Darkness crept the sky as the small boat rocked from the waves of the sea, making the sailor paddle more faster as to avoid the possibility of a bad weather.
The sailor peered at Aren as they neared the shore, which was now just about five minutes away. The dust was covered from head to toe by dark garments, even if it was dark he could not risk for him to be seen by the sailor. He stared back at the man with his gray eyes as if challenging him, the young sailor looked back to the sea and started to paddle more aggressively and swiftly.
As the nose of the boat hit the mainland, Aren stepped off quickly, motioning the sailor to stay and wait in that spot. With no words, the man nodded his head and started to pull the boat into the soft wet soil, while grabbing the small steel anchor. Now the sky was pitch black and the only lights was from the city of Amies from the distance. The floating town was a beautiful sight from where he was now standing. He shook his head, as he remembered what he was supposed to do right now. He had to slay the wolf that was terrorizing the townspeople and preventing other travelers to travel to Amies. If he defeats the beast they it would be much beneficial to him... plus Aevah had ordered him to do this so he had no choice.
The teenager walked and his dark boots dug into the soft clay soil. Walking for a few minutes he started to hear a growl from a place nearby. He sharply turned his head, nothing. He could only see faint shadows made by the glowing lights of Amies, aside from that, he could not see much in the dark.
"The wolf is here? So soon?" he whispered to himself, now feeling his heart jump out of his chest.
He unsheathed his long silver sword, awaiting the creature's next move.
