((Continue from Hadarack Desert))


Silfer landed a bit hard on the forest floor. It was obvious that the dragon was tried. Brom jumped down and turn to help Relena. He lifted her out of the saddle and to the ground.

He then turned to Silfer and began to check her health and energy.

Brom immediately left Slifer and went to Ra. After a few minutes he rose from the male dragon and took a deep sign.

"Other than exhausted and overheated, their fine," said Brom.

Relena by now had walked over to Wanda and help her to her feet, "Feeling better?" She looked over to Brom, "So...?"

Brom shook head at Relena, "They will be walking to our campsite a few miles into the forest. There we will rest up and then go to ellesmera."

Relena and Wanda followed Brom to a small valley in the woods. It was surprising to see that the sky was filled with tree branches despite it being a valley on the forest floor. The tree were old, there trunks going far into the sky and branches extend to all sides for hundreds of feet. It as amazing with such foliage that there was room to walk but the tree trunk were spaced out. Only the canopy was dense and mesh together like webs.

The canopy gave a prism-like light glow on the forest floor. The tree leaves could be seen clearly on the forest floor as they walk along it. Brom lead them into forest about a few miles from were they land. There were a few spots big enough for dragon to take off through the canopy but Relena could tell why the elves would wanted to be here. This ancient forest, like the Spire, gave perfect protection.

They made camp and started a small fire for warmth from the cold night that was quickly coming. The dragons, once the waterbags were filled, took a swim in the pond next to campsite to cool down. Steam rose from their hot scale bodies as the cold water washed over them.

Relena looked at the dragons, "Overheated was an understatment Brom."

Brom looked up at Relena as he tossed another log on the fire, "Dragon bodies, especially young ones such as yours and wanda's, heat up very quickly when pushed to the extreme. Young dragons are made for quick and short bursts...older dragons have more stamia to last long in battle. Either way the dragon body heats up and needs to cool down. It is due to their muscle body. As you can see they are nothing but muscle and muscle produce large amounts of heat. The cooling system in your two dragons are not advance enough yet for extended usage."

Relena nodded, "So tomorrow we meet the elves?"

"We don't do anything..."

Brom gave a slight nod, "Yes...but it would have take a few more hours to do anything threatening."

Relena looked at Brom oddly as she brought up the previous subject, "What do you mean..."We don't do anything"...Brom?" She watched Brom lifted his and give a small smile, "You will see. Now go to sleep...it going to be a long day tomorrow." Relena made a frowned at that answered by decided not to presude it further.

She churled up into a ball next to the fire as the yearning for sleep took her. She was slowly awaken by the rustle of leaves but she didn't pay it much attention. Night was still up but the sun was barely a light source on the horizon. It was still to earlier and Brom and Wanda were still asleep. It was not until her dragon let out a faint growl that she bolt up reaching for a sword that was not were she lefted it earlier.

A sword quickly appeared next to throat. Pressure was applied until she feel the sword sharp edge indenting her throats skin. Her body froze at in mid-reach and her breath hitched in her lungs.

"Lamalas Anwamanë," whispered a voice in her ear. It was language she did not know but she figure it was something like "Try me" or "Test my patience".

She glanced at her dragon who was a still as a rock as it watched her attacker carefully. She knew if it work the others her attacker would attack and so did her dragon.

"Mablung Calanor!"

The time the voice was more demanding so she lowered her gaze to the ground and did budge.

The tip of an arrow appeared sudden at Wanda head as an female elf stepped out from the foliage infront her. The elf looked down her nose at Wanda, "Orophin Anwamanë"

"Celebrimbor, Fingolfin Elanessë!"

Everyone attention turned to Brom as he stared the group. He eyed the elf and see that they were thinking of a way to take him down as well. Brom raised his hand to show a ring on his finger, "Maeglin! Elendil Beren Arnatuilë...Elessar Nólatári..."

The weapens were withdrawn immediately and the elf back off, bowing to Brom. The female looked at two girls and their dragons, "Huor Calaelen?"

Brom frowned, "I know you speak english and yes you can trust them. They despise the King."

The female elf arched an eyebrow, "Excuse me if we have to be careful. The king wants us dead more than the Varden itself. We have to be safe." The elf when as red as Wanda at her accusations.

Relena jumped between the two women before a fight broke out, "Alright...we understand. Wanda there was no way to prove that we didn't work for the king. You would have done the same thing!"

The elf huffed and back off before returned to the male she come with, "We will escort you to Ellesmera...this way."

Relena gazed up at the trees. As they moved through the natural maze in the forest the tree became bigger and bigger. The trunks were now wider than her dragons length from tail to head. The branches had long since made an impassible barrier over their heads but amazingly the sun still found a way to shine through the canopy. She looked ahead of her as the tree became bigger than she could discribe. Slowly the trunk of the tree spaced out and road filled in the freed up land. Looking up once more she stopped in mid-walk and just gazed.

A maze of ladders and bridges built into the giant branches laced the canopy above them. Window lined the trees giving a glow that was beautiful to the eye. Stone grew from the tree like it was part of it and balconies and enclosed rooms sat on the trunks of these huge trees. Staircases wrapped themselves around the trunks leading to the many doors and the maze of bridges above. Lantern lined the smaller branches giving light were the sun could not. The tree trunks were so big that homes were made inside of them and it still gave plenty of room for the trunk to support the tree itself.

Brom gave a sight nudge on Relena arm as he moved her forward, "Welcome to Ellesmera..." Relena looked up at Brom over her shoulder with an expression of utter amazement, "It is beautiful."

After the small halt, the group was lead to one of the largest trees but not the tallest. The tree was thicker but the canopy of the other trees rose a go hundred feet above this tree branches. It was like a forest in a forest. It was a group of three trees the branched off at the top and joined at the base. Two large holes gaped from the intwined trees making Relena wondered if the beautiful tree hand been wounded as a seedling. They stop at the large double doors at the base of the joining trees.

The female elf turned to the girls and motion at the door, "You will stay here. Take a few days to rest and relax here with your dragons." She walked up to Brom and nodded before heading off with other male elf.

Brom looked up at the tree, "This is where the elf riders and their dragons used to stay. The large opening above give your dragon access to the inside. Head in and take look and enjoy. I have to talk with the elders about what going on. See you in the morning." With that Brom vanished in the direction of the other two elves leaving girls and their dragons to be eyed by now forming coward of elves.

Relena smiled jokingly as she waved at the group. She was feeling a bit uneased. She leaned over to Wanda slightly, "Ready to go inside now...?"
