The birth had been really hard for the exhausted red furred lioness. This was the first time she had ever given birth and instead of one or two, she had six cubs! The number still boggles her mind as she stars tiredly at her little cubs. All of them looked similar to at least one member of her group, a few like her red little girl looked like they could have been Aten’s and hers. The only thing that gave them away was the fact that they looked like their mix parentage, leopons.

Breathing the relief from pain, her last cub born and already cleaned, she felt she could finally spend a few moments not roaring out to hide her pain. There was still much work to do, but now it was the nice work. Nosing her first born, she licked the little brown rosette covered cub. He had the same creamy color on his muzzle and around his eyes as his father had on his main body. The little white at the end of his tail made her smile to see, just like her tail. Naming the darling cub, she chose to name him Asphamet. There was no reason; she could think of, the name just came to her mind so that’s what she named him. Her curiosity was endless about what color eyes they would show when they finally started opening their eyes.

Leaving that cub alone for a moment so he could feed or rest in peace, she turned to her next born, another little male. Nosing him as well, she gave her baby a lick that had nothing to do with cleaning. Just like his brother, he had cream back toes, the color of their father but the placement of their mother white toes. He had a cream tail and black end just like his father. This muzzle and eyes were the same as his brother, besides markings the two could almost be confused as twins. For him, she named him Kijani, her little warrior. Just watching him, she was sure he’d be a strong young leopon. Anyone teases them for what they are; they have three lions full of fight, and tough little leopons to deal with.

Turning next cub, he looked like a shock, from earth browns and reds to a bold white cub. He was a feisty little male, squeaking when she licked him because it made him dislodge from his source of food. As he reattached and began to suckle again contently, she smiled. While she had a little white on her, he was almost completely white with black points for his legs, muzzle eyes and ears. Same with his brothers and his mother, his little hind toes were like hers, only difference was his are white. She named him, Sewelo for he was an exceptional little thing, born by a chance meeting but loved so entirely just like his litter mates.

Her next cub had been a pleasant surprise, licking her first little girl; she felt Sare'Nafsi was the perfect name for such a lovely little girl, a free spirit for certain. She was a lovely brown and cream combination with the same belly markings as her mother. The darling cub looked similar to her first two brothers but radically different from her third brother. The toes were again the same; she loved seeing what made them different as well as so similar.

The first one to have her red was her second daughter, her little desert rose, Khozama. She was the one that looked the most like what a cub from her and Aten might look like; she could be their little sister if she wasn’t her daughter. After the hours of painful birth, no one was denying any of these wonders came from her. She was two shades of red, dark and light. The markings were similar to her Aten’s certainly looking nothing like her father besides the signs of what she was, a leopon. Smiling she nosed her daughter again and licked her once more. She’d never get enough of her lovely cubs, and she was excited that those girls and boys would have a figure to call father and a loving aunt, not to discount their adoring mother, of course.

On to her last cub, the one she was worried she’d lose him, or lose her own life in the difficult last birth after the ordeal of six. He had markings most like Aten’s, in inverse of his sister’s and the white stomach of his mother that he sort of shared with his youngest older brother, wasn’t really the same because Sewelo had white just about everywhere. Like his second sister, there was no white or cream on his paws and he was mostly red. It was the little arrow like marks that he shared with Kijiani, only he had two instead of the one of his brother. That marking was worn by one other creature, Aten. Licking her lovely white and red cub, she named him for the white markings on his cheek, Motsu which means arrow. Cleaning the cub, she forgave him for holding out and hoped the difficult entrance into he world would not mark him.

Unable to wait, her looks went between her cubs, and searching for Kamaria and Aten, to see what they thought of her little family, their family. Of course, the moment there was even a squeak, the new mother was looking down and checking over to make sure all six were alright.

The older girl, Sare seemed determined to fulfill her name. She seemed ready to wander off and explore, but allowed herself to be reigned in by her mother. She mewled and sniffed, but didn't cry. This new world was colder, and different, but she wasn't scared. She pushed her way blindly until she found a source of warmth, one of her brothers. Sare nestled into his small shape, sharing the warmth.

Senatla was close to horrified when her cub had tried to wonder off at all. They were too young, too new to be even a foot from her, she was determined of that. Licking her older daughter, she softly purred to her children, gently whispering, "You are all so beautiful and so perfect." Smiling warmly, the fears she had been melted for now, her little world was peaceful.

Sewelo cuddled warmly next to his mother, nuzzling his sister when she nestled against him. Pawing softly at his mother, he settled happily with the warmth of his siblings around him. In his blindness, he was safe, warmer and just fed. The world was a pretty good place even if it was cooler and much dryier.

The first born cub was a lively one, wriggling between his siblings while letting out some small impatient mewls before he found one of his mothers teats and started suckling.
Food! Warm, tasty food...and amongst these warm bodies and the comforting softness of his mother, made all the sweeter for it.

Senatla smiled warmly at her lively first born son, licking the boy out of affection while he fed. It was such a strange experince, yet one she fully enjoyed. Looking down at the little bodies and knowing that not only did she bring them into the world but now she was providing them with food and warmth. Purring contently, she watched with such a loveing gaze. After being alone and terrified for so long, thing had turned for the best, she was back with her friends and got to meet the little loves that snuggled so close.

Kamaria tried rather determinedly to sooth Senatla during her birthing. In truth, it was Kamaria who needed soothing more than her friend. The spotted lioness had tear stains down her cheeks and had worn herself thin during the months in which her friend was not in her company. If it were not for Ten by her side, the lioness surely would have withered away.

As the cubs finally came, Kamaria's eyes went wide. They were absolutely gorgeous! When she had met with Senatla to find her pregnant, Kamaria was furious! Where was the male? Why had he left her? Now, to find that the cubs resembled their mother, the lioness was more at ease. These cubs would not live a life with a broken family. In fact, they had stumbled into the world with a family greater in number than others. Kamaria would strive to show the cubs a great amount of love and she was certain that Ten would do the same.

Once it was clear that Senatla had finally finished and the cubs were cleaned and purring, Kamaria took a step closer to get a better look. "I couldn't have done it better..." was all she said to the new mother as tears began to flow again. She could not have been happier in that moment. She had lost Senatla for a few months and been surprised to find that not only Senatla returned, but a handful of healthy, beautiful cubs.

Feeling rather weak at the moment, Kamaria lifted a paw to wipe her tears away. They were no longer tears of pain, but joy in the moment. She could not have been happier for her little sister. Nuzzling Senatla, Kamaria beamed with pride. "They are gorgeous.."

Senatla looked up to Kamaria, her violet eyes unable to express the full depth of her gratitude to her big sister. Had it not been for her, this whole experience would have been harder. While she didn't blame Kyp for leaving her, she had been sad until reuniting with Kamaria and Ten. They would ensure her cubs knew the full extent of a happy complete family. They accepted her and her cubs with open paws, and even though they maybe hybrid, she knew with her group, they would never know they were different.

Nuzzling her sister back, Senatla purred deeper and told her, "I couldn't have done this without you, sister. I am so glad to be home." While she'd say that a hundred times, the feeling was never anything but completely there. She had learned while she was away that home wasn't a place so much as it was a signal lioness and lion, they were home and where ever they were, she would be welcomed and safe. Looking down at her little bundles of joy, she said, "They are, each and everyone one of them, look one of them even has spots like yours." It delighted her to no end to see how much they resembled her whole little family.

Something did worry her a bit and she shared it with Kamaria, "They'll grow into big pawfulls in no time; I fear if we don't find a pride to join, they might be too much for the three of us to keep all six safe and fed." The rogue lands was a hard place to grow up, she knew that from experience. She had the edge of being completely off mother’s milk and knowing a bit about how to take care of herself, right now, these blind little wonders didn't have any of that.

The last born cub, slightly smaller than his siblings, lifted his little head blindly, mewling as one of his siblings moved and their heat left his side. Motsu head shook as he looked around blindly, crawling on his white belly, white dipped muzzle, pushing along the ground as he managed to find the warmth of his mother's hind legs. He crawled forward, probing blindly along her lower belly, crawling over one of his other siblings with a frantic mewl as he smelled something that excited him. Finally he felt a teat with his nose and opened his small mouth and latched on, kneading her belly around the teat as the hot delicious milk flowed into his mouth. He mewled and purred tugging on the teat hungrily.

With the coming of contractions Ten had dismissed himself quietly, not wanting to disturb the weary mother and her sister, he could not bear to see his good friend in pain and this seemed more like an intimate moment between two females than was his business. Time passed and the earthy red male walked slowly back towards the grassy area he had left them in. His crimson eyes locked on what he saw of Senalta and small things beside her. He was alarmed at the state of Kamaria as he approached seeing her tears not as a good thing but of something sorrowful.

"Is everything alright?" He whispered in a hushed tone looking at all of the newborns, 1, 2, 3...6 new lives in his family, my would he have some trouble keeping all of them straight, his concern did not disappear, he wanted to know why there was crying involved, when he was so happy to see so many.

Looking from Kamaria when she heard Aten's voice, she beamed with pride. Looking down at her little ones, she couldn't help but be so proud. Answering his question, she told him in a soft voice, "Everything is alright, we are just happy, thats all. Take a look; have you ever seen cuter cubs?" She was happy to show the litter off, all six of them.

There were worries for later about feeding and predators, for now the happy mother was in bliss.

Done with eating, Sewelo was all about blindly mewing. There was two new voices that he didn't know, and he was already curious. Fighting sleep, the tired newborn just mewed even when he was picked up by his mother and licked.

After he felt he'd taken a good fill, Kijani, being the brave warrior that his name suggested he was, wriggled free of the warmth of his mother and siblings, curiosity filling his mind. Though blind for the time being, the young newborn managed to get quite far (...actually just about a foot away, but..) until he started to whimper. He felt much, much colder now, and he mewed in complaint where he now lay, pawing out into the air.

So much for being a warrior...

His ears perked at the sounds of certain voices around him, and he mewed louder now, almost demanding help from someone, anyone around him. He hoped it'd be enough to get their attention.

Kamaria could tell by the way Senatla spoke and expressed herself that she could not have been happier. The lioness could only smile as she watched her younger sister care for the small kittens beneath her. When Senatla mentioned how one of them looked similar to Kamaria's spots, the lioness couldn't help but smile proudly. In the back of her mind, however, she was reminded that it was one thing that they shared with their father. While Kamaria would never speak of the male for fear of hurting Senatla, the older lioness was still furious.

The sound of Senatla's voice snapped Kam from her mental frustration and she listened on to what her sister had to say. With a quick nod, Kamaria was glad that Senatla felt the same way that she did. "I have hoped for a long while that we might find a home together, but I agree. It is even more important now that we have the cubs with us." Looking off towards the distance, the lioness smiled, "Do you remember the pride by the ocean? The shells? The sand?" And returning her gaze to Senatla, she looked hopeful, "Do you think the cubs would like it there?"

Before Kamaria could hear an answer, she spotted Ten approaching them. It seemed almost instantly that her smile brightened. "Ten! Come see them!" If the cubs appeared more like Kamaria, it might be confusing as to who they belonged to by the amount of joy Kamaria showed for them.

Senatla had watched her cub crawl off, very concerned. While she worked herself free from the bundles of cubs to go after him, she was also listening to Kamaria. The pride she remembered, well the area and their guardian. It seemed well protected, and from she remembered had a lot of cubs hidden away. As her son mewed loudly for attention, she left her other cubs for just a moment. Nosing Kijani very gently, she then gave him a warm lick of affection and picked him up gently by the neck scruff. With the beginnings of complaint already rising with the rest of her litter, the exhausted lioness was keen on getting back to them.

Lying down in the warm spot she just left, she placed the wayward cub back in with his siblings, closer to her front paws so she could keep a better handle on him. Following that, she licked and nuzzled each one in reassurance and a show of further love. Finally temporarily done, she turned to look at Kamaria again, "So long as they accept my cubs," she wouldn't say allowed why they might not be accepted, "Then I think they would be happy there as well. If Ten likes it too, then perhaps we should start walking and see about joining as soon as possible." Cubs grow quickly, and before they became worse of a pawfull, hungry and wild to explore, she would like to see them safe where more eyes watched out for them.[

The way her sister spoke to Ten about the cubs just made her all the happier, they were all truelly loving the little bundles and that was the greatest thing in the world. All six would grow up knowing such love and affection, what better cubhood could she provide for them? A safer one but they were working on that.

He stepped forward to them, and sat on the other side of Senalta looking over at Kamaria happily, nieces and nephews! He listened to the two females speak and nodded a long, "It will need to be soon, but for now you must rest, along with all of your cubs, they will grow soon my sister, too soon." His eyes flickered to the mass of them that had been attached to her and he poked a nose to one of them chuckling at it's reaction.

He had just really noticed that they were not quite lions, he had assumed they'd be lions..how could they be anything else? Perhaps he was just seeing things, but they looked more like leopards than lions.

"They're are lovely Senalta," he smiled and poked one of them gently with a toe, he'd never seen so many little things in his life.

Katsu was just settleing down with a warm full belly when the mass of his mother left. He nosed the air, his back end on top of one of his siblings. He began mewling worriedly, fearful because he couldn't find that source of warmth and food. His voice became a piercing whine before Senatla made it back and he crawled towards her, curling up against her side and nuzzling her belly, whimpering as he reassured himself that she was there.
