Hello, and welcome!~
I see you've stumbled across my pidge journals. Nice of you to stop by!
Here's a little info about me before we get on to the good stuff:
Hey, guys~ I'm Mriae, and I've been around Gaia for a few years now. Mostly, I hang out in the Roost, but I frequent other b/c threads sometimes, as well as lurk in places like the ED, art freebies and manga forums.

History: Pebble can't recall much from being a chick before arriving at Baker's flock. All she can remember was that it was a dark and rainy night. She and her mother, Yield on Green, had been traveling for hours; exactly how long, she couldn't remember. The only thing that came to mind in their previous flock was the disapproving looks and angry glares from the other pidge. 'We don't want a half-breed,' she overheard that night. So her mom took her and left. Baker's was a lot nicer, anyway. A lot more welcoming. As soon as they got there, pidge were greeting them left and right. An elderly Whisperer named Station even gave her the shawl Pebble was noted for on that day as a gift to welcome them. It was a night she would never forget.
Her childhood was rather uneventful. Most of the time, watched by her mother's careful eye, she would play with the other chicks. However, she couldn't help but wonder why she didn't have a dad. All the other chicks had dads, yet Yield never mentioned Pebble's to her. It was something she didn't like to talk about. The absence of her father became a well guarded secret for the young chick - something only her mom and a few of the older pidge knew. She never shared it with anyone her age. They wouldn't understand.
As a fledgling, Pebble took a great interest in learning to communicate with other birds. This was how she managed to gain Gay Pride Parade as a mentor. After the flirtatious Jacobin stumbled across young Pebble on a visit to her mother, the fledgling was able to see first hand a pidge communicate with another species of bird. From then, she was hooked! After that, Pebble was frequently tutored by both Pride and his army of eclectic chickadees. It didn't take her long, and eventually Pebble was speaking Passeridae just as well as the rest of them, even going so far as to finding an associate of her own; a optimistic lil' chickadee named Sunshine.
Now fully grown, Pebble has established herself as a qualified Whisperer. She helps to practice her craft by helping to translate for others. More recently, though, she has been employed by Psycho, a doctor from Half Price's flock. She works as his personal translator, relaying messages back and forth to his associate, Friendly Skies. Despite Psycho's cool demeanor to her at first, Pebble still remains hopeful that she will be able to break through his icy shell and get him to open up more. Only time will tell if she succeeds in doing that.

History: Tickle Your Fancy came into the world on a chilly fall morning. She was born into a high society family on the wealthy side of Half Price's flock to Tiffany & Co. and Hennessey Cognac. Both of her parents were thrilled that they had been given a daughter, so from an early age Fancy was loved, cherished, and doted upon. Her parents weren't the only ones in her life, however. Fancy also had a nanny to watch over and take care of her when her parents were preoccupied with other things.
Her childhood was a normal one, typical of what a chick in high society would lead. Mostly, she played with the other chicks, carefully watched over by her loving nanny. Instead of staying with her, though, young Fancy still lived in her parent's nest. One thing she can remember recalling clearly is the fact that her parents weren't around all that much. However, when they were, they were very loving and caring. Her parents had a thing for throwing parties around their nest whenever they could. When this happened, their daughter would often be by herself. She passed the time by creating tales and adventures, a skill that would come in handy to her later in life.
Coming from a family of tea makers, both her mother and father expected their young daughter to follow in their talonsteps. Yet, the art of making tea was never for her. When Fancy became a fledgling, she decided that she wanted to become a nanny and an entertainer. It was her love for her own nanny and her love for chicks that prompted her to become a nanny, and her passion for telling stories helped her decide to be an entertainer. She worked hard to become both, often being seen shadowing other pidge within the flock with the same role.
All of her hard work had paid off. Now an adult, Fancy works as both a nanny and an entertainer, as she has always dreamed of. She still lives comfortably on the wealthy side of Half Price's flock, although now she has finally left her parent's nest. Her latest dream now is to start a family of her own - something she hopes to accomplish when she finds a mate. She can only hope that she will find someone sometime soon.
Personality: Having been born on the wealthy side of Half Price's flock, Fancy was brought up in the fashion typical of females in high society -- to be prim and proper. She is a very polite pidge - careful to what she says around whom. She tries to be respectable at all times. Rudeness and poor manners are unacceptable in her book, especially coming from adult pidge. It hasn't been unheard of for her to be labeled as 'prude' or 'snooty', but most of the time she just overlooks negative comments like that.
Fancy tries to be a role model for the young chicks she watches over, and because of that, she tries to instill in them proper etiquette. She is very compassionate and loving with them, having come from such a background herself. If they get out of line, however, she isn't afraid to be stern and reprimand anyone who is causing trouble.
To keep the chicks and fledglings from being too rowdy, Fancy keeps them preoccupied by telling stories. This has been something she has done since she was little - frequently making up stories to keep herself entertained while her parents had guests over for tea or to play cards. She is very creative and enjoys coming up with tales that she knows the little ones will enjoy and want to hear over and over again.
Family is something that means a lot to Fancy. As far as the roles within the family go, she is very old-fashion in her thoughts. To Fancy, the male should be the one going out and providing for the family while the female stays at home and takes care of the nest and chicks. When she starts a family of her own (which is her biggest dream), Fancy wants to know that her mate will not only provide for her, but that he'll be loyal and trustworthy, too (being tall, dark, and handsome is also a plus). Once she finds someone, though, you can be sure she will be doing her best to be a good mate and mother.
