Back-story: I just started the Pill about a week ago.
This morning my boyfriend was fingering me (not the first time) and it was slightly on the rough side. Afterwards I went to the bathroom and after I had used the facilities I noticed that there was blood in the toilet. Any kind of bleeding causes me a lot of concern, so needless to say I’m finding this very bothersome. I have no one else who could possibly be in this situation, so I kind of need some advice. Is it likely that it was just breakthrough bleeding? Or could it be related to the fingering?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated?

It could be either one. Breakthrough bleeding is not uncommon on the pill, especially in the first few months. However, it is also not uncommon for the v****a to get small rips and tears from being too dry or from fingernails.
Either way, it's probably not anything you have to worry too much about, but you should mention it to your ob-gyn. If you bleed heavily or for a long time, you might want to talk to her sooner rather than later. If you're having intercourse, you also might want to use condoms with your pill until you can talk to your ob-gyn since bleeding can sometimes mean you're not getting the right levels of hormones from your pill.

My GF used to have the same problem with me fingering her. my fingernails were too long and twice she started to bleed. all we did was trim my fingernails and the bleeding ended
