You may soon be able to become a Beatle 'Guitar Hero' Quote: (3/18/200 cool If you thought talent hopefuls singing Beatle tunes on "American Idol" was breaking new boundaries, how about this: A future version of Activision's popular "Guitar Hero" video game may be a Beatle editon. The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Sony/ATV, which owns the music publishing for the Beatles, and Activision have discussed the possibility of such a game. "It's something we have talked about and something I'd like to pursue," Sony/ATV's top executive Martin N. "Marty" Bandier told the Times. Activision is already working on an Aerosmith edition of the game, which was announced last month. I'm excited over this prospect! biggrin

No. I hope to God it isn't. It's times like this when I wish the Beatles themselves own the rights. Why'd Michael Jackson sell it to Sony of all the music companies to sell it to? I'd sell it to EMI instead.

I love how you agree Guitar Hero is lame, a huge copy and paste job, overkill, overrated, etc....
But as soon as anything remotely Beatles gets involved, you become stoked.
rolleyes
IMO, Whoever owning the Beatles' rights is just whoring them out/dragging them down.
BUT, if Beatles had to do something remotely-video-game-based, I'd like Beatles songs on Rock Band. Singing Beatles Songs, Drumming Beatles tunes, playing Beatles tunes on guitar > playing songs on guitar.

Don't hate on Sony. The others aren't intelligent/decent? It was with EMI who the Beatles recorded for. It would make more for sense for them to own it wouldn't it?

I think I said before to you I'd like there to be something different for Rock Band as I care very little for the songs on there now. Also, Jump off me! scream I didn't do anything to push your buttons/do anything worth being jumped on for. I saw the possibility of a Beatles version or anything so I said I was excited over a that. Don't even insinuate I'm being hypocritical. Just because I'm excited over a Beatles version of something. Yes I said to myself "Why Guitar Hero? I'd rather it be on Rock band." I said that because I want to be able to sing them and re-enact a Beatles concert which would be awesome. cool This might lead to that in the future. I'm probably not even going to buy this. The Beatles remastered music catalog is due to come out around at the same time I think and that's going to be more important than a game that is a quarter of Rock Band. I didn't magically start liking the series because of a Beatles version. I didn't all of a sudden think Guitar Hero is better than Rock band. I just thought that the prospect of a Beatles version is awesome. Damn..

You act as if Sony killed your children and raped your wife.
You should be happy Beatles went to Sony.
Sony isn't the music's 4Kids after all. They care about their work.

No. So you think Sony will give the rights to M$ and The Big N? It's pretty much their call. I'm pretty sure they'll make sure it's an exclusive if it happens. It's called "smart business."

Sony isn't the music's 4Kids after all. They care about their work.No I shouldn't be happy they did. Michael Jackson sold it to Sony instead of back to the Beatles like it should have been. I'm allowed to not like Sony. You should respect that. I'm sick of you doing otherwise. It shouldn't matter to you if I hate Sony or not and why I hate them. I don't like them. So be it. It's pointless you getting pissed over it.

You're allowed to like whatever you want, but your reasons for hating Sony is ******** stupid. Sony is a great company. If you want to throw around the word "hate", you should actually have a reason to "hate" it. You hating Sony for the two or three stupid reasons... actually, let's call them weak excuses, makes you a closed minded gamer.
I'm not pissed at all. In fact, I'm literally laughing out loud at "i AM ALLOWED 2 HYATE SONY111", nay, this thread in its entirety.
I'm not saying you're allowed to want __________ to get the rights of_______, but when it comes down to it, I would want Sony to have the rights to the music I enjoy above a lot of other companies out there.

Sony isn't the music's 4Kids after all. They care about their work.Wak hates Sony because they're not Nintendo, which he loves. It's a trap that most gamers fall into. I hate Microsoft because I liked the balance that Sony and Nintendo struck back in the day, and M$ had no need or reason to enter the console market. I've only recently allowed myself to enjoy Xbox products, and I'd like to think that Wak will learn that he's allowed to enjoy games not made by Nintendo. But this is a process that we all go through at our own speed, and anger will only further alienate him. Also, it kinda makes sense for him to be more excited about a version of Guitar Hero because of the music. Since that's what the game is essentially all about. The only reason I want to play Lost Oddyssey is because of the soundtrack. Music is a valid reason to like a game. But I am also of the opinion that the only way you could not like Guitar Hero/Rock Band is if you haven't given it a chance.
