"Now this here Fluffy is a lion. Nasty creature with big claws and sharp teeth. Bite your head off if you aren't looking."
"Hiccup~" Blink. Blink.
"Why you showing him a lion, you dolt? He's a rat! That's asking for trouble, Twitch." Spark scowled at his twin. He would have crossed his arms over his chest but there was a large fuzzy Jivvin draped over his shoulder and her tail prevented any arm-crossing. "You hold him any closer to the cage and Bantu'll kill you if she finds out. And then she'll kill me for not stopping yah an-"
"Oh hush, the lion's not doing anything. I'm just giving him a better look." Twitch, however, did as he was told and took several steps backwards. Kiba simply gave a small chirrup, staring at the lion curious. "He don't seem scared of it. Look, even Puck's not scared of it."
"In cage. Not scared," The Jivvin provided, more interested in the people that were walking by than caged animals.

Barry stood nearby at the jaguar cage, holding tight to the hand of a happily squealing toddler.
"Daddy! Haff schpots! Schpots like my!"
"Yes, sweetie, it does, but it's a mean kitty."
"KITTY!"
At the very least, Quinn hadn't cried or shrieked all day. There had, however, been a great deal of yelling every time the toddler spotted an animal zhe was interested in. Thank God for distractions.
"Quinny! Honey, look! Kiba!"
"Huh...?" Quinn asked, turning slowly to look in the direction Daddy was pointing, and then spotted the duo with the pink baby, "FUFFY!"
At the sudden expulsion of sound, Kas removed his head from the trash can just long enough to look. What was this? New people? New people his Warm was interested in? Interesting...

With a slight turn of her head, Puck spotted Barry and his charge before they announced their intent. Truthfully, it was hard to ignore Quinn's voice over all the noises of the crowd, and that was what had made the Jivvin look in the first place. Of course then she had noticed the strange ears the man had, and the funky spots the little pipsqueak had, and noooow she was curious. And she didn't even have to go and see them. They were coming to her.
Two heads turned when a random toddler suddenly yelled Fuffy, and then tilted simultaneously. Since when did people know that this little one's name was Fluffy? "Do you know 'em?" Spark asked, as Puck attempt to rearrange herself on his shoulders so she could see Barry and Quinn. "Nope," replied his twin, "But he seems to know 'em."
Kiba flailed excitedly when he caught sight of Quinn, giving a series of loud squeaks. Hurray! The popping girl! They meet again!

As soon as Quinn reached the ground zhe stood on zher toes, whining and reaching for the pink baby. Zhe wanted to hold him again!
"Sorry," Bary apologized before anything had happened at all, "We met the baby and...oh...uh...Beatz? They were at the pond one day." That wasn't a very good explanation, he figured, but it at leas explained how he knew the baby.
"Who you?" Kas asked, glaring up at the abnormally identical men before him, tail swaying slowly.

Twitch seemed a little wary of this toddler, despite the fact that Kiba seemed to know her. It wasn't that he really didn't like kids, but toddlers were another story entirely. They were smelly and loud and they couldn't even speak very well. Kids you could at least teach to pilfer things from people or cause a diversion. Toddlers just didn't have the brain capacity, which was why Twitch disliked dealing with them. Playing pickpocket assessment was bad enough.
Spark blinked at the man's explanation, and exchanged a silent glance with his twin. "Beatz? Eh... she did say she was going fishin the other day... You sure you met this one? Not like I'm thinking they're any other Beatz 'round here but you never know."
"Question is who you? I see first, I ask first," Puck's tail swished as she stared down at the other Jivvin. She had seen them first so she got to ask all the questions! He could wait for answers until she got hers.

Quinn's lower lip began to wobble. Zher eyes filled with tears. Oh, no...
"I'm positive. I've met only one rat baby in my life, thank you," Barry said, arching a brow. He was pretty chill most of the time, but you did not question his statements. He was a man who did not lie.
Kas' eyes only narrowed further.
"Kashultz. Who you, yellow fuzzy?" Ooh, yellow fuzzy. That was a good one. The Jivvin smiled smugly to himself.

"'ere kid what's with the face?" Twitch tilted his head at the toddler, not entirely sure what was coming next. It wasn't like too many thieves had children, and if they did they either left the guild to raise their families or kept the toddlers to themselves. Bramble Manor was not the kind of place you raised children to be honest and upright citizens.
Spark simply shrugged, but raised his chin a little at the expression on Barry's face. "Just checkin' 's all. Beatz and Gyp can get away with doin anything they please but if he so much as chips a fingernail with us we're done for." His statement got a vehement nod from his twin. "You haven't met his mother, see, you wouldn't know."
Puck blinked, before scrunching her nose. "Too long. Kash better. Not yellow fuzzy, Puck. Shorter better." She grinned cheekily at him.

"Fuffy...wan' how'd Fuffy," Quinn said, voice wavering. Why would the new man not let her hold Fluffy?!
"I'm sure," Barry nodded. There was no apology in that statement, and thus none to accept. The awkward silence stretched.
Kas' ears folded back and he crouched into a defensive position, lip rising.
"Yellow fuzzy." Oooh. Burned.

Twitch hesitated, casting a careful glance at his brother. To let the child hold the ratling or to run the hell away? The latter was tempting, but he supposed he had better let this pipsqueak hold Kiba. The ratling was wiggling around like a worm, apparently thrilled to see this spotted girlthing again. "Uh... okay, sure. Let's go sit on that bench over there, kay? No need for brain injuries or anything..." The ermine made his way over to the aforementioned bench, flopping down on it with a small sigh. Hopefully Bantu wouldn't kill them for this.
"Beatz 's the nicest one. Likes kids even if she don't have her own. You fish or something? Bein' near the pond and all." That would explain why he was near the pond. Spark tried not to stay on the defensive now that this strange elf-man wasn't looking at him with a raised eyebrow. Beatz was always telling the twins to be a little more sociable.
"..." Puck's grin faded as she stared down at the Jivvin. "Ugly," she replied, and stuck her tongue out. Ha! She had learned that one from Twitch.

Still sniveling, Quinn scuffled over to the bench and pulled zherself up onto it, wiggling back. At least zhe got to hold Fuzzy now. Zhe sat there, arms outspread, waiting.
"No. I am an Urisk," Barry answered simply with a shrug, "Pond spirit."
Kas gave a roar and lunged forward, damn ready to attack this insolent little fool.

With a small sigh, Twitch carefully handed over the rat baby, watching the toddler to make sure she didn't drop him. It seemed like this spotted child had had experience holding babies, but that didn't make the ermine feel any better. Kiba, however, seemed positively thrilled to be back in Quinn's arms. "Tuh tuh!"
"An Urcrisp? Never heard of one of those bef- holy crap!" Spark sprung backwards when the Jivvin leapt at Puck, hands in front of his face instantly. His own Jivvin had taken refuge on his head, clinging to his hair with her little claws. "Meany! Meany!" She yelled, torn between scolding Kas and hanging on for dear life.

Quinn giggled and snorgled the baby.
"Ya! Tuh-tle!" zhe said and patted the infant's back. Zhe popped affectionately a few times, resting zher head beside Fluffy's/
"No, Uris--KAS!"
Barry lunged forward and grabbed Kas by the tail, pulling him back to the ground. Bristling, Kas gave him a hard glare and disappeared under the bench, chest heaving with deep growls.
"I'm sorry. Kas is...he's...he's pretty much a meany, yeah."

Kiba gave a small hiccup, before giggling happily. He remembered! He remembered what she had taught him! Why, he had even shown it off to all his family when Beatz brought him home. Mind you, they hadn't been as proud, but still! And she remembered her pops! Yaaay! "Buuu!" He tried, though it was nowhere near as loud as her pop. She was definitely better at this than him.
Twitch had nearly jumped off of his seat when the Jivvin charged, but managed to control himself and stay with the rat baby. Bantu would kill him for leaving a toddler alone with her baby. Besides, his twin didn't appear to be hurt. Still, the thought made him bristle, and he eyed the Jivvin underneath the bench.
"Super meany," Puck replied with a dignified sniff as Spark attempted to get her down off of his head. "Needs rope." Spark gave the yellow Jivvin a small poke, hoping to get her to be quiet. No need provoking another attack from him.

Quinn giggled and pated, taking a moment to beep the infant's cute little nose.
"Goo' job, Fuffy!"
Barry just huffed, running a hand backward through his hair.
"I'm sorry. I really am." And rope? Psh. Kas had eaten his las three leashes.
Why was it that everyone else had nice, well-behaved children and pets? Did God hate him or something?

Kiba's eyes followed the finger to his nose, and peeped happily. She was funny! And she was nice. Not that he'd ever met anyone who was not nice, but it suited him just fine to think that everyone in the world was nice. Nobody had hurt him yet, so why should he be afraid? "Gooooooo~" He repeated, watching Quinn's reaction carefully.
"Eh, it's cool. Might needed to get a warning sign for him or something. Danger: I like attacking other dog things." Spark settled Puck back on his shoulder, stroking her ruffled fur as she sulked. "So what were you saying before we got into all this dog fighting? Didn't catch it." The ermine gave his tail a swish, hoping that the fur would go back down. He didn't like having a squirrel tail.
