I know I'm like totally gonna get flamed for this, but i stand by my theory, cause i think it's true.
reason #1:The only black character with more than a 1line role is pete, but he gets cancelled off the show, then all of the other black people either get killed, for example, that guy that shakes a lot. (i'm really sorry, i forgot his name)
2:also i've noticed that all of the asain people get killed. ('cept ofr lana, or howevewr you spell her name...she doesn't count) for example, the asain scientist guy who got killed because his coworkers turned on him, and killed him when they tried to rob the luther bank thing and Mrs. kent was held hostage....another example was the doctor of ...waahhh...i can't believe i forgot his name...uhhh...the guy who lana used to date that turned out to be a spy and was dying of some disease, so he had to inject himself with stuff.....his doctor was killed, by him becuase he got mad at her and killed her with a giant rubber band. and also there was the time when they were in china and their guide person got killed....for no reason i think. sweatdrop
3:i have yet to remember any latinos. sweatdrop
4:all the native american people have died, 'cept for the old dude, the girl that turned into a wolf died, and that guy who had superman powers, that's name i also forgot. sweatdrop
so....i've been thinking about this theory for a long time and if you find any flaws, or if i missed something, or if you want to flame m,e, feel free to comment. 3nodding

*claps hands in approval* I preach about this a lot because I am Vietnamese, and people think it is annoying. It is just truth.

This is going to come off as slightly pretentious, but I don't mean it to be...Have any of you actually been to a Kansas farming community? There isn't a lot of mixture in these old small towns to go around.........

i totally dont think that smallville is racist because jacen is right likein old farming communities like smallville is supposed to be there isnt much diversity...but there are extras in the like school scenes and the town scenes that are of different races so saying that smallville is racist isnt a fair thing to say i dont think...but that is just me thinking that(meaning no offense).

Actualy I havn't. I would think that there is diversity everywhere now a days. Well, I live in South East Texas, you can go into Houston and find all the racial diversity you want. But where I actually live, about 50 miles north in a farming area, there have just now started to be a little diverse...and by a little diverse I mean a few Latin people...still no blacks or anything else. In the mid west farming areas though, it's even less diverse than it is here. I couldn't put my finger on why, but have you noticed that most of the people of different races that are on Smallville, are all doctors or something from Metropolis or another city? Maybe people of other races are kind of nervous about those areas, given teh stereotype of the racist farmer who drags people from the back of his truck...

I live in Texas too. I am used to urban areas ok, and is it so bad to want some asian people on tv. You don't have to say all this to prove me wrong. There isn't a lot of diversity on Smallville. Fact. There should be more diversity on Smallville. Opinion. Ok, now leave me alone.

Um kristen Kruek is From Canada... I don';t think she counts. Pete was not the only person with more then one Line. There was Earl Jankins too. Im not trying to say that there isn't equal Divesity in Smallville, Its just there were not that many Black People and Asian People in The Superman Comics. You cannot Call Al Gough and Miles Miller Racist for trying to stay true to the Superman Legand.
People always have to complain about Racism. Can't we all just get along. Plus you have ot think of how hard it must be to find Actors of Nationalities such as those. I mean People May look white but that doesn't Mean they arn't from a family of certain color. I mean Look at Micheal jackson, he comes from an all black Family and he looks As white as a babies a**.... Even though he had some uh....Drug Issues, Some one can be indian and Not Look it. I mean You people need to Stop thinking about what is and isn't fair. Life isn't always fair and there are just some things we can't Stop. I don't think Calling smallville Racist is helping any. I mean They Don't make fun of any nationalities. So they have to take away and kill People, But White People get killed on the Show too.

Can we get along? Of course we can. The thing is, everything isn''t equal. America is full of diversity but you rarely ever see a display of it in the media. The superman comics were when Clark Kent was out of school and such, but smallville is different. It was set in high school, so shouldn''t there be more diverse people walking around? Even a walk on role could have been nice, but didn''t see any of that either. And Michael Jackson had that skin thing done to him so that is why he looks white.

SaberFireTiger I live in Texas too. I am used to urban areas ok,. Saber, Saber, friend...there is no need for the defense...I agree there should be more diversity. I find it really interesting that in no more than an hour drive from teh community in which I live, you can find all the racial diversity and multi-cultural expereinces you want. Yet here it's still moderately "not diverse". Personally, Ican't see how anyone stands living in the city.

Superboy Comics are what more Gough and Miller are going after. You have to understand that Smallville is not the only show like this. They have to get rid of the Small characters because they Aren't Main Characters. The main Characters are Well known Characters. They Can't make like Clark Black... No offense to Black people but we all know Clark as a Strong White boy from Kansas. I mean We could go on about this forever and ever and it comes to the Bottom line: if yu have such a problem with Diversity issues of the show then don't watch it. I mean yeah its an important Issue to disscuss but what are we soppose to do about it? Changing one show isn't going to stop racial Issues every where. I am Not a Racist, I just think that WHat ever we say in here is just going to make some people start liking smallville Less because of things they never noticed before.

I don't think you should be offended. Because i mean you don't only see racial issues on smallville look around you i know where i live it is mostly "White people" but not to far from here its mostly "Black people" Its just society. And I mean like i said you can't blame Miles and al For trying to base the Characters off of what they were soppose to look like in the Comics...although Lana was soppose to have red hair... But when Superman was made in 1938 black people were not That, I hate to say it but...Important, People looked down on then... You can't blame smallvile though for these issues
