If you can make it work, I see nothing wrong.
But it lacks psychical connection, I don't mean sex, maybe face to face connection is a better way to word it.

It has to be very casual or else it won't work.

SUICIDE AS AN ART FORM It has to be very casual or else it won't work. Yep, you have to allow the sex with other people, as you only have a purely emotional/mental element to it, no physical, which is something a relationship needs.

I agree, there's a very important physical aspect to any sort of romantic relationship. It just doesn't work as well as you pretend you're okay without social/physical contact of any sort, I dont necesarily mean sex but once one person has had sex, they're not going to be able to sit around and just talk to you online. Sometimes I just worry about people who put there emotions so far out there yet they don't have the normal physical-ness of a regular relationship. But to each his own, right?

Theres the loss of intimacy as well, as you said, not sex, but being able to cuddle on a sofa whilst watching a film, or just holding hands when walking down the street, small things that make a lot of difference.

Thank you for confusing "casual relationship" with "open relationship".

I now have "all the small things" stuck in my head... =) it really is the small things that make up a huge part of the relationship... even long distance relationships are kind of the same as online relationships. It is really lame when you can't just hold someones hand or simply sit in the same room as them and not say anything. I like talking but sometimes its nice to just... sit and be there.
