"Ew. Don't put that in your mouth."
Frowning, Max reached out to extract a stick from Brisby's tiny hands, the little panda doing his best to try and eat the thing. He'd thought it a good idea to take Brisby out to the park today for some air and sun, though he was beginning to regret this notion. Brisby had taken too much of a liking for taking random things and trying to eat them. Not like he should have been HUNGRY. Max had been sure to feed him before leaving.
Kids were so weird.
"No," he repeated, now trying to disentangle the stick from Brisby's fingers.
Brisby squawked irritably at Max trying to pull the stick back. NO. His stick, damn it!

Taavi's idea had been much like Max's: fresh air and sunlight would undoubtedly do the pale boy some good.
"For the love of little fishes, Cal. Stop staring at the sun." Taavi sighed, putting a pair of adult sized sunglasses on the boy. It took him a moment to notice them, and when he did he just knocked them off and chewed on them slightly. Bwah.
Taavi sighed and, spotting another man with baby, decided to go over and say hello. "Afternoon. He seems kinda attached to that stick."

Managing to tug away the stick at last, Max looked up at the unfamiliar pair. "Afternoon." he glanced at the stick in his grasp. "Yup. He keeps trying to--"
"AIIEEEEEEE! BAH BAH BAH BWAUGH!" Enraged that he'd lost his stick, Brisby began screeching and trying to regain his stick, though it obviously did him little good.
"No. You're not eating it again."
"GWAAAUUGH."

Taavi laughed at the loud little baby. Cal slowly looked over at the noisemaker, but made no noises of his own. Just nommed his glasses and stared up at the sky.
"For the love of little fishes, Cal..." Taavi sighed, moving the boy into the shade. "Dunno why, but he likes staring at the sun. I hope he's not brain damaged."

Staring into the sun...? Max's head cocked slightly to the side at that. "Maybe he likes the warmth?" Lame offer, but it was the only reason he could think of for such behavior.
"UWEEH."
Max finally had to give in to Brisby's whining. "Fine. Take the stick. But don't--"
CHOMP.
"No more stick for you."
Another mini-struggle for the stick ensued. Brisby began to wail as Max tossed away the stick, but the cry cut off quickly as he saw the new baby-thing nearby. Eh?

Taavi shrugged, and plucked the baby out of his stroller, finally getting the first sound out of him at the contact.
"EEEEHN!" Cal shrieked, squirming. No touching!
As soon as he was plunked on the floor the squealing stopped. Ehn. No touchies.
"Loud little bugger."

Max made a noise of assent, picking up Brisby and setting him closer to the pale child. Yes, the other kid was eerie-looking, but Max didn't mind. He'd obviously caught Brisby's attention, as the little panda wasn't screeching over the loss of his stick.
"See him, Brisby?"
"Baa!" Brisby bounced on Max's knee excitedly, making grabby hand motions at Cal. He wanted to look closer!

Cal looked up at the other baby unblinkingly. Why hello, new thing.
"He usually gives that stare." Taavi shook his head and flopped down in the grass nearby. Ah, babies. Never too early to start your socialization.

Letting Brisby go do whatever he did, Max leaned back on the heels of his palms, watching the two little ones go at it. 'What's his name?"
Whoo! Now free, Brisby instantly made a beeline for the white baby. When he was close enough, he plopped down, peering with great interest at the other. Then, with one hand, he reached out to poke the other. Poke. Poke poke.

"The note said 'Calaveras', but I mostly call him Cal, 'cause I can't really pronounce his name right." Taavi snorted. Oh, this should be fun.
Cal blinked, his brow furrowing after a minute. Ehn? Touching? "EHN!" He growled, worming away from the pokes.

Aww, no fun. Brisby pouted as the other one scooted away. No more funny noises? Fine then! There was plenty of other fun stuff to get to!
Deeming Cal no longer interesting, Brisby veered off on his own direction. The quest? Find another stick or something to chew on!
Max, easily guessing Brisby's attentions, rose from his seat to pick up an out-of-reach Brisby. "No you don't," he warned, once again setting the panda down by his seat again.
"UWEEEEH!" No! He didn't want to be with this boring thing!

"AGH." No, no things should not go like this! Quickly growing frustrated with the other baby, Brisby reached out and smacked him. There! Take THAT.
"Brisby!" Thaat was it. Playtime was over if the two were going to get violent. Once again Max stood, picking up the baby, who glared grumpily at Cal. "Sorry. Guess it's a bad day for both of them."
