What top sekret thing has Silver been busting her a** on the past few weeks?!? You're ******** welcome, Anonymous. DC salutes you.

DC/AC - DC ANONYMOUS CONVENTION 2008

It is with great pride and the result of many weeks of hard work that DC would like to cordially invite you to the Anonymous Convention DC, 2008.

We regret to inform you that due to time constraints, we are forced to hold the convention in the same building as Church of Scientology's L. Ron Hubbard Birthday Celebration for members of the entire central east coast of the United States. Due to this we are forced to greatly limit our size to under 200 anons. RSVP at http://www.anonymousdc.com/forums/index.php?board=29.0 now to reserve your spot.

YOUTUBE WELCOME VIDEO

IRC: partyvan #anonycon

DC Anons will be hosting a convention for Anonymous on 3/22 from 4PM to 10PM. Activities include a rave and the CoS party next door.

The Chanology Code of Conduct still applies, no bullbaiting scilons or infiltrating their celebration. Our mere presence will drive them batshit insane. Let them come to us. Bad behavior will tarnish the reputation of Anonymous and result in EPIC FAILURE.

When: 4-10 PM March 22nd
Where: Wardman Park Marriott (use Woodley Park Metro)

Suggested Donation of $15 at the door
(plz this cost a fortune)

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Opening Ceremonies

Speakers and videos to be played at Opening Ceremonies TBA. Recap of events that have led up to AnonyCon and tales of Epic Win experienced since the Ides.

5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Booth Time/Fooding

Anons are reminded that hotel policy prohibits food in the conference room. Eat downstairs in the restaurants by the salons instead to freak the scilons. Also, enjoy our wonderful booths including the AnonyMeter, the Cult Reading Room, and a possible visit from the Mudkip Appreciation Society.

6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Why We Fight

Speakers TBA.

7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
AnonyRave

AnonyRave will be held at a reasonable volume so as not to disturb hotel patrons. Live musicians are also possible and will be scheduled accordingly.

9:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Anonies Award Ceremony and Closing Ceremonies

Anons are reminded to check their AnonyCon literature before the Anonies to see if they have been nominated.

ALSO POSSIBLE YET CURIOUSLY UNSCHEDULED:
Staged V vs DM match
Live MST3K/rifftrax presentation of Battlefield Earth (This will require a couple hours to account for movie running time and setup/takedown)

To set up a panel/booth contact SenatorXenu@gmail.com

Seats are limited, reserve yours today!

I already know I can't come, but this seems really well organized and everything. Kudos.

I just seems like something's going to go horribly wrong. I'm not sure why.

If I didn't live clear across the country in California I'd probably go.
Sounds fun, 'cause we can troll the Scis just by being a presence there haha.

I'd love to go to, but I'm in Michigan and don't have a job that pays good enough to let me make the road trip XD

Maybe it's being on 4chan too much, but I just think this level of Anon publicity...

Like a thread yesterday put it, we were hackers on steroids, something to be feared. When we were actually dDoSing the Co$, we had them paralyzed. They had no presence. Now what? They look at some people outside with signs for one day, and then life goes back to normal.

Not that the protests aren't effective, not that a convention might not be a good thing, but are we really just a bunch of pussies now? Anonymous is an organization since Chanology started. It never used to be an organization, it wasn't something you could be a member of. You either were Anonymous or you weren't. That was our greatest strength, you can't attack someone who is an entire collective. Now it seems we've fallen into a trap of our own making.

The protests are great. Chanology is great. But a lot of it betrays the roots, the soul of Anonymous. Half of 4chan is just going to raid the raids on March 15th, a lot of Anon doesn't even consider us part of it anymore.

What can we do? Do we need to completely separate Chanology from Anonymous? Are they simply incompatible? I'm not the one with the answers. All of you are. You have to tell me.

Warning: If push comes to shove, I am Anonymous. It doesn't matter to me where your loyalties lie, but mine will always lie with 4chan.

I believe if we want to get it done and expose the inner working sof the church, we can't stay sporadic and unorganized. how can a bunch of people that won't organize take down something as organized as a church? yes, we may be betraying the roots of Anonymous, but it doesn't mean its in a bad way. its human nature to adapt, and thats what Anonymous is doing, we're adapting to make ourselves better. to take down an organized corporate body, we must be organized. I hate to compare it to war, but its the only thing I can think of that will work. an organized army will 9 times out of 10 beat an unorganized one. we are the guerillas(sp?), and Co$ is the organized army. we are organized against and orginization, and we can win, but we must not revert to being just sporadic groups that have no real unification other than the internet. this convention and the protests are what we need, and I believe the rest of Anonymous needs to see that this is our best course of action, not something to condemn

What makes you think I'm not on target?

I hate the Co$ just as much as any of you, but I'm serious when I say that there will be Anons actively trying to ******** up our protests because they don't think we're Anonymous anymore. In fact, they think we're against the very core philosophy of Anonymous.

And I'm starting to think they're right. For the moment, however, I am firmly opposed to the Co$ and all it stands for, and will do anything to bring it down.

Actually, we do need more organization. I don't want us to be a bunch of idiots milling around with no sense of direction. But actually, less organized armies kick the s**t out of organized ones. I mean, look at the Revolutionary War.

While I see your point, I strongly feel that this is neither the best course of action nor one that meshes with the soul of Anonymous. However, I suppose what was meant to happen will happen. We shall see, my friend.

the Revolutionary War fits under what I said, the early Americans used guerilla warfare to beat the English. and it really says a lot about the rest of Anonymous if they're more worried about us not being part of them than they are about taking down the Co$, and the core philosophy of Anonymous has changed in my opinion. we used to be about doing things illegaly and just for laughs, where as now we're about seriously taking down the illegal activities of the Co$ in legal ways. I think we should all be happy we have other people that want to help, not bitching about whether we're part of the same group or not. wouldn't you rather have allies to help than fighting over whether they are the same as you?

The core of Anonymous is that YOU do what YOU do, I do what I do. Go ahead and do what you do. DC is going to have this event because that is the decision we came to. We found a significant CoS weakness and we moved on it. We're not your personal army and we don't take orders from any leader on how to operate.

No, you said we would be less effective as a guerrilla army. Also, it does say a lot about the rest of Anon. We're a confederation of apathetic jerks and trolls. This whole Chanology thing started because someone saw the Co$ and saw a ripe target for trolling. At the conception, none of us gave a s**t about helping people. You have taken to heart a nonexistent philosophy, and if you think Anonymous is a bunch of pussies who do things the legal way you are sorely mistaken. Anon is about destroying anyone and everyone who pisses Anon off, and you Chanology zealots sure as hell do.

Anon will never be about helping people. If it ever becomes about that, it will no longer be Anon, just a bunch of f*****t pussies calling themselves that. The real Anons will just go make another group and then destroy you all for daring to cross them.

However, it doesn't have to be that way. Anon still wants to troll the ******** out of the Co$, and it seems our goals are aligned, if not our motives. Conflict can and will be avoided if you simply realize that Anon is, was, and always will be a bunch of "bad guys" (by your standards, anyway). Otherwise, Chanology-Anon conflict will be inevitable. Don't be the one to let that happen.

@Silver: You've got me all wrong. I have not once told you not to have a Chanology convention. However, very few if any real Anonymous will attend. I do hope you fill up all 200 spots, though, and I wish you the very best of luck. Also, I never called you my personal army, and I never told you what to do. I simply alerted you to the potential consequences of your current course of action. I never claimed to be your leader, or even superior to you. In fact, your responses lead me to suspect that you are not actually reading anything I type.

I'm reading it, but all I see is Baaaaaaw. Get off your oldfag high horse and chill out. It's attitudes like this that throw us off target. When we finish with Chanology, we can go back to trolling each other (and the furries). If /b/ doesn't want to show, they don't have to, though to be fair, we are getting a large amount of support from the *chans. You're opinions are duly noted, thank you for speaking your mind. At least we don't fair game each other (unless it's funny).
