I keep having a dream about me and my boyfriend. He takes me to his prom (He is one year older) and afterwards we get a hotel and have sex. I have told him about this dream and we might make it come true. This would happen next year (if we stay together *knocks on wood*) He would be 17 (a senior) and 16 (a junior) both of us close to our birthdays and next age. Do you think this would be appropriate? Considering our age and the prom and everything. Thanks for your input! I know this is like a year away, but I want to know opinions. I would go to my mom to talk about it as well about birth control and all, but I don't want to talk about if until next year.

When the time comes, if both of you are prepared (seeing an ob-gyn, have protection, have talked about it lots) then why not go for it? Although if you or him have any doubts at all, it's better just to wait. It's good so far that you and him have talked about it, and you are planning on getting protection. ^_^

Just take things one step at a time and go from there. smile Remember it's just a dream.

As long as you:
-know about birth control -have at least one method of birth control you know how to use -know about pregnancy and fertility -know about STDs -go to the ob-gyn -have a plan for accidental pregnancy
then I don't see why you two could not have sex. Personally, I don't think I would have it for the first time on prom night, but that's just me. I feel like people almost feel obligated to have it on certain days (prom, anniversary, Valentine's), so they might rush it is a little. I say do it when you are ready rather than planning for a particular day.
