Kiongozi was not sure quite how she had gotten herself into this mess, but then who was she to argue with a goddess? She quite enjoyed the idea of a goddess being in debt to her, even though she'd not been promised anything directly. Kiongozi was the type of bird not to want to help unless there was something in it for her, usually. Kunda was one of the rare exceptions, though he was very often given advice that also gave her some kind of advantage. She simply was going off faith here, as she led the way through the sky. Imagine her surprise when a passing winged-lion asked for her help, and described a very familiar lioness. Smartly, the honeyguide had refused to promise she had seen the right lioness but was willing to take the goddess in the direction she'd seen her in.
One positive, if nothing came out of this, Kiongozi would not have made a goddess angry (always a plus) and the fact that this creature had wings made things go much, much quicker!
"This way!" she called shrilly back to her follower. What luck! Finally Mtima'safi had found someone who could say that they'd seen Amadet, or someone similar, and actually could lead her in the right direction instead of pointing vaguely. Flying through the sky, she was feeling very optimistic, and now she would be able to have a chat with Amadet, the scorned princess. Hopefully whatever it was that she'd wanted to talk could be cleared up, if she felt the need to share her desire to find the goddess with Boma'burudi.
"I'm here," the goddess called back, sailing after the bird.

The avian kept her keen red eyes open for any sign of the lioness. This trip was not as easy as she had hoped, but of course you could not expect a lioness to stay in one place too long. It wasn't the middle of the night, after all! No, it was late afternoon- and the bird felt very lucky to be flying in the direction opposite the sun. That would have impeded the whole process, and then they would have had to wait until night- or the next day- and then that might have been too late to find her so easily.
Swerving to the side to take a look in a different direction, she deviated from the path she'd originally set out in hopes of covering more ground. "I'll go this way, and call if I spot 'er!" she explained.
Mtima'safi also kept her eyes open, though she was relying very much on the avian being trustworthy. She couldn't imagine anything wrong Kiogozi could do, she could see a good deal about the honeyguide bird. She wasn't a bad soul, a touch greedy but that was easily handled with the promise of some reward later. Mtima would be able to find her again, she would find some fitting way to thank her newfound, small friend.
"Ok," she nodded, though she did not speak too loudly. It wouldn't be too hard for the bird to spot her again, if she spotted Amadet- and Kiongozi need not know immediately if the lioness was found. So the goddess too headed off opposite the avian to broaden the search.

It had seemed like ages ago that Amadet had left her children behind with a virtual stranger, in the care of a pride in full trust that he could handle it while she was off doing her own thing. She'd had no luck finding the goddess, but her resolve was just as strong as it had been. She was too far into this to give up, she could see her cubs when this was through- she was already formulating a story, which basically was an expansion on the story she had told Gharadi. They would forgive her, she'd gotten away with this much after all!
She wasn't too attentive to the sky above her, not noticing anything that was above her at all, in fact. Amadet was mostly focused on the ground, for now. She wasn't exactly looking for Mtima this afternoon, now she was hunting for something to eat. She might have a goal, but she still had to eat.

Kiongozi circled lazily in the air to double check that she wasn't missing anything. And as she was about to head back along the straight back something brown and moving amongst the green of the grass caught her gaze. Clicking her beak, she did a sharp turn that caused a slight drop but she caught herself well enough. Circling once to verify she'd found who she was looking for- and hopefully who Mtima was looking for- Kiongozi turned around to get the goddess' attention.
"I found her!" she called, chirping shrilly in the way she often did to keep Kunda's attention. She zoomed off, looking for the goddess and spotting the bright yellow spot in the sky not too far off. Flying off towards her, she continued to call to get her attention.
The goddess was not having any luck herself, but she was attentive enough to hear the shrill calling of Kiongozi. She turned around immediately, figuring that unless something was wrong then she must have found the lioness she hoped to point out. With a smile, the goddess flew towards the honeyguide bird.
"You've found her then, Kiongozi," she commented cheerfully, "Show me." Even with Kiongozi to point her in the right way, Mtima looked around in hopes of seeing Amadet for herself. She probably would not know for sure until she saw the marking on her side and spoke to her, but she could still look.

Amadet, being quiet and especially attentive to her surroundings, was startled by the sudden shrill call of the honeyguide bird above her. She had no idea the words were spoken, but she followed the squawking creature through the sky for a moment. She glanced around to make sure it was not fleeing from anything in particular, and seeing nothing she glanced back to see where it went.
"Huh?" she blinked, spying something very colorful suddenly with it. The lioness squinted, immediately realizing that it was a goddess- and from what she knew of Wahabu and her cubs.. it was very likely that this was the exact goddess she was looking for. Smiling smugly, she stood tall and watched the flying pair.

Kiongozi nodded brightly and turned back around to lead the way, though she was sure the goddess would spot their target without her help. She wasn't even surprised to see the lioness had spotted her, the point of her calling was to be noticed and it didn't matter. Worst case scenario they would stop and chat with her, and Kiongozi would be forced to apologize for the bad lead. Deciding to be safe, she descended and safely took a spot in the grass some distance, a smug look on her face.
Mtima'safi followed Kiongozi's lead and descended once she spotted the lioness from the sky. She was her usual friendly, optimistic self, reserving any slight changes to her attitude until she got a good look at who she was about the talk to. Landing with a light 'thump', she stepped cautiously closer to the lioness.
"Amadet?" she asked, stopping once she had a good view. What she saw was not terribly impressive, but it was not entirely bad either. There was a lot of conflict, determination and resentment. It worried the goddess almost immediately when she realized this very well could be Amadet, though she didn't yet have a good look at her side or verbal verification.

Amadet watched as the annoying and loud bird landed nearby, but her main focus was definitely the yellow goddess. She almost felt numb, having been looking for so long and finally finding the goddess. But now was not a time to lose her nerve, she was in too far for that- she didn't even imagine the negative consequences this could have for her, she was here to prove a point and make a getaway.
"Mtima'safi," she answered smugly, verifying who she was with that one simple name. Amadet did not even clue into the fact that the goddess had found her and not the other way around, her mind was elsewhere.

The small avian ruffled her feathers up importantly as she realized very quickly that she had indeed found who the goddess was looking for. She was proud, and now somewhat excited- but most of all she was curious about what was about to happen, finding it somewhat odd to know that a goddess was looking for someone that she wasn't entirely sure she knew the appearance of. But that didn't matter much now, and Kiongozi was sure that she was now forgotten for the most part. She had the perfect opportunity to sit in and watch.
"So I've finally found you," Mtima commented, though her friendly smile faded slightly at the very smug look on Amadet's face. She knew this was going to be interesting, Amadet was a former-princess to a pride that she and her brothers had been patrons too. She was not likely to be too pleased with the deities, especially if she knew the hand they had played in her poor reception as an alternate heir to the throne.
"I learned you were looking for me, quite some time ago now," she said pointedly, explaining her reasons for showing up out of the blue very simply. Now she did her very best to smile assuringly, "A dear friend informed me, said you sounded very much like you wished to see me- that you thought I had died." The goddess prodded into the situation carefully, wondering if what Boma had perceived was true now that she saw the girl for herself. Boma had suggested she might be angry or that she might be resentful, if she blamed Mtima as she should blame the others, then it was an almost certainty.

Kiongozi was very right, at least about Amadet. She wasn't even paying any attention to the bird now, she was focused on the goddess she'd been searching out for so long, the goddess she'd dared to take a personal jab at by tricking her son. Her babies were beautiful, and undoubtedly better than Amoret had ever been- they were sweet and had royal and divine blood, how the pride would have been so delighted. But the pride was not around to share her joy, to make up for their cruelty to her- however the goddess would know, she would know that Amadet could be just as good as Amoret. She could make herself important instead of looking the part and not acting it.
"I did go looking for you in the Pridelands, but I didn't find you," she said, still sounding and looking as important as she felt.
( I fail at explaining how Amadet is supposed to think about this whole situation, her logic isn't supposed to make much sense to anyone but her so it's all good xwx )

Smartly, Kiongozi stayed quiet as she watched- even keeping her opinion of things to herself. At least until she knew the whole story. This Amadet-lion didn't seem like she was very nice, there was something strange about her expression. Kiongozi was rather observant when she tried, and she didn't think that Amadet had been looking for Mtima'safi for any good reasons though the goddess had seemed perfectly friendly about this. Her red eyes shifted to the goddess curiously.
Mtima had not forgotten about Kiongozi entirely, but her attention was now undivided and on the brown lioness before them. The smug look on her face was unnerving, and her emphasis on the word 'you' made it that much worse. There was no one else to find in the Pridelands that could easily be acknowledged as connected to her other than Wahabu. Habu had said he'd never met a lioness named Amadet before, Mtima was inclinded to believe him.
"Who did you find?" she asked carefully, not smiling any longer- but not quite frowning yet.

Amadet's smile did not fade as Mtima's did, she was actually much happier to see the almost worried look on the goddess. Worried, at least, in that she dared not to smile now. This was supposed to be the fun part, the part she enjoyed. Taunting the goddess, making her realize how her and the other two had brought her to.
"Wahabu," she answered simply, drawing up slightly more at this word.

Clueless as to the meaning of the words, but catching on that it was meant to bother the goddess, Kiongozi resigned herself to simply watching silently from the side lines. She hopped back to keep her distance and to try to keep the two lions in her view at the same time.
Wahabu definitely was a weak spot of the goddess, and anyone who knew a great deal about her would certainly be aware of this fact. However, Mtima had no idea why Amadet would be so interested in him- and why Habu would have denied ever meeting her if she really had met him. With a snort, she raised an eyebrow.
"Did you now?" she asked, "He never mentioned you, even when asked directly." It was almost accusing, daring her to prove that she had in fact run into her son. There was no point denying he was her son, he looked too much like her and it would be too much of a coincidence if she hadn't really known it.

"He doesn't remember?" she asked with mock disappointment, not at all sounding like she was kidding about it being the truth. And why should she? She had proof she had .. visited him, the cubs looked quite a bit like their mother but there were undeniable similarities to the goddess and their father. "That's too bad, I remember him."
Amadet was getting to her point, but she was taking her time and enjoying herself.
"I suppose the poor boy was rather tired that night," she nodded, as if speaking to herself now.

Mtima stood still, staring at the lioness and trying to determine how truthful she was being. It never hurt to be skeptical, especially since Amadet was clearly trying to grate her nerves about this for some reason. She recalled what Habu had said about his dreams, how he had been in poor shape for awhile there- lost a lot of sleep.. it could match up with what Amadet was saying. It very well could.
"What proof have you?" she asked, "Why is this relevant? Why were you looking for me?"

Mtima had no way of knowing, but this was going exactly as Amadet wanted it to. The goddess did not look pleased, she asked why she had been sought out- and now was the ex-princess's turn to tell the goddess off, to tell her exactly how she felt. And then to inform her of how she had made things right.
"I thought you were dead, I thought you were all dead," Amadet started off, deciding to start at Mtima's last question first, "Amoret was so special just because she got all of those markings, the only one to have all of them- and I had none, not even ones directly in the family. I don't know what you did, but because of you- because no one wanted me, because you abandoned us.."
She was rambling, but she was sure she was getting her point across. Mtima'safi would understand, there was no way she couldn't. Amadet always blamed the gods for her sister's fortune and her own misfortune, her parents had always said Amoret was blessed, that they were blessed..
"I have proof, because I've made things right," she continued, "I've taken what respect and importance should have been given to me, something more precious than the silly markings the we valued so much. With Wahabu's help."
