Character History and Background

Christopher was born in New York near the naval station that used to be there back in 1977. His father was in the Navy. His mother was a dedicated stay at home Mom while he and his three siblings were growing up. Chris and his family moved all over the United States with his father being in the Navy. Around his teen years his interest in the military grew, and Chris had a desire to join the Air Force or Navy as a fighter pilot. He would attempt to draw military aircraft and build models. During high school he took many art classes to learn how to draw, and many Marine Corps ROTC classes to learn how to be a soldier. He didn't do well at all in art, and only okay in ROTC, never made officer, just a Cadet Gunnery Sergeant. He also never had a leadership role since his leadership traits were sub par. Mostly he graded papers, took attendance, and did some instructing on navigation , military history, and proper firearms maintenance. He did do well in Anatomy honors and history classes, also did alright in biology and chemistry. Never was any good at math and language art classes. He tried to get into one of the military academies near his graduation, but his test scores were far too low, not even high enough to get into a third rate local college.

Upon graduation from high school in 1996, Chris enlisted into the Navy as an electronics technician for nuclear submarines. He still had the dream of flying fighters and decided that he could become an officer some other way. He left for the service late in the year. He did well in his school where he was trained to work in communications and intelligence. He was assigned to a brand new special ops submarine upon completion of his “A” school. At first he was stationed at the shipyard in Newport News, Virginia awaiting the completion of the submarine. The ship was then moved to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Chris liked it out in Hawaii, and did alright at first. It was like an adventure exploring new places. Unfortunately as time passed on, a hand full of people gave him a hard time to the point where he became extremely depressed, and his autism started showing through. The command sent him to a psychologist that misdiagnosed him, and he was discharged in a bad way. To this day he regrets being weak and blames himself for being discharged from the Navy.

After being discharged from the service in 1998, Chris looked around for all kind of work. Mostly to make money and have something to do since he lost all purpose in life. He worked as a janitor, stock person as a seasonal shop, ran cables, fixed and built computers, sales, construction, etc. Anything he could get his hands on to pay his bills, and try to find something he was good at so he could at least become successful and live a good life and have nice things. Most of the jobs he had didn't last long, usually ending with him getting fired for poor performance, or issues with his mental disabilities. After several years of trying to work and make something of himself, he was forced to file and take disability. He didn't want to do it, especially with his feelings about government dependency, and looking like a slacker.

Currently Chris spends most of his time doing house work, and volunteering to help others. He still wishes he could get back into the service, especially after 9/11 where he almost begged the marine recruiter to let him in. Even after all the bad that has happened to him, he still gives a helping hand to those in need, even if it is just a little bit.

Creature Information

Dragon

The dragon is a creature that appears in many cultures and legends from around the world. In places such as Europe, the dragon was seen as an evil treasure hording monster that had a feiry breath. In many Asian civilizations the dragon was seen mostly as a wise and pwerful creature that could bring good fortune and riches. Dragons come in many shapes, sizes, and colors. One description said that dragons had the ears of an ox, their feet had the soles of a tiger and talons of an eagle. A dragon's abilities very just as much as their physical attributes, such as feiry breath, able to breath underwater, shapeshifting, walking on clouds, summoning rain storms, to name a few.

Since dragons are so diverse, I decided to write down a dragon I saw in a meditation for the description of the dragon type I will be using.

A western type of dragon, he is around eight feet tall standing bipedal. He has a heavy, but sleek build similar to that of a large jungle cat such as a jaguar. He is endothermic “warm blooded”. Even though he is a full non-anthro dragon, he is able to walk and run either in a quadruped stance, or a bipedal stance. The over all body color is a silver-gray with a lighter underbelly. The back has black stripes on it, and some stripes appear on the neck and tail as well. The muzzle is of medium length and width. The end of the muzzle is almost like that of a horse in general shape. The very end of the muzzle around the nostrils and near the chin is an almost charcoal color The tongue and gums inside of his maw is a slick charcoal color, almost like that of a polar bear. The front teeth are squared off, like that of a human or horse. The rest of the teeth up front are almost feline like, with a set of sharp teeth on either side of the front teeth, followed by the large fangs. Further back there are several carnessals, followed by some molars in the far back. The eyes are a deep blue color with round pupils. They are slightly expressive, framed with the dark skin around them. The eye sight is sharp, about four times as good as a human. The low light vision is excellent, and is able to see well as long as there is a source of light. Beneath the eyes there are heat sensing pits, that give him the ability to detect heat and see into the infra red spectrum. The ears are long and pointed, and a bit swept back. The sense of hearing is almost like that of a cat's. Near each ear, there is a short horn, two horns total. The horns have a slight spiral to there texture. On the head, and down the neck there is a long and silvery mane.

The front and hind paws are digigrade and each have five digits. Four fingers and a thumb on the front paws, and four toes and a dew claw on the inner side of the foot on the hind paws. The claws are black and are semi retractable. They are not small and highly curved like a cat's claws, more like a typical dragon, but sharper. On the balls of the feet, fronts of the palms, and on the finger and toe tips, there are paw pads, similar to a cats, but do not stick out as far. They are soft in substance for quiet movement, but the hide is thick and tough with a bit of a rough texture to them. There is also a small pad near the wrist, opposite of the thumb. The rest of the palm and sole is a pale color like the underbelly. The toes are thick, and are a little longer than those of a feline. The dew claws on the hind paws are slightly usable, but too far up the sides of the foot to be used like thumbs. They are mainly used for helping to grasp things with the feet. The front paws have thick finger and thumbs used for both walking on, and handling items. The fingers bend forward and shift into a position, like that of a feline when walking on all fours, while the thumbs tuck tightly out of the way. The palms are a little longer compared to that of a human to allow for quadruped movement. The front paws have enough manual dexterity to use most objects, such as a sword or a computer with a lot of practice.

The wings are bat like in shape. They resemble another set of arms coming from the back near the shoulders with very long fingers. There are four wing fingers, and a thumb like claw for each wing. Each of the digits are tipped with a black claw called a wing spur. Between the digits there is a thick leathery membrane. The membrane also extend along the sides of the wing arms, and connects to the body along the upper sides at the base of the wings all the way back to the loin area to give a large surface for flight. The tail is around a medium length. The end of the tail has long mane on it, and there might be some shorter mane on the top center line of the tail.

Unicorn/Karkadann

The unicorn is a creature most likely related to the deer and antalope family in some way. Contrary to popular belief, they are not a horse with a horn on the forehead. The confusion probably comes from their almost equine like build that some members of the unicorn family have. They have cloven hooves, like those of a deer or bull. A single spiraled horn adorns their forehead. The tail is almost like that of a lion's, but with a little more mane on the end. The ears are large and almost leaf like in shape. The coat of the unicorn has been described as almost iridescent. The eyes of a unicorn have been known to be blue or even purple in color. Male unicorns usually sport a short to very long beard.

The commonly known abilities that a unicorn has been known to possess is the ability to detect and nautralize poisons. This is why in ancient times, they would dip a unicorn's horn in a drink or food to make sure it wasn't poisoned. They were also known to be able to heal great wounds with a touch of their horn. Some of the lesser known abilities of the unicorn is their ability to see aruas and the flows of energy. They can tell if a creature is sick, and what is most likely the cause just from a look. The unicorn also can communicate telepathicly to other creatures, not in words, but in a very easy to understand way. The myth about unicorns teleporting might come from that unicorns with their ability to see energy flows might be able to slip into different plans, an ethereal jaunt so to speak. This is probably one of the reasons the unicorn was so hard to catch, and had to be lured by a fair virgin maiden. Not to mention that most unicorns have a light weight frame and can run incredibly fast.

The Karkadann (Persian unicorn) is the largest member of the unicorn family, with most unicorns being around the size of deer. The Karkadann is around the size of a heavy horse, with a muscular build. They are very beautiful in over all appearence. They have cloven hooves like other unicorns, but some have been known to have three usable hoof tipped toes on each limb. They have a lion like tail that is ticker at the base, and has a lot more mane on the end. The single spiraled horn on the forehead has been known to very from white to solid black.

The Karkadann is more aggressive than the other members of the unicorn family. They were the only animal that didn't fear elephants, and were not afriad to fight them either. They usually didn't bother other creatures, but when attacked, they can be very vindictive like a water buffalo, and will turn around and assault their attacker. The Karkadann's call was a loud bellow that could be heard for great distances. Most animals fled when they heard the call of the Karkadann. The Karkadann was said to be soothed by the call of the ring dove, which it would let perch on its horn.

Since there isn't a whole lot of art and detailed descriptions, here is my vision of a Karkadann

A large unicorn with a build simlar to a friesian horse. His body muscular, but very toned. The cloven hooves are large, with two main toes, one making up each side of the hoof, and a pair of small dew claws on the back of the fetlocks. There is light feathering around the hooves, especially on the backs of the fetlock area. His horn is an ivory color. His ears large and leaf like in shape. The eyes a deep blue color that can look right into someone's soul. The mane down the centerline of his neck is very long and wavy. He has a medium length beard that is silky on his chin, and long tufts on the jaw line. His tail is lion like, and thicker at the base. The tuft of mane on the end of his tail is long and silky. The coloration will most likely be with fair skin beneath his almsot iridescent white coat. The hooves a light, almost ivory color. I also thought about going with grey skin, and dark grey to black hooves. He has the ability to heal and neutralize poisons. He also has the ability to see aruas and energy flows.
