In Peri's not-so-neat scrawl was written 'constriction', 'blindsight', and 'excellent sight' on the chalkboard. The man was meanwhile trying to clean chalk dust off his hands.

Tyven arrived one minute early, entering the classroom with a silent, predatory grace and nodding at the teacher before taking a seat, almost directly in front of the man. Azucar was just behind her, an amused air about the very being of the black lindworm as he slunk up to curl around her desk.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Coleman."
Tyven remembered this man. He'd shown her Azucar's egg.

The man gave a bit of a start when Tyven spoke. He hadn't heard her enter! He quickly recovered and smiled at the girl. "Good afternoon. Today we're going to talk about your dragon... as well as lindworms in general. Usually I start by seeing if you've got any questions..."

"Not exactly." Tyven crossed her legs at the knee, hands flat on the desk as she watched the teacher with slit-pupiled eyes. She was certainly an attractive girl, but quite intimidating, nonetheless. "Azucar tells me what he likes to do, what he likes to eat, and so on." A pause.
"Perhaps an explanation of his battle capabilities? As well as... I have heard that dragons possess magic, Mr. Coleman. Can you tell me about that?"

"Well, the lindworm is rather unique for a dragon. They only have front legs, as you have learned, I'm sure..." The man smiled for a second before continuing. "The lindworm prefers close combat, though they will use spells as they close in. All dragons can learn magic, though different types seem to have affinities for different types of spells. They are rather quick to pick up on magic at times, it seems."
"Lindworms like to constrict their target, much like several types of snakes. They wrap their long bodies around the victim and squeeze. They can fly, though like the asian lungs this is through magical means rather than actual wings. And they have an acid breath weapon like black dragons."
"They also move rather snake-like and have very good senses compared to the average human. They can see much farther in daylight as well as in dim light and can also see in the dark and use their other senses to detect movement around them."

A low, throaty chuckle came from the preteen, something rare, to be sure, and her eyes slid from Perilas to her dragon, amused. "Yes, he is rather like a snake." As she was. Still, her brows raised at the magic, the flying. "Azucar has been moving completely as a snake, without flying."
The black dragon made a somewhat snorting noise, rolling his eyes. He'd never tried to fly, simply because it hadn't really occured to him to do so. Tyven was on the ground, so he stayed there.
"Are there classes to teach us to access this magic? To learn to fight together, Mr. Coleman?"

Peri grinned at the pair. "Well, I'm sure he'll fly about at some point. I'm not sure, but it seems that the asian lungs appear to be able to fly shortly after hatching. He may have to learn how to use his ability... or he may just be lazy." The man grinned wider, showing that he was teasing.
"As you and your dragon get older, you'll be able to take some of my advanced classes. I teach a variety of things, such as learning to use breath weapons or flying together. Magic is not my forte, but some of the magic teachers may discuss the dragons' abilities in that field." Perhaps he should meet some of the magic teachers and talk about some classes taught together and addressing some of these issues... He had to repress a goofy grin at the thought of how that meeting should go...

Perilas seemed to be a very silly man. However, unlike it usually would, this fact did not irriate Tyven. Perhaps it was because he'd given her Azucar? The dragon was her second-favorite creature, just behind Cleo, which was only natural, considering that Cleo came first.
"Azucar is lazy." Tyven's white teeth flashed in a quick smile, then she crossed her legs at the knee. "Is there anything else I should know?"
This was appearing to be a short class, although she HAD learned something today. Time to make Azucar fly... That would've helped a lot during that dragon fiasco in D-corp.

Peri thought for a moment, glancing back towards the blackboard to make sure he'd covered everything on there. "I believe we've covered everything I'd planned to, so unless you've got any other questions..." He glanced at the girl to see if she had any. "Otherwise, we're done."

Tyven gracefully shifted to her feet, Azucar rising as well, and nodded to the man. "Yes, I believe we are done, as well. I do look forward to finding out about those battle classes, though, Mr. Coleman." Her brow raised. "You may want to speak to Turner Herrick about those, if I may suggest a particular teacher. Your... Personalities seem compatible."
Next to Perilas, she was most likely the least serious teacher there was. Wishing the man a good afternoon, the tall snake made her exit.

Peri gave a nod to the girl as she left. Now why did that name seem somewhat familiar? Pondering that, the man kept the name in mind to search out later.
