He came down from the mountains rarely these days, specially now that he knew Raina was up there. He knew he'd wronged his daughter, and promised himself to make it up to her one day, but today was one of those rare days when he ventured to the warmer valley.
His coat was a bit thicker now, from the climate change, but it only added to his rough looks. Long curled mane hung in his eyes still as he trotted his way through an open valley, lions tail flicking faintly behind him. Pale lavender eyes adjusted to the brightness as he tilted his head to the side looking up to the sky.
It was so clear, he could see Anemone flying somewhere today, he was proud of his youngest daughter. Life had been hard for her, and now even a single mother she strives. So much like her mother he thought with a smile, Kila came into his mind. She'd been his first love, his first true wholesome love..And now he looked away, ears pinned back against his skull for a long moment.
It'd be best to let that go he told himself as he shook out his mane, enjoying the warming rays of the sun now. He stood there, proud and silent in the middle of the valleys floor.
Unknown to him, rainclouds were rolling in..

Kila was by herself in the river, wading. The warmth of the sun brought her back to the sparkling waters. Herons stood fishing as the fish darted around in there underwater world. Her bright blue eyes seemed to smile for her as she dipped her head back into the crystal clear waters. She got back to her feet as the currents picked up.
She hadn't thought much of her family lately, Raina and herself were back on good terms and her other daughter had foals. Her mate, who knows where he was. She tried not to think about it, him. If she did she could feel the subtle pain come back. She looked to the clouds as they blocked the sun and she hissed at them.
Rain.
How she hated it. Feared it and it's wrath.
She started walking figuring she had enough time to get back home. But with every moment one drop fell from the sky. And like wolves, where one went more followed. She kicked up dirt before racing off towards the cliffs. Seeking sheltar. She looked for little groves as she trotted along the base and finally she found one. Small and uncomfertable but it'd do until the rain let up.

As the rain fell, splattering to their watery deaths against his pelt, Benoni shorted and shook his head. There went the warmth of the sun, he thought with a shake of his head.
Both Anemone and Kila feared the rain, he remembered as he felt a bit stricken with panic, stomping his hooves into the earth before he calmed himself. They didnt need his protection any longer..
Pale lavender eyes darkened slightly. Deciding that he had enough rain at the moment, he slowly made his way towards a clutch of little groves, though eyeing them all he duly noted that they were all to small for someone of his size.
Treading past one with a brightly colored mare in it, he paused. Lifting his head a bit more, ears perked he looked back at her. Those familiar colors, those bright eyes..He knew only one with eyes such a color and his daughter was not here..
"Kila..."

Her bright golden pelt had turned dark yellow due to the water, her body shivered as the wind picked up. She put her head against the wall of the grove, it was rough but it kept her mind off the rain. Her ears flared back as she gritted her teeth. It was almost painful to her to just listen to the god forbidden rain.
Her ears perked up at the sound of a familiar voice, all too familiar. She looked up and her narrowed eyes went wide as she tilted her head. She just simply watched him for a moment as if he was an appiration that would disappear within moments. She watched his fearlessness of what made her paranoid. He stood there, rain dripped from his jaw line. Those gruff lavendar eyes watched.
"Benoni," she replied as her teeth chattered from the mixture of wind and rain. She didn't know what to think.

She looked so scared, her small form tucked into the cramped grove. As the rain kept her back, shivering with cold, maybe fear.
"Hello Kila.." He replied, turning his frame around to be facing her, the rain trickling down his face, between his shoulders and down his sides. It was definitely a different feeling at the moment.
To be facing her, now on a day like this.
His instincts kicked in, and he positioned his body, to block the rain from falling on her further. No matter what had passed between them, he couldnt leave her, or any other mare to face their nightmares alone.
He looked to the sky, rain pelting his face with a fierce attack of water against mass, he eyed the clouds. "It will pass soon..Just a bit longer." He said, glancing towards her.

She put her face back on the wall, as if hiding herself from him rather than the rain now. She should've been stronger than this by now. He was there to protect her from her nightmares, indeed. But he had been gone for quite sometime and she had to fend for herself. She knew it was possible, but she would accept his prescence as a lady should and polietly.
She huffed under her breath, stupid rain. She loathed it now. Her hate was rupturing farther.
She could feel the heat arrise in the small cavern due to the wind and rain being blocked. She looked up and over his body at the outside. Her tail curled around her tail. "Thanks," she whispered.

The rain grew colder, but the droplets grew further and further apart, it was slowly passing. Just a random spring shower he thought with a flick of his ear, he didnt know what to think, or feel being this close to her again.
He turned and just nodded his head, "Dont worry about it.." He mused, his voice slightly thick and hushed as he waited for the last of the rain to pass over, as it did.
He purposely shook out his wet coat and mane near her with a faint chuckle before trotting a bit away, so she could come out of her little haven. "Rains gone now..shouldnt be back for a while." He tilted his head, looking up at the sky.
His mane was plastered to his face, a slight steam drafted off his frame.

The rainbow colored mare just watched in silence and as he moved away from the grove she knew it was safe, some distant feeling inside her. Then it sparked in her mind, no matter what she still trusted him. Through it all, she still trusted his word. She sighed softly before flinching and smirking as he sprayed her with water.
Her brow rose, playful? Benoni playful...how unusual. This only happened when he was in a better mood. He couldn't possibly be happy to see her again, could he? She blinked, in a slight daze of confusion.
Her mo-hawk was ruined due to the rain. She shook how most of the wet rain, which made it a bit more fluffy. She kicked back and lept out of that confining space.
She moved past him and flicked her tail at him, letting the strains of water fall in his face as she started to preen herself.
