It had been nearing a month since both Senatla and Roho had vanished. While Kamaria kept faith that the two were well, she could not help but worry that they had left by their own choices. It dug at the lioness to know that two of her closest friends had disappeared and she was not even sure as to why.
When the nights came, Kamaria slinked away from Ten's company and found that her tears could not be ceased. She did not wish to bother him with her growing pain from the loss, but was clearly not herself. While it surprised the lioness, the loss hit her harder than the pain she felt when she was forced to see the truth of her mother.
The stiffness in his limbs often woke him in the middle of the night causing him to grit his teeth, and on just such one of those occasions the earthy red lion woke cringing in pain. "Ugh," he moaned softly and once he opened his eyes he noted his traveling companions absents.
"Kamaria?" He whispered and turned his head to look on the other side of him, no, no Kamaria. Please, he thought, don't let this be like when the other two disappeared. He stood gritting his teeth scenting the air and followed her scent.
Kamaria remained naive to Ten's wake. She did not hear his moan of pain and simply remained on her own, watching the night sky in hope. Were they wise to continue their search, or had they lost their friends in their travels? A tear slid down the lioness' muzzle at the thought of her little sister on her own. She could imagine the fear Senatla must have been facing. If anyone laid a paw on her they would suffer a wrath that Kamaria would be unable to control. She promised to protect them! Even in her absense, that promise was not broken!
At the sound of pawsteps nearing, Kamaria turned her head to witness Ten approaching. Shame took over as the lioness lifted a paw to quickly wipe at her eyes. How could she show them strength when she was so clearly fallen apart?
He saw her form and his heart began to pound in his chest, his feelings for her were strong, and the thought of her abandoning him caused him great fear. She was beautiful in the star light. His crimson orbs watched as she raised a paw and wiped her eyes.
"They will come back," he said quietly, and he finished the distance between them, the stiffness causing a slight limp in one of his legs, but he forced himself to use it normally, so she would not worry.
"It is alright to be sad..to cry."

Kamaria was not surprised that she had failed to hide her distress. Ten had been in her company for some time now and the two were growing to know one another fairly well. She only hoped that she could still remain strong for the two of them. While their group had no leader, she felt as though many of the others had looked to her for support. Especially Senatla.
At the sound of Ten's comforting words, more tears fell from the lioness' eyes. "B-but.. what if they meant to leave?" Her words were forced from her and it was clear that she was frightened. She had already lost so much and this additional loss was almost too much for the lioness to bare.

He stepped forward stiffly his crimson eyes locked to her weeping one. His heart pounded as he moved, he stopped once he was beside her. Inches apart and he ached to step closer, lean on her and tell her the world would be okay. The earthy red lion sighed, the world was never okay, not for him, and he blamed himself for her friends leaving, but if he told her that? She probably would not want him anymore. He summoned up the only thing he knew that could work as an answer, "Sometimes the gods pull us in directions we are not willing to go, perhaps they have been lead down a path that will lead to a better more fulfilled life? He offered and flashed a weak smile.
"If the world wills they'll be back, Kamaria." He brushed his shoulder gently against hers and pulled away quickly, not meaning to be so impulsive. "I'm umm..sorry.." he murmured and looked away.

While her appearance seemed as though she was still filled with anguish, every word Ten spoke comforted the weeping lioness. When he stepped forward, she failed to move away. She was in dire need of the male's comfort for more reasons than one. He excused their absense with reasoning involving the Gods and though Kamaria had never spoken of her curiousity of them out loud, she was satisfied with Ten's answer. The Gods were responsible for much in the world and she could only rely on them to keep her companions safe. It was their protection that she prayed for every night she had remained on the Bahari'moto beaches wounded. And when all had seemed lost, she prevailed.
Caught up in her own thoughts and fears, Kamaria was taken back by the nuzzle. Affection was not uncommon amongst the group, but the particular action by Ten had the female's fur on end. Filled with both curiosity and hope, the lioness looked the male over. Was it only her own meak feelings that were tricking her into believing that he meant something more?
Ten resisted the urge to press his form against her, he felt in turmoil, she was sad and he wanted to comfort her and did not want to press his own feelings onto her and make her more uncomfortable for now he needed to focus on her sadness, and find a way to cheer her up, he wanted her to be happy and excited, like he felt each morning when he saw her, like he wasn't being terrible, that he hadn't screwed up, but knowing she was sad made his feelings muddled.
"We'll find them, or they will come back to us, tell me the story of how you met Senalta and Roho? Tell me how you came to be here, maybe that'll cheer you up? Speaking of a happy moment?" He offered and hoped that would suffice in a way to over up his slip about touching her, she did not seem to pull away from it, but looked a bit shocked.
While she was still deep in her own sadness, Kamaria could feel something within her change. Had Ten intentionally come so close to her? The small lioness could feel her heart begin to race as she waited for the right words to leave her mouth. "W-well.." She began. And swallowing to wet her drying mouth, she continued, "Roho was the first to come across me when I was alone...He showed me kindness and would not let me remain on my own..."
Guilt suddenly filled Kamaria as her mind reverted to thoughts of Ten. Her mind was jumbled and her feelings mixed. Ten had been the greatest companion yet, remaining by her side through the most difficult emotions. He had only brought out the best in Kamaria. One of the most difficult things to swallow was the fact that she had been certain Roho cared for her more than he let on. For him to simply disappear... But had she ever returned those feelings? Now, when the male was gone, she couldn't get the larger red male from her mind.
Kamaria looked away and tried to push the male from her mind. "I met Senatla afterwards. She was scared and hard of trusting... She reminds me so much of myself..." Kamaria's voice dragged on.
"No young female should be alone in hard times, dear one," he mumured to her, "And Roho was kind to come along with you, purhaps he saw that you had two companions that will care for you, and found another in need of his help." He never thought tha Roho could possibly share the same feelings he felt for her, he as slowly realizing a deep love and need to make her safe and happy, if Roho had not realized this need then it was his loss that was all. Ten nodded along to her words and grinned,
"How does Senalta remind you of yourself? Did you fear others as she did? As I did? Were you running..like me?" His voice lowered to nearly a whisper as he mused out loud to her, had she been running from the same past he was? Certainly not, she was no firekin, but she reminded him so much of himself, so then was Senalta just like him. He tried very hard to blow the cloud of confusion and musings away, it was best just to focus on the beautiful silver grey lioness before him, and not on anthing of the past. He should not of asked if she was running, she did not as that of him.
Leaning onto Ten's side, Kamaria shut her eyes and released a breath. Her tears had dried and somehow the male's surplus of questions had begun to ease her mind. He was so eager to start conversation and it was clear in his attempts that he wished to direct her mind onto other thoughts. With her eyes still shut, Kamaria spoke, her voice in a whisper, "Senatla grew up in the roguelands, learning that others were not to be trusted. When she came across me, it almost seemed like a trick... I was much the same way after the attack."
And opening her eyes, Kamaria looked towards Ten. "My mother was a mistweaver. She brought me up on her own after the plague, but told me story after story of the pride. It was all that brought me hope and kept me alive after her death. I seeked out Gods for information and while it was incredible to meet them, it was I who needed to answer my questions on my own..." By Kamaria's expression, her story was clearly becoming harder for her to explain. "My mother left me with directions in order to find my home again. I felt as though it was all that would keep my bond with her since she was gone.. What I found, however, was not a home, but barren lands with violent r-rogues.." Purple eyes shot to her back legs which were the only proof of her long trip. Thick scars ran down her legs. They were healed, but the memories they inspired continued.
"Without my mother, my home.. I had nothing. After losing Roho and Senatla, all I have is you, Ten..."
Aten had never heard of these Mistweavers and was unaware that the plague had reached so far, he heard rumors about it but creatures were always reluctant to speak of their dead especially if they died unexpectedly. He was shocked though that their stories were so similar so much so that he did not even enjoy her being so near, he leaned against her and breathed her scent in as he listened, but did not fully feel her lost in his own thoughts. She had searched out her home and found violence as she had, the Firekin were awful, he wished she did not need to endure the same fates that he had, at least he was not harmed, the thought of her being attacked boiled the angry blood within him.
"I will never leave, do you understand that?" He put his paw to her chin and lifted her face to meet his, crimson eyes intense, "I care for you too much to allow you to be alone with nothing."
Kamaria did not know exactly what it was that Ten was running from, himself, but by the look that he gave her when she spoke, it appeared as though the two of them had much in common as well. Perhaps it was not coincidence that the four of them had met and perhaps, even though Senatla and Roho were gone, they would all have left impressions on one another for the better. Kamaria had learned so much from the others of her group and she was entirely thankful for their companionship.
Once her chin was lifted by Ten's large paw, the lioness felt her body become weak and her heart begin to race once again. Ten's words sunk into Kamaria and offered more to her than anything said prior.
Words seemed to little now to convey exactly what she was feeling. Ten had put down all his guards and Kamaria would need to do the same. She would need to trust him and while she wanted to so badly, in the back of her mind, she was still scared.
Leaning forward, the lioness began to purr quietly as she nuzzled Ten. Even without words, it was clear that Kamaria returned the same feelings.
Aten leaned into her and put his front leg around her his eyes firey with the passion behind them, he did not know exactly what caring for someone felt like until he met her, "No crying in the middle of the night, not with out you." He murmured and closed his eyes, the earthy lion feeling at home and at peace knowing that she at least had some sort of feeling for him, some sort of need for him as he needed her. He opened his eyes breifly looking down at her to speak again, "Do you want to sleep here, or back where we originally were sleeping?"
"Tomorrow will come, and it will be much better than this day, and the next day, because when you hit bottom like I have the only way to go is up," he had hit bottom and maybe another time he would explain his fears and apprehension for being around red lions, but for now it was best to reassure, and not to scare her.
Kamaria took comfort in Ten's form and shut her eyes as well. With him so close, she could feel the beating of his heart and was surprised when it seemed the two of their hearts were beating in unisen. It seemed to symbolise so much for the female and with a faint blush she simply smiled, finally feeling at peace for the first time in weeks.
When Ten spoke, Kamaria was reluctant to open her eyes and listen, so content as she was. "Oh..?" She said sleepily. The events earlier had certainly worn her out. "Here would be fine.." Before allowing her body to rest, the pale colored lioness lifted her head to offer one last search for their friends. "No luck today, but we will continue on with hopes of their return." Kamaria smiled to Ten and curled onto the ground, hoping to keep warm during the night.
Aten sighed heavily, he did not look to close into it, wanting to hear her heart beat, what he enjoyed was the smell and feel of her fur so close to his own, he wanted badly to just say he loved her, he had acted impulsively why couldn't he just go through it again. Listening to her soft words he too slunk down to sleep, close to her form, one side pressed close hers looking like an odd mesh of earth red and silvery grey. "Not today, tomorrow always comes," he whispered to her before finally closing his crimson eyes. This was another new start, and he had already gotten so many of those, as long as he tried very hard not to scare her away, like he felt he scared Roho and Senalta, then he would probably have a friend..no family for the rest of his life.
