Her breath came in heavy, visible puffs as she ran though the thick and icy rain. She'd seen the storm coming of course. But she'd had no idea it would be such a bad and chilly one! There was nothing Makhi hated more than the cold. It seeped into her very soul, leaving her shaking and miserable.
Gray orbs with the slightest hint of blue darted about the open land, desperately looking for any place she could take shelter from his horrible storm. It seemed luck was not on her side, however, as she had been running for an hour already trying to escape it.
She slowed to a trot, body heaving as she tried to suck in the air running had stolen from her, only to lose it again as she went spiraling forward into the mud. Blinking in confusion, her eyes moved to the root laying innocently behind her, uncaring that it had so cruelly tripped her! ... Wait.. A root?
Her eyes followed it slowly to the dark and massive three she had been unable to notice due to the rain and night around her.
Finally!
Without wasting any more time, she hauled herself out of the mud, shaking her body to clear it and the rain as best she could from herself before leaping back over the roots into the shelter of the gnarled tree. Such a place, with the way the roots formed, would easily make a good den, and she hoped she was not intruding into someone's home.

The golden honey hued finally who was dispertly trying to find shelter did not even think to notice she was not alone. Towards the back of this some what cave like shielding of the roots she noticed a dark female huddled up around herself. She was sleeping peacefully. She pelt was hidden from the other female sight but she knew from her smell that she was indeed a lioness. A large thunder clap was heared and the female that was once sleep was now wide awake from snapping from her sleep with a jump and a bump to the head.
She growned as she fell to the ground her paws moving to her head holding it as she whimpered slightly. The female then began to grow scared as she looked over at the other lioness. She said nothing as she back up slightly. She kept her eyes on the other hardly blinking as if thinking that would give the other female the chance she needed to get her. To break past her guard and get to her.
"What...What are you doing here?" She finally said then she looked to the opening seeing the storm outside.
"It came...It finally came." she whispered to herself.

She stopped, watching the other female in worry, a soft frown coming to her lips as her empathy reached out to the slightly younger one. Her motherly instincts were fast to kick in. A gentle smile replaced her frown, silvery eyes locking with the younger girl's. Her movements were slowly as she moved closer.
" I didn't mean to frighten you. I'm just here to escape the rain. " She said in her warm, melodical voice. " The water's nice, but it's quite cold. " She stopped just outside of her personal space, tilting her head curiously. " My name is Madhu Makhi. What's yours? "
The fear the other had for the storm was obvious to her, and her heart and mind yearned to comfort the girl. Perhaps fate had caught her foot on that limb for this reason? Otherwise the scaled lioness would have been left to face the storm alone.
Slowly she shifted to sit before the other, to show she would move no closer unless she was wanted.

The female said nothing as she looked to her nervously. She then looked out to the rain as she dashed out. Indeed it was cold but a cold she could handle. A cold that to her was very pleasing. For inside her there was no warmth just coldness. Every since a young age she had never felt the warmth of a mother, father or sibling and now that she was a true adult lioness fortune had still banished her from feeling warmth of a male. She turned to the sky closing her eyes letting the water wash down upon her face as she took in several deep breaths as if all her pain and hurt washed away with the rain.
"Thank you." She whispered to the sky. "Thank you for the rain." She smiled slightly as she sat down her face still looking to the heavens though her eyes where closed. The female then began to wounder things that she never had before. Was her pride still alive merely scattered about just like the rain droplets? She the look ahead of her as she opened her eyes as she took a deep breath. She then softly turned her head back to see the other female still hidden under the roots of the big tree.
"You must have a warm heart." she yelled a little from the rain loudness.

She blinked lightly, sitting at the entrance to the cave of sorts, watching the other female curiously. She couldn't help but smile at the comment, head tilting a bit. " Others seem to think so. I only do what comes naturally to me. " She called back, eyes roaming up to the sky.
The rain didn't seem to be stopping any time soon, coming down heavily on the other lioness, and the world around them.
" Do you have a name? " Came her curious voice again, eyes moving back to her.
It seems she was wrong in her guess. The girl seemed to very much like the rain. Why had she seemed fearful a moment then? Shaking the questions from her mind gently, she kept her focus on the world around her instead. It wouldn't do to be day dreaming while trying to have a conversation, after all!

The female turned to the other more as she looked at her before looking to her scale printed paws.
"Its Mina." she said softly as she watched the rain drop onto the mostly white paws. She said nothing more as she then looked back to the sky this time she let her eyes stay open as she trying to search for something she then closed her eyes shaking her head from the excess water.
She then began to slowly move back to the shelter she had found first. She shook off once more once slight hidden from the rain be the tree branches. She then joined the woman sitting with some distance between the two but beside her looking out at the world non the less.
"Do you think the gods are mad at us...mad at our kind?" She said softly as she looked to the great tree then sat under. She sighed a little as she shook her head slightly.
"Ahh forget it I don't mean to prey into what you believe." spoke Mina in a soft voice. once she rarely used unless she was quite displeased or depressed.

She smiled, ignoring that the girl chose to take back her question. " If they were angry at our kind, they would not so willingly take our form and walk among us, would they? " She said thoughtfully, glancing to the girl before her eyes went to the sky.
" We are their creations, and they could never hate us, though they may not always love us. And they may do things that will sometimes hurt us. They only act upon will of the fates, unless directly angered. "
Smiled softly, she turned to look to the other female, eyes kind and tinted with worry. " What is it that troubles you? It can, sometimes, help when you choose to talk about it. And my ears are more than happy to listen to your troubles if it will help to ease your mind. "
Slowly she shifts to settle down across the ground, laying on her stomach and getting comfortable. The rain was still heavy and she was sure she would be here for a while.

"It is only that I miss my home and seek to find it once more." She said softly as she looked to the sky. "The rain always saddens me yet I pray for nothing but rain." She replied to the females question.
"I fear that I may never get there for what some of my former pride members have done however." she said softly. "I do not wish to believe they did something to anger the gods but it seems as though they might have." She seemed to finish taking a deep breath.
"I don't understand it." She said softly as she shadowed the other female and laid down resting her head onto her paws. "I do not know where to start looking for them either...I do not know if any survived like me." She added as she growned softly her tail flicked nervously behind her.
"I mean I almost drowned on that day. Not to mention almost get electrocuted." She said as she shivered at the thought of lightning how ever much she loved rain and water lightning did not mix well with her when the other two where in twined.

She blinked in curiosity at that, moving to the very edge of the rainfall, not wanting to get wet again now that she was finally beginning to dry off.
" Gods can be fickle, and easy to anger. But even for a god it would be difficult to wipe out an entire pride in such a way. You're proof of that. I'm sure atleast a few others like yourself survived.. " She smiled softly, tilting her head.
" They may be hard to find.. But if you do not give up on searching for them, I know that you can find them again. " She gave a nod at her own words, shifting to settle down against the ground and watch he blue female. " Patience is key in any situation. There is someone I dearly wish to see again.. Just to be sure that he is alright. "
" Even though the connection between our hearts tells me that he is safe, and healthy, I still worry, and wish to see him with my own eyes. "
" I know that I cant yet. He left me for a reason, so I must patiently wait to be able to see him once more. "
She smiled, letting her eyes shut in thought as she rests her head against her paws. " Even though the longer it's been, the harder it is to wait... The longer it's been, the more you want to give up... If you give up, you will never meet them again. And so you can never give up. "

She nodded alittle under standing as she then looked to the sky once more. "I guess my path is now set I shall go look for my pride...How ever long it takes I won't give up." she said as she looked to the female.
"I won't give up like the others who clearly have not found me." She said as she began to stand. She then began to walk slowly out into the rain she did not saying a goodbye as she kept walking her mind to clouded with the deperation to find the pride to even look back to the other female that was so helpfull in helping her realize her path.
She did not look back tell she was almost out of sight this is when she gave the other female a nod as if a silently good bye. she then yelled out. "Goodluck in finding him! I'm sure if you are strong he will be too!!"

She let a smile slip to her lips at such words, watching her until she faded into the distance. Slowly, she got to her feet, moving to the back of the small shelter where she could curl up for a nice long rest asfter he escape from the storm.
" Even the strongest have their weakness... If they did not, I would have no need to worry, for Altair is too powerful to speak of... And far too kind... "
She shook her head, sighing and letting the dreams sweep over her, content to be oblivious to the world until morning once more broke across the sky.
