Minerva the Whore 4 Books

Gaia permanently banned my MinervaEvenstar account. exclaim eek They accused me of botting by refreshing pages or something. I e-mailed inquiry@gaiaonline.com and explained that for the last few days everytime I posted it didn't say "click here to view your message," but instead, "a general error occurred," hence I clciked the back button to get to the thread and clicked refresh in order to view my message. I wasn't "cheating to get gold," as the e-mail informing me of my ban described it. It's so devastating, especially since I just created a guild and everything. crying I just wanted you all to know that I am me...if that makes sense.
By the way, I know that we're not supposed to post anything non-HP related, but we don't have a "general discussion" subforum or anything for me to post this under. Consequently, I need to make this thread Harry Potter orientated...Ah-ha! I know! Both my old and new accounts have the name Minerva in them. That is my actual name and in Latin it means "goddess of wisdom." Do you think this is suitable for McGonagall, or should she have had a name that meant Gryffindor courage instead of Ravenclaw wisdom?

Even though she has the courage of Gryffindor, I can not think about McGonagall without thinking her very wise! I think everyone has a bit of each house in them, their sorting is just what they let shine through the most. I'm sure when she was sorted, being a young'in she wasn't quite so wise.

I agree, I think that Minerva is a good name for her because she is very wise. She also is a very brave person. I mean, you saw her in the 7th book!!
She almost seems as if she could be both Head of House for Ravenclaw and Gryffindor, but thats not possible, I don't think.

Minerva fits. I mean...I don't really know the Latin word for courage is...but I just can't imagine McGonagall's name being "Courage" or something like that. It would be rather...not right. Also, reiterating what PadfootsPet said, a person can have all or at least most of the qualities that are embodied by the other houses. However, the defining trait/most prominent trait is what really distinguishes them from all the other houses. Sure McGonagall is smart and all, but more than anything, she was brave and very leader-like.

And I hereby award Gryffindor 5 points for your cleverness! P.S. Latin for courage is courago.Cor is Latin for 'heart' and both Minervas certainly have plenty of that!

Sorry to hear about your ban. :[
As for Mcgonagall...I think it fits her. That's how she looks to me - wise. Sure, she represents Gryffindor in all her glory, but one look at her and the reaction is cunning, or wisdom, not exactly courage. Though, they all go hand in hand, if you ask me. [:
