spell.
Filia: Lingerie, to match her garter.

Ok, so yeah I didn't go deep. I was just getting the obviose facts. Thinking just hasn't been my thing sence school is out. Plus, I do my best in spelling. Even though I'm in colege, I still have work to do with spelling. sweatdrop

* Gourry = A new sword or an encyclopedia for the 7years old
* Amelia = A flag writen "justice power"
* Zelgadis = A cure of course ...
* Sylphiel = A mini gourry
* Xellos = A lot of people/dragon to kill or torture
* Filia = A new tea set or an anti-stress
* Valgarv = a Gaav plushie

I took a look in the dictionary. There is a sward but : the grassy surface of land.
So it's obviosly something word prerfect wouldn't catch me on. The word does exist. Just not the word I want to use.
