Shetani stared down at the three nearly blinding cubs currently suckling off her stomach. Annoying little buggers. She glowered at their forms, feeling more relief that they were now outside of her body than any form of motherly affection for the blighters. The still-young female was quite convinced she'd never again go through this, it wasn't worth it and it was utterly rank, in every sense of the word. Shetani lowered her head and nudged one of the nearest cubs. At least there were only three.
The past few moonturns had been more than a little uneasy for both she and Niruzu. Oh, she'd had some fun with it--annoying the piss out of him both on purpose and entirely against her will--but that didn't really make up for the fact that she'd gotten fat and hadn't been able to hunt well for herself. Nor the fact that the actual birth had hurt like nothing else in her life. Damned little things had better be grateful for what she'd given them. The girl snorted.
"Ye kin c** h'in nao," She told the lion that, if he knew what was good for him, was waiting on the other side of the waterfall outside the den. "their" home now, whether he liked it or not. Oh, he was likely sulking... but when did he ever do anything else? He could at least have the decency to sulk somewhere where watching his misery might cheer her up a little.

Oh, the months that Shetani had been pregnant had certainly not been a damn walk in the park for him. Oh no. He'd had to hunt, had to cater to her every stinking whim, and he was sure that most of the things she had made him do she could have done herself. Oh, he knew she liked to torture him and he was sure she had done her best job of making life hell for him. Sure, getting fat wasn't exactly fun he was sure, but that didn't mean she needed to take it all out on him. It took two to play their game and the ninny was acting like he did it all by himself. It made his tail lash right now just to bloody think about it. She'd invaded his space, taken it as her own, and thought it gave her the right to be moody with him whenever she felt like it. He'd have given her a piece of his mind if he hadn't felt so damn guilty - and frightened of her father, to boot.
"Oh, I can come in now? Aren't you gracious, letting me into my own cave," he muttered under his breath, probably not loud enough that she'd actually hear him. He moved to pick up the fat rabbit carcass, pulling it into the den with him as he went. Hell, at least he was nice enough to think about whether or not she'd be hungry after the whole ordeal. He could have just left the brat to freaking starve.
He set it down, peering at the little blobs of fur that had curled up at her side. He took a seat, not too close, but not too far. His head tilted as he eyed them, jaw set a little tightly. Well, there was no denying the little twerps - they were obviously his. He let his tail flicker behind him, leaning slightly to look at the things closer. "Well, there's only three. Not too bad, I guess." Hell, he'd have been happy if there'd only been one. Well, as long as he was thinking about what would make him happy, he might as well just admit he'd be happy if they never were at all.

She'd been avoiding him.
There was no doubt about it. It'd taken Moo quite a while to come to terms with the fact his daughter WAS, indeed, avoiding, but after he'd noticed her absence for a few days, which then turned to weeks, it was quite unsettling. He was used to letting her do as she wished; the jungles were large, and barely held any sort of danger to a lioness, really, aside perhaps a rogue. Despite this, the large black male was quite comfortable in the notion Shetani could take care of herself well enough, and no rogue, smart as they may be, could ever harm her. The girl was quite the rascal.
Still, she was avoiding him, and it was starting to annoy him.
So thus, that very morning, Tsu d'Imoo had decided that enough was enough; he'd come out of the random den he'd been using and padded out onto the foliage, following his daughter's distinct scent. It'd always been there, but he'd never bothered to follow it; he'd always figured she'd come whenever she needed to.
This was how the lion stumbled across the large waterfall; both his daughter's scent and that of the male he'd still to meet were in the air, yet somewhat hidden by the rushing water. An ear flickered then and the large body moved; it took him a few minutes to find the den, but when he did, and he stood at the entrance, peering, Moo felt his world stop.
Cubs.
Blinking, he frowned, blocking the light from the cave, saying nothing.

Oh for the love of.... Shetani looked up as the one face she'd---well, she'd missed, for starters, and dreaded for another. The girl tensed a little, and then relaxed. Well it was done now.. there was no reason to deny it. The girl lowered her head to he meal and tore off a few mouthfuls, getting them down her starving gullet as she considered how to handle this.
"'allo dadday," Shetani said eventually, smiling up at her beloved father. "Oi'd ben missin' ye. Were 'ave ye ben?"

Oh, no no. As soon as the light in the cave had been hidden, Niruzu's eyes had drifted up towards the source that blocked it. For a moment, all he could do was stare, eyes wide and mouth slightly agape. He wasn't sure who the male was - but he was huge! Niruzu was a bit small for his age and even if that male hadn't been who he thought it was, he'd have been hard pressed to protect himself - let alone the cubs and Shetani. Despite his self centered disposition on most occasions, he'd have tried at the moment at least for the cubs sake if he thought that the male in the entrance was anyone other than Shetani's father.
Shetani's words came to him like a cold shock, affirming what he had guessed of the dark figure looming in the entrance of his cave. Their cave. In an instant, he had jumped up and shifted somewhat behind Shetani and farther into the cave. Hell, he had no issues with putting her in between himself and her father. He wouldn't trample her to get to him, he was sure, so she wasn't in any real harm. His only concern, for the moment, was his own safety and getting through the day without having his hide ripped off.
It wasn't like he had done this to her on purpose, and damn it if it wasn't just as much her fault as it was his own. He didn't ask for the cubs, but he was still here right? That had to count for something! Now he just needed Shetani to do what she said and keep her father from killing him because, damn it, that brute was huge!

Dark red eyes narrowed down as he watched the on going within the cave. For a moment it DID indeed look like the male was going to 'trample' into the cave and reach over his daughter for the male behind her. However, instead, he paused, closed his eyes and took a deep breath in, only to release it softly, "You," he rumbled at the male before turning around and stepping out of the cave, into the vegetation, "Out," as he left the entrance and padded down, he roared one last word, "NOW!" the birds that perched around the neighbouring trees spread their wings and threw themselves into a panicked flight at the thundering word, unsure if they were in any sort of danger from the large, black lion.
If anything, it was clear the male was not pleased; Moo wasn't really even bothering to hide it from the world around him. What was left to be seen was whether or not he was going to kill the male, or spare him. It was hard to tell, really.

He flinched visibly as the loud roar reached his ears, the appendages themselves flattening momentarily against his skull. He wasn't stupid - Niruzu was small from the harsh reality of the rogue life on a growing boy, and Shetani's father was large. He was very large. He knew he didn't stand a chance against him one on one, but what he tried to decide in that split moment was exactly what would keep him alive. Staying her curled around Shetani defiantly, while her father waited for any chance for them to separate to kill him? Or going out there and talking to him like the grown lion he was.
Really, though, Moo's anger decided that for him.
He let a small groan flow from his maw as he pushed himself away from Shetani and his new, suckling cubs (he was still having issues believing this). He cautiously made his way out of the cave, then down the narrow walk, following the hulking black form. He stopped once he was on the shore, his tail lashing in a fidgety manner. "I.." he began, but had to clear his throat, "it's not as bad as it looks." What a lame, stupid thing to say, but he felt the need to.. say something. Anything. This was his life on the line!

If anything, the smaller male's stampering words only caused him to frown further, "Follow me," that said, he turned around and padded away from the cave opening. On one hand, he could simply be leading the boy for a simple walk, intent on talking to him... on the other hand, he might be leading him away from the cave so that the cubs and their tired mother could not hear the screams of pain that would ensue. Again, it was hard to tell what Moo had in mind, for his expression was grim and he did not look all too happy about the current events.
As he padded, it was clear that he expected the other male to follow, for he never once turned around to make sure that Niruzu was tagging along. After a long moment of silence, during which Moo did nothing other than glower and pad, he finally growled, "You. Boy, what are you going to do about this? What are you going to do now?" the words were and the intonation of his voice made it clear that Nizuru's own future depended on his answer, (or rather how much of a future he'd have anyhow).

Niruzu grumbled noticeably as the lion made him walk farther from the cave. Not only was he having issues with trusting him, but he didn't really want to go that far from Shetani and the cubs he had, in all honesty, just met. As much of an a** as he tended to be, that didn't mean he wouldn't love them. Even if their mother was annoying to the point he often made up inventive ways to end her blabbering.
"What do you mean?" he asked with a scoff, staring at the lion's dark pelt as they padded along. "I'm going to take care of the runts, of course. I'm not stupid enough to think she can do it by herself." Well, it was Niruzu's way of admitting that he was going to take care of his cubs, and probably Shetani as well. It was just said in a very.. Niruzu-like fashion.

His answer promptly proved to be a double edged sword, for while it was no doubt what Moo wanted to hear, it was not worded in a way he found appropriate. The large male stopped walking and turned around to face Niruzu with a long, warning growl. His jaws opened and snapped shut a mere inch away from the smaller male's face, and it was clear that had he wanted to, Moo could have bitten the other male without much of a problem; he'd moved fast, blindingly so for such a large figure. All the time he'd spent fighting rogues for fun had proved handy and he was in good shape. Good enough shape that Niruzu would have stood absolutely no chance, "First off, don't call them 'runts', you bloody Runt. You want to take care of them, you're doing it correctly, and politely. Those 'runts' don't need to suffer for your obvious lack of control- BOTH your bloody lacks of control! If it weren't because I NEED you alive and healthy to take responsibility for your actions, I would make damned sure you'd never be able to bloody well HAVE another cub in your life."
Every word spoken carried a warning of what would and could happen if Niruzu so much as stepped over the line while Moo was around, "Not only are you going to care for those cubs, but you're going to teach them well and you're going to take care of my daughter as if you really do love her. I don't care if you do, or you don't. You will. And you'll do so politely. At least while I'm around!" he then drew back from the small male and glared at a nearby rock. Oh, he was wise enough to know it took 'two to tango', and he would be having a chat with his daughter soon enough too, "Blasted kids," he grumbled, "Can't seem to keep their parts to themselves. Pooping out cubs all over the place. Bloody hell."

He flinched, for what felt like the hundredth time in such a short period, backing away slightly from the jaws of the older lion. Oh, he understood that Moo was angry - he'd probably be just as angry over any other lion knocking up his daughter. He paused at that thought, a wave of reality hitting him hard. He did have a daughter now.
With a grimace, he pushed himself back up from his slightly crouched stance, ears lowered some. At least the big oaf knew that it wasn't entirely his fault - he wouldn't have ever gotten her pregnant if the brat hadn't seduced him! He was male, what was he supposed to do? He knew he hadn't been thinking. "Right," he murmured, flicking his tail, "don't call them runts, and be nice, got it." He wasn't sure about the 'being nice' part, but he could try.
"Shetani?" he asked skeptically, frowning at the thought of having to act like he loved her. Shetani would know if he acted anything other than himself all of a sudden, and he didn't particularly think she'd enjoy that. "I'm bloody well planning to take care of them, but I don't think she'd much appreciate me acting differently towards her all of a sudden. I don't really think she's the type to, uh, enjoy false niceties." He shrugged at this, though his tense stance said he was ready to leap away if the male snapped at him again. He did hear his grumbling though, and an irritable sigh passed from him.

"All of them, you bloody idiot!" he growled at the other male, "They're all your bloody responsibility now! You will love them all, or god damn it, /I/ will make you love them, you got that?" he paused just long enough to point a paw rather accusingly over at Niruzu, but no sooner had he stopped yelling that he brought the paw up to rub at the bridge of his nose, wincing somewhat, as if he could feel a huge headache coming around, "I don't care what you think, or what she thinks. Those brats will grow up happy, or I'll make you wish they were NEVER born, or YOU were never born, for that matter."
The words were growled with threat. Then the large male pointed off towards the distance, "Now go make yourself ******** useful and get back to your family. Or go find something to hunt. Either or. Just get out of my sight before I decide those kids will do just fine fatherless!" it was clear he was not bluffing either, and that he was very much considering stepping in to take charge unless the other male were to shut his mouth and run for it. The sooner the better.
This was all technicaly his fault though. He'd been so lax with Shetani's upbringing that the girl had grown up thinking she could get whatever she wanted.

"Fine, fine!" he grumbled back, though at this point he wasn't even sure the darker, older lion was making a whole lot of damn sense. Niruzu knew what was best for him and Shetani, and even if he didn't know to raise the bloody cubs, he would learn! He understood the threat though and dropped his eyes to the ground, letting a flood of emotion wash over him - fear, anger, mostly fear.
"I'm going," he muttered thickly, jaws set as he turned his back on the lion, though it took all his courage to do so. He didn't much trust him. With a unintelligible grumble, he picked up a trotting pace and headed back towards his den. He could feel his freedom slipping away from him with every little step, binds wrapping around his soul. Damn that she-devil of a lioness.
