A place of apparent neutrality between the two forces, though there have been occasions when groups will violate this unspoken term and wait in ambush. Stuck in the middle of a searing, cruel desert, this Oasis is the largest one found up to date, and is a life savor for all those dare venture in this direction. Fruit trees of all kinds are scattered around the pure, clean waters, and the temperature here is notably much cooler than in the rest of the desert. ( desc: by Tsunake )

((If I'm doing something wrong by posting here, let me know and I'll delete the post. (Or if the mule beats me to deleting it, then... yay?) And if this be the case, I'm sorry!)) "Ugh, when are we ever going to get there!?" Tsuzume ranted at Raya, new shield liger. She'd been travelling through the desert long enough, though she had to admit she enjoyed it. The gentle up-and-down motion of the liger running had always been something she'd enjoyed about a zoid. She'd figured out the navigational system and the ins-and-outs of the AI. She was beginning to feel quite confident in herself. She'd gotten a few days off from her new work to figure things out, and now she felt confident.
She was happy to see that the little red dot that indicated her and the shield liger were nearing the oasis, her destination. She'd heard it was rather nice, and could quite go for the clean water and cool scenery that was supposed to surround the place. She approached it, slowing down Raya's speed as she prepared to hop out. Even from the orange-tinted cockpit of her liger, she could tell that the oasis was cool, and that the water was clear.
She quickly hopped out, canteen in hand and started to fill it up, wondering to herself if Raya ever got hot. Luckily, it was cooler here. She checked out the area after filling her canteen to get a scope of the place...

"Do this, he says! Break into that Zoid component, he demands! Fix this AI unit, orders! Neh neh nee nah!" Ryn ranted out the orders he had been given back at camp to no one in particular in a slightly mocking tone. Irritated to the extreme by the endless rants given from those higher in rank, the young rouge had fled from the campsite for the time being. Now, slouching down slightly in the seat, Ryn was enjoying the passing desert view through the orange-tinted window of the Liger's cockpit.
Xyn, his thunderous footsteps muffled by the soft sands, continued at a brisk trot towards a pre-set destination. He rumbled softly as his human tried to slouch further down into the seat, a string of data on a small screen expressioning slight concern (If someone would call it that) towards the flesh and blood being.
"Nah, I'm fine buddy." Straightening, he grinned and pointed at himself with his thumb. "Im invincable! None shall thrash the mightness of Ryn Gunnar!" A sounf that could only be described as a type of zoid laugh was heard as Ryn shifted Xyn from auto to manuel pilot. Squeezing the controls, Ryn thrust them forward to increase their speed. The Oasis was their destination! So, why not hit the gas pedal? Roaring, Xyn instantly took off at a high speed while Ryn whooped and yelled in excitement.

Tsuzume swiveled around at a sound that not even the desert sands could completely muffle. At least, not at that speed. A red liger, coming at the oasis quick! Raya's AI gave a soft rumble as if to inform her of the approaching zoid.
"I know, I know," she said impatiently as she tied the canteen back at her hip and perched herself on a claw of the liger. She watched to see who would pop out of that hatch when it arrived here, hoping it wouldn't be someone coming to tell her that she had work to do.

Reaching the Oasis shore, Ryn was about to jump over the water (don't ask why, he's crazy like that.) when a dark-blue zoid and a shadowy figure came into view....Right in the middle of their way?!
HOLY SNAP!
Yanking the pilot controls back and slamming down on the brakes, Xyn heaved a powerful roar and dug his claws into the sands. Skidding a few feet, Xyn managed to stop just a few yards from were the other were standing....unfortunately, that didn't stop a cloud of sand from being whipped up by the sudden stop.
As Xyn opened the cockpit, Ryn pulled off the harness and popped out; he coughed and waved his hand in a sour attempt to push away the dust and sand cloud before glancing over at the other occupying the Oasis. "Uh....HIYA!" He grinned and did a kinda meek wave towards the others. "Sorry about that, just kinda...got lost in the rush of the moment on my way here."

From the looks of it, it wasn't anyone from the republican military to tell her to get back to work, for which she was grateful. Only momentarily, though. "They're... Not going to hit us, are they?" She asked the liger, as if it would respond in time. "We don't even have any definite markings of our military and besides, there's no war going on and the oasis is a neutral area, right?" She asked Raya, who gave no response in time. (Or if there was one, it wasn't audible over the sound of the other liger stopping.)
She watched as its claws dug in and closed her eyes, anticipating the dust cloud that was sure to follow. She hid behind the liger's leg, which gave a sufficient amount of protection against getting pelted with sand, but where she had bare skin did get some pain. She pulled her shirt up to cover her mouth, so as to not breath in sand, and hopped down off of the claw of her liger.
"Hi," She said, pulling into view of the newcomer. "Understandable. I'm just glad you didn't hit us!" She couldn't really see the guy's face until the dust settled, which it had began to do, fortunately.

Ryn eyed the blue Shield liger with interest, his attention split between that and the girl that had taken shelter behind it's leg. Smirking slightly, Ryn leaned against the edge of Xyn's cockpit and looked down at the other perched on the foot of her zoid.
"Do you think I honestly wanna hit someone? I think being squished by Xyn here....." He patted the zoid's armor, casuing the AI to growl and toss his head lightly. "That would cause ya to earn a couple of bruises, no?"
Grunting, the rogue pulled himself to sit on the edge of the cockpit. He didn't jump down though, not until he knew for sure where this persons' loyalties lied....and if she knew his face or not from the business he did.

Tsuzume looked back at her liger for a moment then headed towards a back paw of her liger. (It was facing the water, after all,) "Yeah, well, I'm pretty sure that those would be a few bruises I don't need." She said with a chuckle. The dust cleared enough for her to pull her face out from the inside of her shirt. "So I guess I'm in your thanks! My name's Tsuzume," she yelled up to the teen atop the red liger. She figured her last name was need-to-know information and left it out.

"Tsuzume? Huh, interesting name ya got yerself."
Bracing himself, Ryn jumped and landed on the soft sands below with his trenchcoat flaring out all spiffy-like and in a perfect poise....thought the charley horse in his leg that was to come kinda knocked off some points from his landing score.
Straightening and brushing away the dirt clinging to his shirt and treachcoat, Ryn walked towards the girl with his hand held out. "Names' Ryn, pleasure is all mine." Reaching up with his free hand, he brushed away the bangs clinging to his face while eyeing the oasis behind the blue Zoid. "So? What's a gal like you doing in the desert? Kinda suspicious if you ask me."

She watched the pilot hop down off of his zoid with such ease. She wasn't that skilled at it yet, but she could at least get out without breaking anything. "Heh, well, it's what you get when you come from a small village. I like it though, there's no other Tsuzume's," she said, shaking his hand. She pulled it back, one hand going to tuck her hair behind her ear, the other going for her canteen- she was thirsty already.
She guzzled a little drink before responding with a smug look. "It's not so odd to come across another pilot in the desert, is it? I'm just out here getting the finishing touches on my piloting skills, so to speak. I've been a little rough around the edges so I got a few days off to practice, and what better place than the flat, open desert?" She asked with a smile. Certainly, in her mind, there could be no argument against the desert for a training spot. After all, there were all the resources she would need right nearby, a base and an oasis, and plenty of open land. She wasn't really on official business, and her answer was vague enough that it couldn't possibly be dangerous for Ryn to know.

Ryn cocked an eyebrow at the gals' answer before wandering over to the Oasis pool and crouching down to take a handful of water for himself. Swallowing the water, he wiped his mouth the back of his hand before flopping down onto the sands beneath him and looking up at the sky. "Well, I guess that does make sense....I come from a fairly decent-myself (He wouldn't have called the campsite a village) so strange names are common."
Turning his head towards Tsuzume, Ryn nodded at her explaination of being out in the middle of nowhere. "New Zoid, I take it?" He pointed at the Dark-Blue shield Liger with a wide smile. "That's one of Doc Richards' models, isn't it? That guys makes pretty spiffy Zoids." Not to mention how much they were valued by other pilots and mech people....of course, she didn't need to know that detail. "Xyn is of the same model, though he might be slightly different than yours is." A soft snort of laughter. "That is...minus the spiffy paint job I gave him when I first got him a while ago."

"Yeah, it is new. I love it though," she added with a little smile before turning back to it. "It's really a blast to drive around." She turned back to Ryn when he mentioned the maker of the lovely zoid.
"Yeah, it's one of his models. Really high quality, if you ask me." She said honestly. She hadn't really been in battle with it, but she was growing fond of it and it seemed to be a very well-made zoid.
Tsuzume eyed Xyn, their structures were very much the same. The crimson shield liger contrasted her own blue. "Well, at least a personalized paint job is unique!" She said with a chuckle.

"Yeah, the Doc does make some pretty neat-o zoids. I heard a buncha people saying that if it weren't for the fact that some of them were built so well....they would never have made it back to city after battles."
Walking back towards his zoid, Ryn jumped up and plopped himself down on the Liger's paw. He rubbing his hand against the black painted metal of the leg, rubbing his fingers together as flakes of the sun-resistant paint started to peel off.
"HEY! At least he's not all....ya know, "perfect" as those government models." A sour expression came onto his face at the thought of the government before it faded away. "Besides, it says who I am! How......" He waved a hand in the air, looking for the right word. "AWESOME! How awesome I am."

Tsuzume didn't miss that expression at the mention of government models. That gave away his allegiance, not that it made much of a difference to her. She was off duty, and so long as someone wasn't a threat to her, she could consider them a friend. Even if she had been on duty, there weren't many rogues that she needed to hate, certainly not him. Bottom line: You do your thing, I'll do mine, and we can coexist: Tsuzume's philosophy.
She was glad to have a model claimed to have saved lives, though she hoped she'd never need it. She looked up at Raya's head for a moment, then turned back. Perhaps one day, the build of this shield liger would save her life too.
She watched him head back to his zoid and flop on its foot, she followed, but only to the extent of her liger's hind leg, at which point she leaned on the back of it.
"Yes, the paint job on it does scream awesome," She said. It may have been a bit sloppy, but in an odd way, it seemed highly fitting for the guy before her. "It suits you." She said with a nod, then turning her vision up to Xyn's face. "I'm sure it suits Xyn too."

Ryn laughed out loud at her words as the memory came flooding back. Ah...the days of when they first met! The headaches and injuries that came with it. "It suits him now, but when I first....eh....recieved him...well..." Leaning back, he flashed a grin at Tsuzume as Xyn's paw shifted underneath him. "Xyn didn't exactly like me attacking his armor with cans of spray paint. Also, add the fact that I tried to get buddy-buddy with him right afterwards and....yeah." If one could, Ryn would have sweatdropped right then and there. "Let's just say I learned about ejection from the cockpit fairly early."
"What about you, Tsunami? How do you and yer metallic friend there get along?" No more questions about him, more about his companion. Maybe he could get some info about her. If she with the government (as much as he disliked many of those prissies in steamed uniforms) if she was with them...well, he could over look that. You do your thing, I do my thing, hopefully we don't cross in a fight (except for a friendly spar), and we can live together.
