Yachiru was fidgeting with her hands as she and Litrual sat in the usually cramped corner of the Dentists, having managed to vacate the little waiting room with in seconds of entering it, partly due to Litrual’s appearance and partly due to the fact that as soon as she had managed to get hold of one poor little girls doll he had torn the head off of it, and no matter what Yachiru had said to the other people waiting they had gone to the front desk and asked her for a different appointment time. Litrual was now sitting calming on a chair peacefully colouring in a picture of a snake, It was Yachiru who was nervous as she hated dentists almost as much as she hated doctors, but Litrual teeth seemed to be unbreakable as he had managed to bite through almost all of her belonging’s and yet he seemed to express pain when eating an ice-cream, wondering what could be wrong with him it was her last resort to take him to the dentists.
At first Litrual had been bemused when Yachiru had taken him into this strange place that smelled like fear, it was a most pleasent smell. They way people had avoided him made him smile. And now his 'gardian' seemed to be giving of an aura of something that resembled hatered, one which he had never felt come off of her, it made him want to relax and he had found colouring way the best way to do this. Leaning slightly againt Yachiru's sire he had selected a picture which resembled Duck and had begun to colour it as apropreate.

Doo dee doo. Find a quick job, make some quick money. Earn enough to eat tonight, la la la.
Such were the singsong thoughts floating through Leraje's head as he pushed open the door to the dentist's office, Ferox prancing irritatingly close around his ankles. He wasn't here for a dentist appointment, oh no. Leraje's teeth were always lovely, and Ferox's teeth had to be good enough. Emphasis on had to be. There was no way he could ever afford a visit to any medical practice of any sort.
Buuuuut, this place was usually nice enough for a quick job and some quicker cash. Take out the garbage, deliver the mail... little things. The tasks were irregular and the pay even more irregular, but hey. Low work, and it often got him enough money to pay off the tab du jour. Worth looking into, at least.
The receptionist was a young woman he recognized by sight, but couldn't quite name. Karen? Katie? Something with a K.
"Hey," he said with a grin, approaching and leaning on the desk. "What's up?"
"Lera!" The receptionist exclaimed in pleased delight. "What're you doing here?"
"Usual. You got any odd jobs for me? Trying to salvage up some food for me and my kid."
The girl gave a puzzled look, peering over the desk. When she saw Ferox, her expression became the oh-so-typical 'what the s**t?' expression most people gave when seeing Ferox. "Is he--?"
"Not mine. Well, kinda. Some bizarre science group is paying me to raise him." He shrugged.
The receptionist smiled. "Aw. how sweet."
"I know. I am the pinnacle of all that is good and humanitarian. So, got any jobs?"
Ferox, meanwhile, had wandered off, bored by the boring adult conversation that his daddy and the lady were doing. Grownup talk was boring. Maybe--hey! Spotting Yachiru and Litural, he wandered curiously over. Yachiru was mostly ignored, but Litural... interesting.
When he was within a few steps of the pair, he stopped, straightened so that he was on only his back legs, and stared openly at Litural. Then, in his most serious voice, he stated-- "You look funny."
Leraje let out a snort of stifled laughter at that. As if Ferox had any room to talk!
