Dreamer NiGHTS
Hey all.
Within a couple of days I will be getting my frist Guitar, a Farida FTC8. I plan on learning rythem guitar as opposed to lead or Bass guitar, as it's the main thing that puts a key substance into rock.
I currently know little to nothing about playing guitar or music in general. I'm planning on starting off playing a few simple songs in a couple of books-on-CD to grasp the basics, and eventualy I want to start playing AC/DC songs.
But seeing as I know next to nothing, could anyone give me some advice/tips that will help me to learn rythem to songs once I've grasped the basics? Hell, if some of the basics were explained in plain english first here it would help alot.
Like I said, I plan on playing AC/DC songs and simular Hard Rock rythems. Something simple, yet VERY effective. Now I don't expect to be instantly rocking out like Malcome Young, but I belive I can get there without any major issues.
So any beginers advice that anyone can give would be brilliant. I can't wait to get my guitar and start playing so that some day soon I can just grab it and start rocking my heart out as much as I so desire.
Thanks in advance!

First off, learn your movable chords. The easiest would be the B5 chord. It's only two fingers and two strings, and can be played anywhere on the top three strings of the guitar. An example of where this chord is used would be "Blitzkrieg Bop" by The Ramones. (Good band to start with if you want to learn rythem guitar.)
Another easy one is the F#5 chord. Basically buy a chord book and figgure out what chords you can play and transition to and from easily. Most chord books tell you how to use and configure your chords to make a melody, but without basic understanding of terms and guitar theory it's still going to be difficult to understand. Just be sure to ask questions whenever you need help.
