I love Death Note. I watched it and it didn't feel right after Light started playing god in his own way and ppl started to worship the new god of justice "Kira" [translated to english: Killer] He had the power to kill anyone, as long as he knew there apearance and full name. So, anyway. If you guys think you shouldn't watch it, think is anything good coming out of the series? Something did for me. I saw how Light consumed ppl thinking he was justice and god of his new world; also how he used Misa-chan >.< ... My favorite character was L when he died it occured to me why would someone wanna be GOD? Some ppl truly don't understand what God has to do. God loves all right? He came and died for us. He gave us the choice to love him. He didn;'t force us to love him he gave us choice of our own lives. Well, at the end when Light was proven that he was Kira and how he reacted so Satanicly. I think that when I saw that God told me how Satans wants to be God. When Light died and all the people couldn't belive it how he decieved his father, his friend L, Misa, and the Police, the World, don't let Satan get to you even if it is just cussing, pornogrophy, stealing, drugs, it destroys you, but also everyone who loves you and looks up to you. The anime tought me that no one can play god, but God.

Light really believed he could change the world and create a utopia. What would anyone else have done? What would you do? How might you plan to change the world, create a new world order, and finally bring sorrow to an end? What would you do/give to have that power?

Plus the 13 day rule was proven fake, by Near.

you're rigth Nippy... i think that the only way to the world is forgive each other not killin' each other... if Jesus died for all us.... to forgive all our sin..
anyway talkin' about death note i think it shows another side of life... someone tha take control of ppl's life and decide to make justice... but it's his way to see justice...

I haven't ever seen or read the anime/manga, however it seems that the Lord has worked in his mysterious ways to prove something to you XD Or maybe he did this to pop that thought into you mind so you would tell us! Because I see what your getting at! Wow, you make a really good point!

 That's exactly how I've always looked at it.
Granted that it wasn't really made to learn more about Christianity since it has shinigami and a notebook that kills people, it does show that man is flawed and cannot be ruled by the laws of man.
It is only under God's laws that we can get a little bit closer to a utopia, but a utopia won't exist till Satan's gone.
This topic has become a huge debate in the A/M/C but it's good to see people looking at the anime from a Christian perspective.

 Humans are selfish.
If a human did have the power and brains that Light did, they'd do the same thing. Belief is also a factor, but it seemed that Light didn't believe in much till Ryuk acctually came to him. If anything, Death Note is a great example of what would happen if death notes were real and the such. Then again if they were, Christianity would be in danger lol.
Also, in Death Note, it stated those who have the death note are cursed. Even though Misa was used, in the end she ended up getting tortured along with Light and in the end lost her life because of the death note.
Satan doesn't try to get people to follow him. His goal is to get us to not believe in God. Is satan trying to rule? Kinda, but his main focus is to steer us away from God's love, aka giving into sinful actions.
