The tall stallion looked around at the spring flowers just now blooming. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blossoms from apple trees. Apple smiled as he looked at the pink blossoms in the trees. The apple bummed stallion's grey eyes looked around as he walked through the trees.
Apple flicked his grey ears as he walked, the wind made them itch a little. The stallion let his eyes slowly travel up to the sky which was turning the color of his coat. It would probably rain soon and help the trees and flowers grow and bloom. A small smile spread on his face as he went to a day dream of what the flowers would turn into, sweet sweet apples.

November walked along, enjoying the sweet smell of the flowers. Such a tantalizing odor, it made her think of warmer days. She longed for the days spring, how the sun was so warm on her skin, how the trees voiced their happiness with extravagant blooms. November sighed softly, gently nosing one of the blooms, enjoying it's fragrance. A gentle wind caressed her figure, flowing through her mane and tail.
November smiled happily as she walked, smelling the scent of the rain that was yet to fall. A warm spring rain would feel lovely, she decided, and continued walking down the path. She spotted a dappled gray stallion, with very unusual markings. Were those apples on his flank? She approached the stallion, who was apparently lost in his thoughts, a smile plastered on his face. She wondered what he was thinking of. Timidly, not wanting to interrupt his daydreaming, she spoke. "Hello." She wondered if he heard her, her voice was so soft. Perhaps she should have spoken louder.

One of the stallion's grey ears flipped towards the brown mare. His eyes blinked and followed his ear. "Oh, hello there." He said with his smile still on his face. The smile was so small it seemed like a smirk. Apple's long tail dragged behind him as he walked closer to the brown mare. His dark grey hooves dug into the earth as he walked.
When he was at a nonthreatening distance away from the mare, he stopped. His eyes stayed on her timid face, a welcoming smile still stuck on his. "Nice day." He said looking up to the sky and the trees surrounding the two of them. His eyes stopped on a branch filled with blossoms.

November smiled as he spoke. He seemed very friendly, and she wasn't so afraid anymore. "It is a lovely day." she replied with a small nod. "The flowers are all blooming. It seems that during winter I forget how beautiful spring really is." November looked at the blossoms again, noting how small and delicate the petals seemed. "My name is November." she said, turning to him with a smile. "What's yours?"

Apple followed the mare's eyes towards the flowers in the trees. "Yes, one does seem to forget about how beautiful it can be." He said with a slight nod of his head. "Spring is nice, but I'm more of a summer fan. All the apples one can eat." His ears flicked towards the mare when she said her name. "November." The spotted stallion said while trying to embed her name in his mind so he wouldn't forget it. "My name is Apple-oosa, or Apple for short."

November laughed softly. "Summer, huh? Well, I can see your point. I like summer as well." November looked at him upon hearing his name. It fit him very well, she thought. "It's a pleasure to meet you, then, Apple. Your name suits you, I think." She paused for a moment, feeling the warm breeze after so many months of cold. It was refreshing, something luxuriating that was often taken for granted. November was just happy that it wasn't cold any longer. She wasn't a bit fan of winter, not at all.

When she agreed with him, he gently nodded his head and let his smile slither onto his face. His ears flicked away from the breeze whenever he felt it. Warmth, it was nice to have that. Snow was fun, but far too cold. "Its a pleasure to meet you as well, November." His eyes glanced around a little to see what all there was to do.

November smiled at him, noticing how distracted he seemed. "What are you looking for?" she asked curiously. November wondered if he saw something she didn't. She hadn't been quite as observant as she once was. November suspected that having children had dulled her senses, but she had no way to prove it. Not that she regretted having them, of course. She loved them almost more than life itself. She just wished that her memory and her awareness hadn't dulled after they were born. Perhaps it was the way they were always trying her patience, or fraying her nerves?

His eyes instantly shot towards her when she spoke. "Oh, I'm not looking for anything at all." After having his kids, the stallion had become more observant. Wasn't it the duty of the stallion to keep a close eye out for the family? Although he wasn't around his foals that often while they were young, Apple made sure to keep them safe when he was around. His grey eyes shot around as he thought about them both.

November frowned. "It's just odd...that you seem so intent on looking everywhere if you're not looking for something. But, my mate does the same thing now and again. I wonder why." She looked up at the sky, absentmindedly thinking about her mate. It was because of her tendency to daydream that he was so concerned about safety, but, of course, she didn't realize that.

Apple thought about her question for a moment. A question he asked himself now. "Hm... I guess we both just like to keep an eye out for whatever maybe around and lurking." His shoulds raised a little to form a shrug. "Good way to keep family safe." Her question was answered, and so was his.

November smiled. "Yes, I suppose that must be it. It's good that you two are so observant. If anything suspicious was around, you'd be the first to spot it." Truth be told, November really liked the safe feeling she felt around Spotty, and now this stallion. They were always ready for anything, always ready to keep those around them safe.

Apple nodded. "It must be a father's instinct to keep an eye out." He said, letting his ears listen for anything. They weren't only watching out for others around them, but for themselves. His long tail laid on the ground behind him. One day, Apple would find a little friend to help him keep look out.

"I suppose so." November said, smiling a bit. "So you have children of your own, then?" No wonder he was standing at such attention. Children changed almost everything about a soul.
Ah, but it was getting late. The sun hung low in the sky, and November knew that she would have to leave soon.

He looked down a little. "Well, yes I do. I don't see them as much as I'd like." His eyes lifted back up and he nodded his head lightly. Apple looked up at the sky. It was getting darker and this mare would probably want to get to her family.
He smiled at the mare then looked around quietly, flicking his tail lightly to keep any bugs away.
