Chiamaka blinked eyes open slowly, yawning and then getting up to stretch ... and glancing about. Mm... Ayo was gone, again. That was becoming the norm lately, she had noticed. But it didn't really bother her, since he always showed up again later at some point.

Not to mention the purple-coated lioness was getting older, and stronger ... more able to take care of herself even without the red male's help. Though she still welcomed his company.

Today, though, she didn't really want to sit around by herself and wait on him. So she abruptly decided that she was going hunting. Alone.

Maybe she could catch something impressive, and bring it back later to show him ... or she might even stay away for a night, see what he thought of that. She didn't even realize ... that what she was hoping for was more attention from the other...

But at any rate. Time to be going if she wanted to find anything.

And so, head held high and tail swishing, Chia headed out from the little oasis where they had been staying, ears pricked and alert for any sign of game.

So she didn't have a clue where she was nor what she was really doing. She was on a namequest and apparently it was something that they all had to deal with at some point or another. She was just wanding about trying to find inspiration or better yet her name. She was sure it would come to her at some point, at least maybe it would if she was lucky. She could hope right?

She hadn't been away from the swamps for long but it was long enough to not have a clue where she was or what she was doing. She missed being in the swamps. She wanted to be back at home where she knew the area and lands and could just mess about and be, well, herself. She missed it.

For now she wanted these lands, these strange strange lands that she had never seen before or really known much about. She just accepted that this was just going to be her life until she found her name even though she already hated it.

Instead, though, Chia found something else ... another lioness! And she looked to be the same age, too. Peering down at the other from atop a little hill, the purple adolescent pricked ears forward as her tail swished back and forth.

She hadn't really seen many other lions, especially since she'd been staying with Ayo, and the prospect of meeting someone new excited her.

"Heeey~!" she called out suddenly, then took off running down the hill, toward the other. It didn't even occur to her that maybe the other lioness might not be friendly, or want to meet anyone else. Everyone liked having friends, right?

Agua was a nice enough girl she didn't really have any problems with anything in life and the majority of the time she was happy to talk to anyone but today her mind was on this quest of hers and it really made no sense in her head. It annoyed her somewhat that she was suppose to find a name, maybe it was written in the clouds somewhere? She looked up at the sky and couldn't see any clouds. Clearly not that then.

At the sound of a voice she turned around, only to spot a rather oddly coloured female about her own age heading towards her. These lands did give you rather strange colours. She had noticed that already.

"Hello." She didn't say much else, she was a little weary. She hadn't ever met a rogue lion before.

Chiamaka grinned at the return greeting, only picking up speed as she headed down the hill. The young purple lioness was general very friendly, and hadn't really met up with much misfortune in her life, despite having gotten lost as a cub and growing up more or less on her own.

And especially since finding Ayo, her life had only gotten better. She didn't know much about frustration or worry...

"Hi!" she greeted again, skidding to a halt and tilting her head at the other lioness. "Where did you come from? D'you live around here?" After all, she'd never seen the other before ... so she was curious, and didn't really have any reservations about asking.

She was somewhat taken aback by the random questions. It was the last thing she had expected but wasn't all that bothered. She was happy to tell the other lioness where she came from, she hadn't been expecting the other lioness to be as forward as she was.

"I don't live around here, I come from a pride that lives in the swamps. It is a lovely place." She smiled softly and looked at the other lioness.

"Do you live here?"

(( Logging continuation over AIM... ))

Manda
"Oh, just back there a ways," Chia replied, shrugging one shoulder in the general direction of the oasis they were currently staying in. Her eyes went a bit large and round as she watched the other, tail swishing back and forth. "A pride? I've never even seen one, is it very big?"

She knew what prides were, Ayo had told her about them once...but she'd never before met any lions that were a part of one.

Remove
She nodded, her pride was rather large but at the same time it was hard to know just how big it was as many lions were out on name quests like she herself was.

"Yes it's rather big. I do love it and miss it so. Hopefully I shall be able to return soon." She just had to find her name though she still had no idea how she was going to find a name.

Manda
Ears flipped back at that, and Chia blinked at the other lioness, a bit confused. "You mean you didn't want to leave..?" she asked after a moment or two. "Or did you get lost, maybe...?" She didn't know where any swamps were around here, but surely if the other was lost, she could try to help her find them!

Remove
"Oh no of course I didn't want to leave and no I am not lost, well in a way I am but I can't go back yet. We all leave you see when we hit adolescent to go and find our names. Once we found them we go back and there is a ceremony. It's all rather lovely!" She smiled hoping the lioness wouldn't get her to explain it because she really wasn't sure what she was going herself let alone then explaining it to someone else.

Manda
But of course, Chiamaka was a rather curious sort of lioness, and so she blinked for a minute or two, and theeen the questions started. "You have to leave your home and your family?? To find your names? You mean you don't have a name already? That's weird!" And suddenly, she realized that might be rude. "I mean. Not... in a bad way, just... uh..."

Remove
The lioness just stared. "It's not weird, everyone does it." She couldn't see it being weird, she had grown up with the rest of the pride doing it so why would she know any better?

"It's nice, we get to explore a bit and then go back knowing new things!" At least thats what she had been told a few times though she was sure they were just trying to get her to go even though she didn't really want to.

Manda
"I ... didn't mean to be rude or anything, sorry!" Chia said quickly, ducking her head. Er. Speaking of being rude... "I'm Chiamaka by the way.. And I guess it just seems strange to me 'cause I've never heard of that before."

"That does sound interesting, though. But I don't know how you're supposed to find a name out here..."

Remove
She nodded, "I am Aguadamu most call me Agua though." She smiled softly. "You weren't rude, I just can't see how it's weird thats all."

She chuckled a little at the other lioness's statement.

"Oh its a self discovery thing I think. I will find it."

Manda
"Wait... wait, I thought you just said you had to find a name. But you have one already..? You're supposed to find a new one then?" she asked, now confused. It didn't make much sense to her, really. But she was sure that maybe some of the things she and Ayo did might not make sense to Agua either.

Remove
"We have one at birth like everyone, what else is everyone suppose to call us?" She chuckled imagining everyone being numbered or something.

"We now have to go and find our true name!" Agua was really bad at explaining these things.

Manda
"Oh! Uhm... ok.." Chia said at that, a little too quickly. Obviously, she was still confused, but ... well. If this was something that Agua was supposed to do for her pride, she couldn't really argue with it, now could she?

"D'you have any idea what yours might be? Or where it is?" she asked then, wondering if some name was supposed to pop up out of the air and announce itself somehow. She'd like to see that!

Remove
She shook her head. "Nope I am sure I will find it somewhere though. For now I am just wandering and learning about different places. That way I will have increased knowledge by the time it does pop up!" She sounded rather pleased with herself about all of that. After all, it did sound good!

Manda
"Ooh," Chia replied at that, nodding her head. It did sound good, and she was actually a little impressed by how knowledgeable Agua seemed to be already. Somehow, all the mystery surrounding this finding her true name...thing... made it seem important and profound. "Have you been around here long?" she asked then, head tilting. Maybe she could show her around! Introduce her to Ayo ... if he was back. Which he probably wasn't. Ugh.

Remove
She shook her head. "Nope only just got here and was only really passing through." She smiled again wondering what her plan was, she didn't really have one.

"I think I am going to move on tonight find somewhere else."

Manda
"Oh.." Chia replied to that, looking a little disappointed. They'd only just met! And she had been sort of hoping that maybe they could be friends, or something. But she understood that this finding a name was important to the other, too.

"Well, uhm. If you wanted to rest for a while, or anything, there's an oasis close to here. It's where I've been staying.." she offered, trying to be polite and almost hoping that Agua might stick around a little.

Agua smiled but she shook her head. "I would love to stay but I do need to move on. I would love to come back and find you though. I just want to find my name as quickly as I can!"

She smiled softly and turned to leave.

"I shall catch you about though and thanks!" With that she left. She was all too happy to get going again though she did like her new friend too!

Chiamaka stood up then and watched the other run off, lifting a paw to wave. "All right, good luck in finding your name!" she called, and then turned back toward home, herself ... wondering if Ayo might actually be around for once.
