It is the date December 31st, and a party is planned. The Akatsuki Hotel is hosting a grand party, and everyone is invited!
Wear your best kimono, bring money for games, and don't forget to book your hotel room! Expect a night of unexpected things!
Each character has been given an invitation to the New Years party, held in a hotel run by a group of people called the Akatsuki. The hotel itself is one of the most richest- but for a night, all who holds an invite will get a room for free!
The Setting:
Stepping into the Akatsuki Hotel, you are greeted by the front desk to the right, and a small fountain to the left. A grand staircase is directly in front of you, and you can see two halls leading off from up top, and below. The elevators are located right beside the front desk. Looking up, you can see that the ceiling is painted in a theme of black, white, and red. It's almost mesmerizing to stare at.
There are two floors within the Hotel, and four buildings. The buildings form a sort of square around a large courtyard with a massive pond in the center. You can see that the main building is mostly the lobby, the bulge of the Hotsprings rooms, and the top floor containing employee rooms. The rest of the buildings are for the guests. The courtyard is where the main events are set up, and you are encouraged not to go swimming in the pond. One never knows what might lurk within...
Each room either contains a large, king-sized bed, or two individual twin beds. A bathroom leads off, Japanese-styled, with the tiled floor and walls, and the deep tub. A separate room leads off from that with a toilet and sink. The rooms are equipped with small dining tables, and the beds are low to the floor. The entire hotel holds a Japanese theme.
The Hotsprings are split off into two sides- male and female. They each are lined with smooth rock, and have holders for scented oils to help one relax. There are towel racks where you can hang your towels, and there is a side-room to get fresh towels, robes, and slippers from. They also hold hair bands and caps, in case you don't want to get your hair wet.
The entire hotel, rooms and all, are decked out in dark woods and rich colors of reds, golds, and black. The air about it almost holds a mystery, as a rumor has been about that people have disappeared from exploring the employee halls late at night....
Room service is available, and there is also a dining room just off the main building that is set up as a fancy restaurant. There is also a bar just off of that, for relaxing in front of a container of sake.

Plot:
-A New Years Festival is being held at Akatsuki Hotel. Within the courtyard, games and food stalls will be set up, as well as various merchants. Fireworks will be going off during the evening, and the entire outside area will also be lit up with lanterns, and the faces of people celebrating the New Year. People are being invited from all around the world, and encouraged to participate in as many events as possible.
Rules:
1. Respect all players
2. No controlling other peoples' characters. On top of that, no God-moding.
3. Please be Literate. Use "" for speech. NO ** for actions.
4. At least a paragraph per post.
5. Grammar is nice.
6. Please inform us if you are going to leave for long periods of time.
7. PM me with whom you want to be. Have the topic as 'Ninja New-Year' so I know you've read the rules.

"All the invitations are sent brat..." A rusty red head blinked lazily, leaning against the host(esses)'s podium. He tugged absent mindedly on his golden yukata with maroon koi, a special 'gift' from their boss to make the hotel and staff look more respectable, with each employee having a different kimono or yukata. Of course, a good portion of their paychecks disappeared after the delivery of the clothes...

Deidara yawned and nodded, fussing with the locks of blond that covered his left eye, a blue orb blinking out at the open floor. His kimono was a light gold color, with dark brown cranes on it. He mussed over the fabric of one idly, before examining the papers in front of him. Invites having being sent meant that they'd get more people. Sure, everyone with an invite got a free room for the New Years party, but most of the vendors available were going to also be paying the hotel for their rented space in the courtyard.
"Hmm... I wonder how many people are gonna actually come, Danna..." he murmured, looking over to his partner. "I mean, it's a tough chance to pass up, un." A thumb rubbed over a slit in the palm of his hand, and a second mouth opened. The blond made a weirded-out face, and blanched at his hand, where a tongue had licked his thumb. "Yuck, hmm." he mumbled.

"Well, we are located close to the Hana Tenno Shrine* so those wishing to be blessed or have their children blessed will probably be traveling here from the countryside. So there's a good chance we'll have a good handful of nobles coming..." The shorter male huffed, scanning over one of five different menu layouts that he was supposed to choose for Shoogatsu*. The male didn't have to glance to the side to figure out the cause of the 'Yuck!'
"Hm, you know Kakuzu or I could sew them closed easily... " The male's brown eyes trailed over the second version of the menu that had delicate looking herons printed in sepia in the background. He flipped to the next which had deep reds and greys in it.
(* Hana Tenno= Flower Goddess (roughly translated) I made it up XD
**We learned about all sorts of festivals in Japanese class so I'll fill everybody in on Shoogatsu. Its celebrated from New Year's night till January 7th, basically an extended New Year's party. Only currently has Japan switched to the Western style of birthdays, originally when you were born you were one, then whenever Ney Year's came around, everyone would become one year older. (example: You were born on December 31st, the next day you would be two) So, untill recently, everyone's brithday was January 1st, and often people would just go to shrines for either coming of age or new birth and health, etc.)

We didn't learn much about festivals and such, in my Japanese class >3>; ))
Deidara nodded with a small 'un' of agreement. He then blinked and looked over at the redhead. He soon looked displeased, and huffed, looking away again. "I'd like to see you get your mouth sewed shut, hmm." he mumbled, caressing the slit to the hand-mouth again lightly. He didn't comment that he already had one sewn shut. Partially done with his small bout of unhappiness, he looked over at the menus, examining the different color themes.
"Hmmn... un, why do we have so many choices to pick from, 'Sori-Danna?" he asked, looking to his brown-eyed partner. "It would save us a lot of time if Boss-sama had just like, two or three, un, to choose from."

Sasori rolled his eyes, "Usually Konan-san does this, but she's been up to her neck in getting the decorations OUTSIDE done, booths and other things up, and even with Pein-sama helping she's stilll busy... so, Pein-sama's tried his hand at decorating several times, but he still isn't as good as a woman, obviously when it comes to these things. And so, second opinions come in.... "
The red head tugged absent-mindedly on a lock of his hair become plucking a menu with peacocks, phoenixs and sakura trees out of the bunch, deciding to use those. Sasori called to a small servant girl, instructing her to make multiple copies of the choosen menu become he waltzed back to the podium, leaning warily against its wooden frame.

Deidara nodded a little, watching Sasori talk to one of the girls that worked there under them, and then sighed as the other male returned. "Wonder where 'Same and Itachi are... they don't have very much to do right now, do they, hm?" he asked, looking at his nails. They were painted messily, so he cleaned some of the excess off with another nail. "I mean, we're almost set up and everything, un." he added. He was obviously expressing that he was bored. Even just the simple arrival of a guest would be more interesting then just standing there, like that.
"'Danna, why are we even down here if nobody's here yet, hmm?" The blond complained.

Sasori heaved a large internal sigh, not wanting to have to deal with a bored Deidara. "We're down here incase a guest DOES wander in, and if you're so bored then either go find Kisame-san and Itachi-san or go see if Konan can give you something to do kid..." The read head huffed, his breath directed up, lifting his bangs out of his pale face for a moment. In the mean time, Sasori pulled out a small book from his robes, opening it to a dog-earred page, on the cover was "Sudoku" it was a strange kind of puzzle involving numbers and logic but it kept Sasori's hands and head busy.

(( Not gonna be on for a few hours... goin' off to an SCA event... )) Deidara huffed and puffed out his cheeks for a few moments, before letting out a sigh. "Who's gonna wander around in a restaurant, un, when they've only just arrived? Hmm?" he mumbled, and went back to playing with his hand-mouths, making soft disgusted noises every time his fingers were licked. He didn't say it, but he really didn't want to leave his partners' side. "What's that, Danna, un?" he asked, looking at the redheads' book.

Setting the invitation and envelope down Gaar sighed. He hated parties. He almost hated them as much as he hated being around his sister and her friends. He knew that they would surely be over for New Years, and he decided that the lesser of two evils would be the better option. The invitation was adressed to the family, but he would most certainly make sure Temari would never see this. He then paced around silently looking for a good place to put the invitation. He knew he had at least another 30 minutes before his sister would be home and by that time, the invitation should be well-hidden and she of course ould never know.

Of course, Gaara sometimes forgot about his brother...
"Hey- What's that?" Kankuro asked, walking in to lean against the doorway of the room. He'd been doing some work, but now he was taking a break, and he noted his brother reading something from where he stood. He walked over and reached over, snagging the invitation and envelope. "A new years party, eh?" he asked, reading it. "Hosted by the Akatsuki Hotel...." he paused, thinking for a few moments. "That's that one ritzy place, isn't it?" he grinned.
"We should definitely go!"

Gaara forgot about his brother, but he bothered him a lot less than his sister did at times. A lot. Gaara thought how to reply thinking of all the possibilities and excuses he could think of, and yet none of them made any sense at all, because he couldn't think of an actual excuse for him already having any plans on a holiday. He then looked at his brother and said, "Yes, but I wont go if we tell Temari about this. We'll keep it a secret. How does that sound?" He didn't mind his brother, besides if he went his brother would be the only one he knew. It wasn't like he was social anyways.

Kankuro blinked at Gaara after the comment about their sister. He seemed to think for a moment, and then grinned. "Deal. She's a pain with these kinds of things, and I really don't want to get dragged around by her wherever she wants us to go. Last year, she nearly pulled my arm out of its' socket." he grimaced lightly at the memory, and then gave his brother a lazy smile. "She won't even know about it." he vowed, pocketing the invitation and its' envelope.
He headed for the door, and then paused, looking back at the redhead. "Hey... we should start packing soon, then. We can probably get there sometime tonight, if we leave soon. Maybe we can take my van, and leave before Temari even gets home. That'll keep her on her toes." he grinned, and then left the room to head for his own.
