Aurora ran, and ran hard she did. She wasn't sure where to go, or who to turn to, so she did the only thing that came to mind. She galloped head-first to the church. At this hour, the temple was long since closed, but god's house always remained open for those who knew where to look. Grabbing at the bolts on the back door, she used the tip of her tail to pry out the long threads that held the hinges to the door. As the last steel rivet clunk to the floor, The young deity retreated inside and up the long staircase to the bell tower. Once there, she escaped to the roof, the one place she expected no one to look for her, the one place she could be truly alone like she believed she so rightly deserved. Now again in the fresh air, she slumped to the edge of the roof and sat, allowing her thick tail to dangle over the side. Her shoulders fell forward, and her feathery wings draped over her, as to shield her from the outside world. And that, my friend, is why no one's ever seen her cry.

Ezhno wanted to go with Sasha. He wanted to learn magic. He didn't want to be useless... but no matter how hard he tried he just... couldn't bring himself to leave. It was a big step in his life. Maybe he wasn't made to help but he couldn't help feeling envious of Dia and the others. They all had some gift that seemed to be worth something.
Loneliness... He knew what it was for... How to use it... it just wasn't something he would want as a power. Not when he felt it so often. He longed to be close to someone. His teenage heart wanted the comforts of a relationship and someone he cared about. He was at the age where they adults didn't understand and where he didn't belong.
He wanted to belong. He found himself asking Anna to send him to 'Rora. Why? He wasn't really sure. He only knew he wanted to see her. His crush had only grown stronger and was a reason for his mood. He hated to be separated from her, even if he didn't see her that much.
He found himself on a roof... and there was the girl he sought. He could feel it... It was radiating off her in waves. So strong... he wanted to take it away. He stared at her for the longest time, unsure of how to react. Should he say something? Let her finish? His gentle fingers reached out and stroked between her wings in a comforting way.
The love of his life was sad... Why? "Aurora...?" He questioned softly. "Are you alright?"

Not a sound. Aurora hadn't heard a single sound, so naturally, the touch was quite a shock. Her wings flared out wide and she nearly fell forward. Quickly, she regained her balance, but for what purpose? Almost instinctively, she drew her knees close to her chest and pulled her bangs down low, gripping them tightly. "I'm fine...! Please don't look at me..." Again her wings pulled close, putting her in a impenetrable cocoon of sorts. But from what one could see, the hand that lay tangled in her curly locks... It didn't seem right. Why? Why was it such a deep shade of purple? And her wings... They seemed almost.. infected. The feathers close to her were such a vibrant shade of navy, as were scattered ones amongst the whole of the wings. Perhaps.. this is what she was so upset about?

The teen moved back as her wings flared and readied himself to help her if she started to fall. He should have spoken first! Made some kind of noise... Fine, huh? He knelt down beside her. She was anything but fine. Why would she lie when he could tell she wasn't?
The violet hand and wings didn't go unnoticed. Was she sick? Then why was she up here all alone? "Aurora..." He whispered stroking her wings with his hand. "Please, look at me... You're scaring me."
She truthfully was. If she was sick she needed to be inside. If she was turning purple she needed to explain what was going on. He reached out and touched the violet skin with soft touches. "Please tell me what's wrong..."

"I... I don't know.... I'm a freak...!" Her voice cracked, heavy with deep, labored breaths. Harder, she tugged her hair down, as if trying to hide from his peering eyes, hoping to turn invisible so he wouldn't see the monster she was becoming. But she had neglected something very important... This was Ezzie. He had never seen her as a freak, not with her horns or tail, nor the strange furry legs that she tried so desperately to keep secret. May... Just maybe, he wouldn't hate her... At least not as much as she believed the rest of the world would. After all.. Dia hadn't thought of her any differently.

Ezzie looked slightly taken back. "A freak? "Rora, don't think like that..." His own problems were forgotten as he tried to comfort the woman. His arms wrapped awkwardly around her, hugging her wings. He wasn't sure what had happened but he wanted to make it go away. "I think you're beautiful..." He admitted, a bit of crimson on his cheeks.
"You know that, right? You're beautiful ... Did someone hurt you?" His worry was filled with a bit of anger. "If someone did something to you I swear I'll..." He took a breath to calm himself down and shook his head. "I'll protect you...Just please, tell me what happened."

A hug? Soft, gentle, but strong arms held her close, as if trying to suck the sorrow from her. Her wings dropped a little, their weight pulling them down to rest haphazardly on the ceiling tiles. Her arms and much of her face seemed to be of the same strange color as her hands, all seeming... somewhat ethereal. To someone who didn't understand, it would be quite disturbing, but all together it was quite a stunning look. However.... Thick clumps and streaks of deep tan cream was caked on her face. Her tears had causes it to run, leaving paths of the rich purple to peek through this damaged mask. "I... I'm not beautiful... I'm a mistake. Mom.... She... She hates me for it." This of course is a lie. Her mother was upset, of course... But considering the amount of makeup that was still there, one could understand why. No one likes being lied to.

Ezhno stared at the girl in his arms now that he could see her. He was a bit surprised but disturbed by it. Hey, one of his friends was a plant. With a sleeve he wiped the makeup away and gave a sad smile. "Rora..." He pulled her closer, running his fingers over her. "You are beautiful..."
Her mother...? How could she? "She doesn't I'm sure... but if you need to you can come up to live on the ship with me..." He nuzzled against her. "You can... I'll protect you. I promise... She won't hurt you."

Again, she looked away. He always said such kind things, things so sweet that anyone would be happy to hear. But why, then, did it make her feel so upset? Perhaps it was her inferiority complex that confused her so. Being placed on a pedestal so high could only make her fear the fall. But at any rate, she couldn't bring to herself to argue. As if in slow motion, she leaned into him, resting her head in the crook of his neck. Softly, she muttered an inaudible apology. Her weak arms raised only high enough to wrap around her dear friend. Again, she apologized, not knowing what else to say.

The teen shifted so the new position more comfortable for them both. He kept his arms firmly around her to provide comfort. She obviously needed it. "You don't have to apologize..." He murmured back.
He didn't really know how to help her. His lips pressed against her temple as he stroked soft circles with his hand around her wings and back. "You don't have to apologize... I'm here for you, I promise... You can tell me anything..."
His voice caught as the words almost tumbled out of his throat. Could he say it? They didn't really know each other that well but he knew what he felt. That had to count for something, right? His honey eyes stared at the woman in his arms. The one that needed him. Needed to be pulled back to her grace.
How could he not say it?
"I love you 'Rora..."

'Rora instinctively drew her shoulders close. There he goes again.. Being so bloody kind... Surely he didn't mean it. Who could love such a creature? None the less, her strange facial skin reddened, her soft indigo bits hueing maroon. Retracting herself from his arms, her chin lifted, as to better see him. "You always say such strange things..." Despite this seemingly bland statement, she was smiling. True, her eyes again were heavy with tears, but this ever so light crook of the mouth seemed to mean so much.

Ezhno felt rejected until he saw her smile. He stared into her eyes then did something quite bold. He took her chin with his fingers, lifting it up just a quater of an inch."But always the truest..."
He didn't hesitate as he pressed his lips to hers.

White. If asked to describe this moment by color, Aurora would respond White. Pure and clean, the color of the hottest flame, or a suddenly clear canvas, I'm not sure. It was a first, that's a definite. Her face became quite warm, almost inconceivably so. All her problems seemed to fall onto the back burner with this one action. Alas, she was now clueless. She gave a small kiss back, but due to her quickly intimidated personality, she couldn't hold it for long. Pulling back, she looked away again, this mix between a grin and slackjaw plastered on her burning face.

His wings fluttered slightly as she responded. Though he had once kissed Dia this felt like his first true kiss. He blushed considerably and scooted closer, smiling. "Do you want to stay with me for a while? On the ship?" He asked softly.

Aurora's slim shoulders again drooped, heavy wings raising enough as if to try to hide herself again. "I.. I don't know, Ezzie... I wish I could" She knew what she had to do. She had to go home to reconcile with her mother, to explain why she hadn't told her... She had to face the music eventually. But what she wanted to do was run away, which is why she was even up here in the first place! The prospect of going with Ezzie was ever so appealing, after all... He would be there. He would be there, as would Dartie, Dia and Feejhu. But... She couldn't just leave her life her behind, no matter how sheltered it may be.
As if by fate, she could hear her name being called. Cringing quietly, she hugged her legs again, ferociously tight. AURORA! Aurorrrrraaaa! Where are you? Come home!
