alright my bro and me keep on argueing on this. i think Tool is alot more heavier than Pink Floyd and Maynard's voice does not sound at all like the lead singer of Pink Floyd. what are your guy's opinions?

Ooh! Ooh! I know!

They're both weird, and classified as "progressive" occasionally.

Well now,.. I've got some advice for YOUR little brother...
Tool and Pink Floyd are similar on several aspects,
For example their style of expression that they use parallel's each other quite well, sort of well,.. psychological. Also their guitar riffs are very similar in composition due to the fact that both Tool and Pink Floyd's instrumentals use timing that is,.. to say the least, quite advanced for their genre (yes, I believed that Pink Floyd could be classified as progressive/alternative).

BUT!!!,.. you are right in the regards that the singing is different,.. but I think that when you compare bands with such depth you must open your mind to more than just vocals.

-Think for yourself-

(Good topic,.. thanks for opening it up)

They are similar in the way that they are very experimantal with their music and have some connections with philosophy but apart from that I think they sound nothing alike.

They sound nothing alike to me. But the thing that is alike about the too bands is the lyric content. Both mind expanding to the max.
