Ookai wandered outside, having met everyone in the house was slightly mind blowing with so many to meet, with yet to meet more since not everyone was home. He took a drag from his cigarette and blew it out slowly. Not many from the house took to him that quick but he understood why.

Nerves... why did people even have nerves? What was the point in getting all worked-up about nothing?
But... well, it was crowded...
After all, claustrophobia took no prisoners. It was kill or be killed with a fright like that, and he'd rather stay alive, if it were up to him. Quentin wasn't a terribly brave canine, but he knew that he'd rather be well.
Shoving the doors to the orphanage shut behind him and turning around, he allowed himself to make a dull thud against the solid block behind him, taking a deep breath of relief as he let himself slide to the ground--but the air seemed to be a little tainted--he caught the stench of tobacco wafting about, and it made his nostrils twinge.
Looking around for the culprit, he finally settled his calm auburn eyes upon another wayward--and the cigarette that he'd had in his hand, finding a sigh forming behind his lips.
Oh, well... at least there was only one other person out here... and oh, how he preferred the silence.

Ookai watched as another wayward came out of the pound. He looked the other up and down and decided he didn't feel like introductions. With so many already, he was tired of them. If the other wanted to talk, let him, but he wasn't going to say anything at all, well, not first at least. He paused and stretched, his arms landing folded behind his head.
Getting slightly bored with doing nothing, he thought of a couple of scenarios of him talking to the other wayward. He didn't particularly care what others thought of him, but it always amused him that he caused fear at first glance.

Huh? Not even going to try to maul him with attention? What was up with this Wayward?
You see, Quentin was a terribly shy sort, and all the meetings-and-greetings didn't usually bowl over well, because he had already been feeling crowded... when every other pet and his dog went over to say hello. He had had to get away from them... somehow.
But... this one outside? He said nothing. Didn't really even look for all that long... so... maybe he didn't want to talk?
Sheepishly, the blond boy in his pink shirt let his arms cross over each other, gripping where a longer sleeve might have ended, and he kept his head down, not sure precisely what to do. After all, he wanted some kind of conversation, so the other male didn't seem quite so creepy... but he didn't really want all that much to talk.
His dilemma was bordering on frustrating.

Ookai glanced at the other a little. Surprisingly, he wasn't at all hopeful the other would want to talk to him. He was used to being alone and knew why. His interests were different than other peoples, and he was ok with that.

Well, maybe if he wasn't talking, he wanted to be left alone? He did keep looking over... so what was he thinking?
"H-Heh... it's a lot... quieter... out here... isn't it?" he eventually stuttered out, his voice barely on the edge of audible.

Ookai pulled his cigarette out with one hand and ran his other through his hair,"Mm, yes it is. Kind of nice not to be surrounded by a ton of new people."

A quiet, almost relieved chuckle escaped the boy's lips after a moment, and he sighed inwardly to himself.
So... maybe he wasn't as scary as he looked?
"Yeah..." he agreed slowly; quietly. "I... ehh... don't think I want to go back in there, just yet."

Ookai chuckled,"I hear that. Too many names to remember, probably wont even remember a fourth of em that were said." He stuck his cigarette back into his mouth and took a drag, blowing it out sporadically.

A tiny little smile then crossed the canine's face, and he offered an almost unnoticeable nod toward the other's statement. "Yeah... it's a little overwhelming..." he agreed lowly. "That, and I don't like that whole 'crowded' feeling..."

Watching the cigarette waggle with the other's words was beginning to make Quentin just a little nervous.
"W-would I?" he asked, his eyes turning up toward the other with some kind of mustered courage. After all, now that he was actually taking in the appearance of this rather... different individual, he was beginning to look... more and more formidable.

"One more and there's fifty of us in the house," Ookai said. "And I haven't even met them all," he sighed. He looked over at the other,"What about where you live?" he asked, not even thinking that he was possibly making the other nervous

The dog-boy seemed rather wide-eyed when the other mentioned this.
"F-Fifty? I'dve gotten out of there, too..." he ended quietly, his tail tucked just a slight bit moreso than usual.
Wait... where he lived? He... well, he really didn't even know, yet.
"Um... I... I haven't found anyone to room with... and I'm just settling in, really."
