 She knew what was going on, infact, she had known since that night thats eh would once again carry cubs. She and Moses, they spent nights together quite often, alone, looking at the stars and discussing things, but this night had been different and she had known it wa sthe same as last time, and now here she was, pregnant once again.
The first signs of her pregnancy showed clearly at her sides this morning, her belly quite swollen though she was only in the first part of her term. She had been out half the day in search of Moses, having comandeered Shaitani, she seethed quietly, that carzy leech was pregnant too and it would be up to her no doubt to make sur ethat she didn't just kill the poor things growing in her belly.
She had to find Moses, there were questions in her mind, in ehr heart that she must ask him, plus of course, he needed to know he had done it again. She smiled, she acctually didn't mind this much this time, she enjoyed being a mother, the mother of a whole pride infact, it felt good.

The 'King' was doing as any King would, patrol his territory and make sure everything was alright.
His eyes seeked out anything he sought out as a problem, anything he thought would harm him, his family or his pride, he would soon rectify it, but so far all was at peace...the way he'd promised it would be and he quickly picked up on the scent of his mate.
However the smell was much different...moving to seek her out he soon found her and noticed her swollen form.
He paused only for a moment or two before he moved closer, a regal and elegant stride in his step as he looked over her before rubbing his side against hers, crimson eyes wandering over her.
She was pregnant...that had to be it, no one could gain such a girth in such a short time, besides, his Queen was very active from what he'd seen.
However he waited to see if his queries were confirmed.
"Good day, my Queen."

Afritti couldn't help but smile when he touched her, she knew full well that he would never touch anyone else in such a way, despite the fear that always niggled at her mind about her father. What he was always worried her. Moses wasn't like that she knew.
"You know exactly how to butter me up." She laughed looking him deep in the eye, her tail flickering as she puleld at his jet black mane. She always admired her pale mate, he was handsome, strong, and he had belonged to her for as long as she could remember. She belonged to him now as well though, and she always would.
"If you havn't noticed yet, you've done it again." She rolls her eyes, she wasn't acctually angry to be carrying Moses' cubs, cubs born in to a pride they owned, a pride to be proud of.
She licked her pale lips though and pulled air through her teeth. "Shaitani...She's pregnant as well.." She cut off her words and looked at him, those deep violet eyes holding tightly to the bloody red, she hoped she would not need to ask him straight out, she needed to know he hadn't touched shaitani, that the thing they shared, would never become something he shared with other females. She was posessive yes, it was a part of her, but it was more than that, Moses was the only male she would ever love, truely love, even if she could never say it, she couldn't even tell her cubs she loved them and she expected more of Moses than to expect those words from her.
She needed confirmation, needed to know that he hadn't touched her, it would break her heart if he had and she knew it.

The King let a smirk briefly touch his features as he let her pull at his mane, another litter?
Hmm, he wondered how his two other daughters would react to this? Now that'd be interesting to see when the time came.
He nodded to her softly as she confirmed his thoughts and gently nosed her cheek.
"I had assumed so, but I wanted to make sure." His voice still rang with the emotionless monotony he'd grown up with and sat next to his mate and listening to her intently.
At her last set of words he cocked his head to the side, emotionless look still on his face before he looked off into the jungle shadows in thought and then gave a thoughtful sound.
"Hmm...interesting..." He started. "She must've gone out the borders...I haven't caught the scent of any male around here."
He then turned back to his mate, blood red eyes wandering over her form.
"How has she taken to this?"

Afritti smiles lightly, that was enough confirmation for her, she knew full well Moses would not wander, it was always just there niggling in her mind that he may be like her father. He was nothing like that tyrant though. Nothing at all. She loved him for that.
Flickering her tail she leaned against his thick set body her slender frame sinking in to his curves. At the questions about the mentasl lioness Afritti'dogo sighed heavily and shook her head. "She thinks she has worms." She scoffed.
"I'v told her you have ordered her to stay with me until further notice. I fear she will kill any cubs that come out of her. She isn't in nay way straight in the head!" She looks out accross their prides lands saddly. It acctually upset her that those cubs were in danger.
Before they had come here, only her little family mattered and even then it was very hard to care about them with all of her body and soul. Something had changed since comeing here, she was different and she knew it. She cared for the pride and felt like the mother over all of them. That even inclueded Shaitani even if she was a few bananas short of a whole bunch.

Moses looked over her as she looks out over their lands, eyes blinking slowly before he nodded and gently nudged her cheek with his muzzle, trying in a subtle way to comfort his queen.
Being a King meant he had to make tough choices...he took a small breath before looking at Afritti'.
"What do you plan to do when she has her cubs then?" He asked, ears flattening back against his large black mane, bright red eyes staring at her intently like two glowing gems in the darkness.
He was proud of her, proud she was a queen, so thoughtful, strong and intelligent...he wanted to see if she could think of an idea to take these cubs out of danger.

Afritti sighed softly at his touch, she always felt the world leave her when he touched ehr tenderly, there was just them, together in a great clearing that was the world. It couldn't last forever though, the world always came rushing back. Not thats eh really minded, she loved her world, their world.
The dark, slamon streaked femme smiled. "You know I wouldn't let her hurt them." She chuckles lightly. "I will watch her closely, then when she births them I will remove them one at a time from her. She isn't safe Moses,s he would only harm the poor things." She let a slow sigh roll over her lips. "I hope she doesn't give birth to too many. I'v heard of lionesses giving birth to seven cubs in one go!" She shakes her head. "I don't think I have enough milk for my own plus seven."
She looked up at ehr dark maned mate, she knew no matter what she would manage,s he had to, this was her pride and she would be mother to them all if she had to be. "Plus, I know how good a baby sitter you are." She winks playfully, a rare twinkle coming to those deep violet eyes "Remember that vulture?" She smirks,s he remembered it, she had known from that moment that she needed Moses above all others and that feeling had only grown and strengthened over time.

The male arched a brow, she she planned to take in the other cubs?
Well this was something he'd never seen from his mate, ears perking forward, a small, almost invisible smile coming to his muzzle before he raised himself to his paws and circled to her other side.
"So you're going to be a surrogate to them?" It was mostly a statement than a question and not one he sounded all that disapointed in either.
His paws were placed proudly together as he sat next to her, bright red eyes wandering over her swollen form and sighing in a contented manner.
"I have to say...I'm very proud of you." There was sincerity to his otherwise emotionless voice.
At her comment on the vulture, another smirk slowly flickered over his muzzle as the memory flooded his eyes.
The flurry of talons, feathers, blood...the sweet metalic tang of blood upon his tongue and then looked into the indigo gems that were his mates eyes.
"Yes...I remember, how could I have forgotten?"

Afritti flicked her fringe from her dark eyes watching him as he circled her body. She almost felt embarrssed by his searching gaze, she knew her abdomen was already swollen to nearly twice it's normal size. She felt like a small hippo at the moment. He looked at her differently though and she knew love in his deep bloody gaze.
His words made a tingle roll down her spine and she acctually pysically shivered as he sat back next to her, she tilted her head and licked his nose. "How could I not? This is our pride now, my pride, it is up to me to make sure that the children here in are cared for properly." She turned her gaze to the ground slightly, if she could flush she would have but her dark fur hid any colour of a blush. "They will be my children as well, and I'm sure if I ask the girls they will help me while you are out patrolling." She leans gently in to the curve of his body then, her violet eyes closing.
She lets a soft, chuckling sigh rol over her lips. "You know I decided I wouldn't ever let you go that day." She coos her nose burying in to his dark mane, it was something she had never said to the emotionless male, it was almost an admittance of needing him of jealousy on her part. "I'll never forget that day."

Moses felt a small, visible smile come to his features.
Since being here, since being mated with cubs, he'd felt himself grow more and more...safe to show his growing emotions.
He stuck to his monotonous features like a leech seeing as he'd grown accustomed to it and he would never show his emotions if it showed him as being weak.
But around his mate in her current state, he simply couldn't help but let a brief, smile of pride for her lace his features before it disapeared.
"I will gladly welcome these cubs as my own till they ask of their origins...they will want to know if we are truly their parents one day."
Even he knew they couldn't and shouldn't keep such a secret from a cub, but they would atleast wait till they're of a proper age.
He then looked at her as she lay in the curve of his well muscled form, letting her as he gently licked as her cheek and watched her as she spoke.
"Nor shall I, my Queen."

Afritti caught that smile, she loved his breif moments when his emotions lay on the surface. She never saw him smile for anyone else and she knew that it was infact her smile. Looking up at him she let a soft sigh roll over her lips and she nodded.
"Yes, it wouldn't be fair to let them just think we were their parents. I will care for them as my own though." flickering her tail she closed her eyes once again listening to his gentle words. "If we can do nothing else we can raise them right, raise them for the pride." She felt proud, of her large dark maned mate, proud that he was willing to stand by her through thick and thin and that they both knew it.
"I have to find the girls and tell them. I'm sure they will help me, especially with two litters to care for." She let a slight chuckle roll off he lips "I'll be a milk bar again." She snerks burying her face in his dark mane. She could be herself around Moses, or a part of herself thats he never showed to anyone else. When they were alone she was the soft little princess whom he protected.

The male, the King, her mate...simply sat there, occasionaly lapping over her forehead or nuzzling her cheek with the same emotionless features and maybe a small purr now and then.
"Yes...you will...but you'll be a beautiful milk bar." He said, purring softly while his emotionless eyes looked over her.
A compliment?
It sounded like it.
He then lapped over her cheek once more before he lifted himself to his paws and stepped away.
"I'm going out on patrol...good luck with the girls, my Queen."
And with that Moses started to walk off, on another afternoon of patrol to make sure his pride.
His family.
And his future cubs...would be safe.
