And the shepperd gathers his sheep
The calling

Nearly a year after the residents of the Hyde walked out through the steel gates just beyond the park, one by one they start coming back.

Why? What could bring them back?

As Eliza Sommers makes her way through the lobby with her pet Francis, a little of the truth can be revealed. The mystical, dark ambiance of the Jekyll de Hyde seem to have beckoned the human girl through her dreams. Voices and images of the hotel taunted Eliza for so long that she could no longer bear the torment and decided to face her fears. As soon as she walks through the doors of the lobby, a change can be noted. It isn't her looks, for Liza is still as morosely colorful as always but something about her aura is different. Perhaps it has something to do with what she drags along inside her chest.

Shortly after Eliza's arrival another familiar face enters the scene. Bright, bubly, pink little Cerisce (Cherry) makes her grand entrance through the doors again, this time followed by dozens of unseen hands who help carry and settle her belongings into the lobby. That, however, is not all.

As Eliza and Cherry catch up with one another, the reasons behind their come back is revealed. Cherry too has suffered vision-related call from the Hyde. Unlike Eliza's dreams, it seems that Cherry has recieved a glimpse of the future and she's home to prevent it.

While the two girls continue speaking, another guest peeks through a window. Who is he? Well, the amorpheous blob of souls, Mr. Neit. Eventually they all come together and Neit, unable to remember the name he gave the year before, is promptly renamed Guess. "It fits his personality," Eliza said.

Far off in the distance, practically in a pocket dimension, another guest makes her way toward the distance. Short, slim, and a frigid countenance, who could the purple-eyed, silve-haired girl be?

Mysteries and Enigmas
Guess (Neit) and Mimi

As it turns out, the silver-haird girl with bright purple eyes is no other than Kusanagi Kyaroru, the girl everybody referred to as Mimi in the old days. At first glance, the cat-like grace in which she carries herself in, along with the more revealing outfits and even the change of hairstyle, one could easily confuse the younger cat for her tempermental elder sibling, Ryoko. Unlike Ryoko, Mimi entered the grand lobby of the Hyde without much fanfare, her aloof coutnenance masked by forced gentility.

It is obvious that the girl has changed and that she's doing her best to be what she once was. Despite her, now, distant nature, it is clear that Mimi is still kind at heart.

As Mimi, Cherry, Guess and Eliza gather around the bar room for hot cocoa, the differences in the Feline are more apperant. For one, she's actually drinking alcohol, something she once despised. Second, Mimi's listening to her intution and something told her Neit, as the group finds out is Guess' old name, is up to no good.

Whilst the others converse, the feline's thoughts wonder off into limbo again and without much warning she demands they go out in search of Midi/Midori, the Park's keeper. Guess, thinking it should be interesting, decides to tag along. (Midori's house is, after all, smack dab in the middle of the cemetary!)

Mimi and Guess end up ditching Eliza and once inside Midori's house it is soon discovered that the young charge has not been within the grounds for a looong time. What could have happened to Midori? Who knows, but it is evident that the seals around the place were dwindeling. The spectre is even trying to come out of his prison (the brandy bottle).

Meanwhile, Guess uses Mimi's distraction to plant a couple of seeds that are sure to cause nothing but chaos....

Pestilence
Somebody do something quick!

Somehow, Mimi managed to gather her troups (Cherry and Eliza) and lead them into battle. Yet another sign that points toward the feline's incredible change. Eliza and Mimi prove to be a formidable team; one kicks a** while the other incenirates. Lycanthrope and witch, who would've thought? Cherry, meanwhile, seems to be dumbfounded by the violence. Even if itCherry had been fighting, the zombies were simply multiplicating, the desease spreading onto the foliage as well.

At one point, it wasn't just reanimated carcasses that the small group was fighting, but violent folliage as well. If it hadn't been for a black-winged creature that swooped down from the skies, the small party of fighters would have been doomed.

But who was that 'hero'? While Guess tried to figure it out and two thirds of the female population were left in the dark, Mimi knew who it was. Sort of. Without thinking she gave into the hope she'd been holding onto for the past year and called out to Hakan only to realize it wasn't.

Well, the demon *looked* like Hakan to some degree, and still carried the boys scent but his personality had changed. His voice too. He seemed so cold and distant. As she withdrew into shock, Guess moved in for the kill.

Unable to help himself, Guess taunted Mimi about Hakan before turning toward the demon and see if he could snap the boy out of 'kill mode'. (Hakan, or rather his more violent personality had attacked Guess). To Guess's misfortune, the psycological taunting he so childishly aimed at Mimi backfired.

To say Hakan is dead or doesn't exist anymore is a Taboo subject with the feline. Cross the line and prepare for the consequences-- something Guess surely had understimated. In the end, despite getting injured herself, Mimi manated to deliver a 'mortal blow' to the surprised blob of souls. But of course, Guess isn't a mortal and he promptly morphed into another creature-- this one creepier than the last.

Meanwhile, Hakan went into some sort of mental overload and passed out, Cherry remained frozen while Eliza watched from the sidelines, dumbfounded. In the end, it was Eliza's magick that saved the day for she realized that Mimi's rage was to reach the point of no return and decided it was best to retreat.

Using some of her own blood (which for intuition's sake she had prepared prior. Sick twisted little witch. tsk! tsk!) the human girl managed to open three consecutive portals which she used to teleport Mimi, the unconcious Hakan and the shocked Cherry.

Guess's new form, Baza as he called himself, stood behind scouting the land for things to sell. The scary kitsune merchant found not only several active spores he could sell, but decided to pocket some of Mimi's fur, blood and even Eliza's magickal remnants. What could he use that for?

Whatever it is, it'll be up to no good.

And who is the new stranger who found Baza and laughed at him? What happened to Hakan was he woke up? All these and more questions will be answered in the NEXT chapter!!

Vaccination
Sometimes, the cure is worse than the disease

Despite Guess' taunting, it was Mimi the one who snapped and attempted to murder the blob of souls and if it had not been for Eliza, Mimi surely would have been down eight out of nine lives.

Unfortunately, her previous attack got rid of Guess and due to his true form being nothing but souls, Bazaa was created. Now this creature is surely one to be feared: a vulpin merchant, he is stubborn as hell and determined to make a sale. He had to exhaust a new customer just to make a sale!

Meanwhile, Mimi and Hakan awake and being the young love birds they are, angst and joy overtake the room which they shared with the young witch. This, of course, renders Eliza into a state of disgust and she, bored out of her mind (not to mention grossed out too), finds her way to the bar where she proceeds to drink herself into a stupor.

Cherry falls victim to Bazaa's charm but the energetic little thing seems to be the only creature capable of scaring the vulpin himself. As to render her useless, he distracts her with pink accessories to which she busies herself trying to choose THE ultimate Pinkness.

The lovebirds, scared crapless by the creepy Vulpin, and realizing that they need clothes themselves, opt to go into town and go shopping; however, they must find Eliza herself and it is at that task where they run into more trouble.

At last they find the human witch, this one who is soooo drunk she's dancing herself silly with a potted plant on her head and a broom in her arms. Or rather, they only catch her when she falls and makes a fool of herself.

Newcomers arrive: a man of stone, an honest to goodness fae and a timid young woman. What are their purpose within the Hyde's grounds? Only time will tell...

In the meantime, if Mimi could only check them in instead of fighting with Bazaa, all is right in the world.
