User ImageIn the midst of it, her large white wings spread out across her body. She flapped her wings rapidly, trying to cushion her own fall. The Valkyrie didn't need anyone to cushion her fall. She wasn't weak, she could do things by herself. But it would not be right to just storm off and not apologize to having almost landed on him.

After landing on her paws, her wings folded in towards her sides, a rather expressionless face remained, "My apologies. I had not meant to almost land on you."

Pressing his front paws together, Seiji glanced over her. "One would hope not.. Luckily you were able to break your fall - and no injuries?" There was also the question of how she had come to be flying through the air towards his head, but..

The rest of the RP via AIM:

Kira
Her eyes squinted lightly as she eyed him up. She was judgemental even now. Always "scouting" for potential warriors for her Lord. He didn't seem like he'd be a bad candidate. The armor clearly indicated he was a warrior, though...a weird one. Why would he not move out of the way if he saw her coming? Either way, it was best not to keep him waiting, "No. No injuries, thank you. I assume it is the same for you as well?" Her voice stern, with only the smallest hint of genuine concern for the other.

Mau
Seiji folded his paws together, and shook his head slightly. "It would take a great deal more than that to do harm to me." He frowned slightly. Whoever this kitsu was, she did not seem overwhelmingly friendly.. or keen on having his company. To him, this was a good thing - he abhored clingy females. And he had had his share of clingy females. Without realizing it, he shuddered slightly at the thought.

Kira
With a curt nod, that was that. There was no need for further investigation or further conversation, right? Even if that was the case, she should at least scout a little further. He sparked an interest in her--for better or for worse. At the least she could ask him about his past and his skills as a warrior. Perhaps they could test out their skills as well. She would enjoy that. Hiding whatever grin was forming on her maw, she asked, "So, warrior, may I at least ask for your name?"

Mau
His one visible lavender eye narrowed slightly at her calling him warrior. "Date. Seiji. Yours?" The return question was asked merely out of politeness, and not out of genuine interest.

Kira
"Lenneth." Simple and short. There was really no need to add the 'Valkyrie' part to it. Needless explanation would only waste their time. If the time should come when she needed to explain that part, she would do it then and not a moment sooner. No need to tell a stranger more than necessary, right? Though she did hope the time would not come anytime soon. He seemed like he could entertain her, or at least keep her interest for a little bit. Bemused, she asked, "How skilled are you with that sword?" Her emerald eyes lingered on them for a short moment before returning to his lavender-colored eye.

Mau
"I have defended my life - and the lives of my friends - with this sword." Seiji shifted the sword slightly, unconsciously. He did not like speaking of past times, but he knew that he would now have to answer many more questions. It was what always happened when that was brought up.

Kira
On the contrary, she held little interest of his past. She never cared too much for the past. It was always the present that held the most interest for her. Whenever she gathered a warrior for her Lord it was never about what they did--all she cared about were their current traits. Whatever they left behind was their business, not hers. She was only curious about his skills. "Would you care to demonstrate?"

Mau
Seiji blinked. It was not the response he had exptected. "Why?"

Kira
"You seem skilled and I have not had a good spar in a while now. You may turn down the sudden offer if you so wish. I did just spring it upon you after all." She just wanted to test him out. Of course, she would judge him based on how he held his way with his sword, but something else besides that sparked her interest. This something she couldn't quite place a paw on just yet. Perhaps it'll straighten itself out once she holds this match with him.

Mau
"I suppose.. " He gave a mild shrug. Although he had not fought in some time, he had still trained regularly, and held little fear of defeat or dishonor. "I do not usually fight women."

Kira
Well, technically she wasn't really alive...Before this body anyway. She was more like an ethereal form, more like the gods. She trained regularly, too, but training alone was never enough. Even with the help of her son it wasn't the same. She could never go full out on him the same way she could with someone else. "Then do not think of me as a woman. If a woman were to hold a sword against your throat, would you fight back then?" With that last sentence her sword quickly drew as her wings pushed her forward. Ah, yes, this was the thrill she sought.

Mau
He had drawn his sword against women in the past - all unwillingly, but all necessary. "Why are you so eager to fight? Or do you merely want to test your skill?" One paw rested gently against the handle of his sword, but he made no move to unsheath it.

Kira
Interesting question. She never really thought too much over it. Hm, probably because she was eager for a fight more than anything. Through and through she was made to be a warrior, and that's all she really knew: how to fight. Emotions were unnecessary, even if she did grow attached to someone once--enough to have children. "Perhaps it is the latter of the two. Draw your sword." With one more push she could hold the blade of her sword right against his throat. Another push after that could end badly for him. She pushed on, still, but waited on the inside for his reaction.

Mau
Seiji watched her charge with interest, but hesitated to draw his sword. At the last moment, he drew his sword in a blur, defended himself against her blade.

Kira
Her keen eyes could see the hesitation in his movement. Something about him reminded her of her son. Perhaps it was the manner in which he carried himself, or maybe his "policy" or morals. He held little interest in the fight. Tch. It was no fun if it was one-sided. She sheathed the sword and dropped to the ground, a frown upon her maw. "Your lack of interest dissolves my own interest. Why the hesitation? If you hesitated one more I could have killed you."

Mau
"I do not enjoy fighting - you seem to enjoy it too much. My blade is only for defense." Even in training, he did not use an actual blade. With a small nod of his head, he returned his own sword to its sheath, and turned back to her.

Kira
Fighting was a habit. Whenever she was sent down not only did she merely gather, but she had to train also. Training involved fighting. She had seen her fair share of bloodshed, but they were usually monsters. Lesser forms she deemed unworthy. "You certainly are an interesting one. You remind me very much of someone I know." Hm, perhaps it was not only of her son, but of someone else, too. Someone long forgotten by now.

Mau
"I do?" One ear perked, then sagged down. She was an odd creature, which explained why he was still talking to her. Normally he would have found a (polite) way to excuse himself by now.

Kira
With a small nod, she explained, "Yes. You remind me of my son a bit. The morals or predetermined manner in which you act or try to act around women reminds me of him. If I were not his mother and the one who teaches him the way of the sword, he would not draw his sword against me even if I had the intent to kill him." He was interesting, too, not just because he reminded her of her son. If he weren't interesting, she would have simply left by now. It was most curious as to why she found him so interesting, perhaps even more curious than his intriguing personality.

Mau
"Your son?" One eyebrow quirked before he looked her over once again - with more interest than he had displayed throughout their interaction. She did not look old enough to have offspring - much less one old enough to hold a sword against the female.

Kira
Sigurd, the only child of three she lives with and keeps contact with. More often than not she wishes to see the others and hopes to see them well, but it seemed less likely with each day. The last encounter she had with her former mate didn't exactly send good vibes of another encounter soon. "Yes, my son. His name is Sigurd. When he was born he was given a sword from me as a present. Since then he has learned from me how to use his sword properly. Though he still hesitates, especially when it comes to females. He would rather die first than lay a paw on a female in an act of violence." A soft sigh escaped as she said it. She was rather proud that he would hold such thoughts, but at the same time she wish he would hold no hesitation as well. No use changing it, though.

Mau
"You are unhappy with this?" How strange. He sensed no darkness.. no evil.. from this creature. Yet her interest in fighting and the statements about her son almost contradicted.

Kira
She was not evil, but she was not just either. Though in the eyes of most she was considered a witch, a devil, and anything associated with evil. She did take away lives, though only ones that were on the verge of dying anyway. "In a way, yes. I wish he would hold no hesitation no matter his opponent. At the same time, however, I am glad to know I raised him well in terms of morals. Or at the least, glad to know he would stand by his beliefs so strongly." There were times when she doubted her maternal abilities. She never expected to be a mother, let alone raise a child on her own.

Mau
Her answer relieved him. It was a valid reason for concern - if it came down to death at the end of a woman's sword, then a choice must be made. "That is a valid reason to worry. He may find himself in danger someday.. but you have obviously trained him well."

Kira
She wasn't worried about him hesitating to defend himself against a woman's sword as she was about him drawing his sword against one in a life and death situation. In the end, she would not want to lose him. He was her responsibility and also her son. But it wasn't only that which caused her concern, though they were valid reasons. If she were to imagine him suddenly...vanishing from her life the pain itself was unimaginable. Though she was not the best at showing her emotions, especially to her child, she loved him dearly, and she loved him more than anything else. "Well, I shall hope and keep hoping the chance never comes up for him to decide. I am afraid he will choose the right choice in terms of 'morality', but the wrong choice in terms of self-preservation." She chuckled lightly in attempts to make it a little more light-hearted. It was weird talking to him about all of this. Maybe she was just lonely and wanted to speak to someone, but that didn't seem like a valid reason to tell him her fears and her personal life.

Mau
Seiji nodded. Shin was like that.. though as of yet he had not failed to protect his own life when it was demanded. "One of my friends prefers peace and will not raise his weapon unless his life is in danger.. But better him than Shuu."

Kira
"Shuu?" She asked curiously. Her son would make the right choice if it ever came. The best she can do is hope he will come home that night. She could convince him all she wanted, but in the end the decision was all up to him and no one else's.

Mau
"Another of my friends.. he does not think, but merely throws himself onto the battlefield. It is deadly." He shook his head sadly. Shuu would someday throw hismelf into the wrong battle, and the others would not always be there to save him.

Kira
"I see. I have encountered ones similar to this Shuu you speak of. One of whom was a King, sadly. Driven mad by power and conquest he neglected his own people and chose to kill for the sake of what was then the broken country rather than fulfill his duties as a king. It is rather sad to see those types of people." Though now that she thought about it, she didn't act too far from the mold of this Shuu person. She charged rather blindly toward him hell bent on fighting him. Some personal reflection was in store for later.

Mau
"Fortunately, my friend has only the best interets of others at heart. He would never hurt others wihout good reason." Indeed, or Seiji would have not remained friends with him. He had no use for those who abused others, for whatever reasons.

Kira
"Well, people usually tend to act based on the interests of others. However good those intentions may be has no true black or white value to them. They are merely perceptions from different sides; different angles if you will. Sigurd's intentions are usually for the best, as well. He will never draw a sword unless to defend himself, and only if the situation calls for it. Rather than harming someone potentially innocent, he would rather be branded as a 'coward' for running away than staying to fight." Her intentions weren't always for the best, to say the least. But unlike her son, she was less thoughtful and more bashful when it came to most things.

Mau
"That is true." He nodded in agreement.

Kira
"Well, it is rather late out now. It is best I return home for the night. Date, it was a pleasure meeting you. Perhaps we will meet again if our paths will cross?"

Mau
It was getting rather dark out. That surprised him - time had passed by quickly without him noticing. "If our paths cross.. Lenneth."
