Finally! The word raced through her mind with delight, at last he was grown and the change had come. Fiereza had felt the subtle pull the shadows whispering to her, they had a new force, a new master to obey. She had allowed open bright crimson eye to open and then the other and she had held back a howl of delight. Instead she had slipped off into the darkness and headed towards the two leggers.

Slinking about was her specialty and stealing from the two leggers came to her with the ease of skinning. She had taken a green token, green to match his eyes. How she loved to watch his eyes darken and lighten like the forest. She carried the stolen trinket in her mouth and slipped back home before the rays of dawn could touch her.

Fiereza headed towards him, Adolfo the master of shadows. She felt the little spikes of his ability as he grew, but now he was in truth a controller of the dark force. She slipped close hardly daring to breathe, now he would know as she approached.

Adolfo sat in his willow listening to everything going on around him. There was no longer a soft whisper that he had to strain his ears to hear, the shadows were talking to him as if they were another wolf. Emerald eyes became apparent as the ivory lids slid back from hiding them.

Adolfo no longer used the mud that had concealed him in the dark as a pup and in adolescence. The shadows moved around like a gentle breeze, unless something that was bright came into their domain, his domain. The sound of Fie coming back from the two-legger's pack.

Standing up, Adolfo figured it was probably best just to greet her, nothing better to work with conversation skills then a good greeting. Spying the gleam of her crimson eyes coming closer towards his tree, he gave a slight smile, but spotted something dangling from her maw.

"Morning, Fie," he warmly greeted the other shadow lurker. Although he had became more aware of others that moved around in the shadows, more specifically the pregnant Twist.

Fiereza grinned as she spotted him and sat down before him the jade pendant swung in her jaws. She slowly moved closer and set it down before him nudging it forward. "I brought this for you...I wanted to congratulate you...I could feel the shadows. It would seem you've managed to reach that proper peak." She sat down and glanced around enjoying the sensation.

"Oh yes, they do love you..." Her ears flickered and she bowed her head a moment in silence. Slowly she lifted her gaze again and glanced at the pendant. "I hope you like it, the green...it fails to match your eyes...but perhaps nothing could ever quite match them." She sighed.

"Still...I wanted to be the first to bestow something to the master of shadows...even if no one else recognizes it...I do...and I thank you for what you've done to aid me."

Looking down at the gift, Adolfo couldn't help but look back up to Fie. She was working hard on being a better wolf and this was an admirable trait Adolfo found the most compelling about the skinner.

"Well, thank you Fiereza, that is truly kind of you," he looked at the jade pendant on the twine necklace and turned up the corner of his maw in a smile, "No, I don't think anything can really match the color of eyes, but the thought is was counts."

With that said, he looked back up to Fie, "Mind holding it up for a second for me to slid it on?"

His ears perked forward at her words, "We still have a long way to go, but you're a very pleasant companion Fie, hopefully you would stay around here even after you have reached the peak you're looking for." His tail wagged at the prospect.

Fie lifted the pendant and helped slip it over Adolfo's neck letting it fall lightly against his chest. She smiled and tilted her head "It suits you..." She grinned and eyed him a long moment her gaze sliding down the contours of his body taking in the subtle hint of muscles beneath the fur. She enjoyed the slight way the shadows clung to him wispy in her vision, for once she did not picture how his coat would look separated from the rest of him.

A soft smile crossed her muzzle at his words and for a moment her heart sped up. With a light nod and tip of her muzzle she slid to lay down in her usual pose, her legs tucked under her and her tail curled tight against her body to blend into the darkness. "If you would have me I do believe I would be content to remain with you...I am eager to see what the shadows will whisper now that you control them." She let out a soft laugh her eyes flicked over his wagging tail and her own gave a slight thump of emotion.

Ahh emotion, she felt them now happiness, the calm that came even without a kill, the anger that came when she denied herself from skinning her dinner, and the pleasure the strange welling she felt near Adolfo, and jealousy this one was the dangerous one. Fiereza seemed to have a knack for jealousy and it made her violent the way she had been before, instead of the cold calculated kills though she found herself wanting to destroy and skin for victory. She had a hard time telling the difference between a spike of jealousy and a spike of protectiveness for they both seemed so similar to her. This too she would learn in time though, for now it was enough to simply be near Adolfo and steadily learn these feelings, explore them and share them.

As the pendant was slipped over his muzzle the ivory ears flickered back, so not to imped and prevent the twine from sliding down upon his neck. The soft thud of the pendent falling down on his chest was like an ok sign to shake the ruffled fur, and any that had came loose with the thinning of the winter coat.

Loose hair flew up into the air and the necklace settled down as if it had always been there. The shadows liked it even, for now they didn't just have ivory and ebony fur to make their master, they had a jade necklace that was a reflection of his inner abilities.

Sitting back down, in front of Fie and at the entrance of his willow's branches, his own ivory colored tail wrapping around his left side as Fie spoke. He shook with a silent chuckle, "Fiereza, by now I would have figured you would realize I don't speak anything I don't mean. So yes, by all means stay and if nothing else find out what the shadows say." He hadn't yet told Fie about how they no longer whispered, well they didn't when he was demanding information, but talked openly to him.

Looking towards the direction of the border leading towards the cliffs, Adolfo turned to pay attention to the sound of a small deer family moving through the trees. Turning one of his eyes to peer at his day companion, Adolfo gave another soft smile.

Though she appeared to be going through a list in her mind, Adolfo couldn't help but ask, "Want to join me in a hunt?"

Fiereza gazed at Adolfo a long moment and a soft smile played over her muzzle. She dipped her muzzle her ears flicking and her tail finally starting to wag in pleasure. "A joint hunt...I have never hunted alongside another...it would be an honor." She stood slowly and shook off her pelt blended in with the darkness perfectly but for her ivory paws and crimson eyes.

Her nose twitched and she closed her eyes "Venison..." She licked her lips. "the coat is a bit bristly...but uhh.." She chuckled and flushed. "The meat would be delicious..."

Adolfo's tail wagged alomost just absently when he saw she was agreeing to hunt along side of him. He hadn't hunted with another since him and Wazaam hunted squirrels and raccoons together as pups. Or as the two boys hunted their ambusher sisters.

"Well then it will be a bit of fun for the both of us. Especially since we have never hunted with one another either, but we hold the upper hand already. We can see the buckskin hides perfectly in the dark, as for our pelts are perfect for the night concealing us." At the slight brag of the two pelts, though they both had a nice ivory top, the shadows also worked against the duo's prey.

"Do you want to be the flusher out, or the one to strike the killing blow?" This had to be worked out now, before the pair moved on the hunt, but Adolfo could already taste the warm meat of the deer mixing with the crimson juices in well directed bites.

Fiereza grinned and nodded softly at his words, they did indeed blend into the shadows well together, what little splashes of white appeared on their pelts were lost when they moved together. She dipped her muzzle a serene joy in her eyes, for once it was not the pleasure of a skin that enticed her but the knowledge that she would move and share the night with Adolfo.

"The pleasure of the kill should be yours, I will flush out or cut your choice from the herd...I have a pelt that will work in effect with such a task." She grinned at the image of Adolfo taking the quick strike from the shadows, what a magnificent sight she would get to see this evening.

His tail swayed behind him, he saw this night as one that would be fun. It would be the first hunt with Fie and it would be interesting in the least.

"Alright, but you pick the one that seems the best, and I promise not to damage the pelt too much, that way you can skin it, if you want." Adolfo gave a warm smile to Fie, one similar to the smile that he gives Vianna, "Well let's get the herd moving." The emerald eyes sparked with a bit of odd mischief.

Fie gave a quick nod, for a moment the spark in his eyes stole her breath and she allowed a smile to play on her muzzle in return. Her usually cold calculating eyes illuminated with a fire that Fie wasn't certain she knew how to contain, but it's warmth was worth the risk. She slid off into the darkness quickly exchanging her current pelt for a darker deer one. The scent and color would help her to slip among the herd and cause them to rush, she could pluck out a plump choice for Adolfo to take down.

With graceful gliding speed she moved downwind and managed to slide right up near the deer. She flicked her gaze quickly to ensure Adolfo was ready and then looked back to take her pick of the herd she was carefully mingling around.

Seeing the smile on Fie's face actually some how complemented her features, even the shadows thought so. But the moment she moved and exchanged her pelt for a darker deer one, Adolfo moved to a place that would be a perfect channel for the deer to stampede through.

The shadows came to him and swirled around him, concealing not only his frame, but also his scent. The male was completely out of sight and lying in wait for the moment Fie chased them towards him.

With care she moved along following the swaying gentle pattern of the deer herd, she had learned to blend with each pelt and though often her size was different she was adept at wearing 'sheeps' clothing and fitting in quite nicely with the sheep. She let her eyes roam around the herd picking out choices and eliminating others. Her gaze flicked a moment to Adolfo before flicking back to a young stag, young but injured if they didn't take him out of the herd nature herself would see to the task. He would make a large fine meal and the injury at his side would allow Adolfo to grab his neck while Fie baited him and pushed him from the herd.

She jumped then leapt at her target after giving Adolfo a look to convey her intent. All it took was her fluid movement to set the herd racing away, but her target leapt back away from the safety of the group and Fie ignored the deer stampeding past her to push him further out towards Adolfo. She dodged and ducked effectively as dangerous slicing hooves came within inches. For a moment a doe kicked out and Fie jumped forward she felt the slightest impact, the hoof had cut the pelt, but not her own flesh. Still such a trivial thing did not concern her, soon the rest of the herd was almost gone and the stag was still kicking and sidestepping in an attempt to get Fie away. Her eyes flicked to Adolfo for only a bare second the signal for him to come and take the kill.

Adolfo watched with Fie move with great interest, his emerald eyes sweeping over her as she stalked out a choice kill in the throngs of the 'sheep'. His heart beat at a steady calm pace and for the first time in a long time, he was just thinking of Fie, he had no thought of Vianna in his mind at all or thought of food.

The shadows agreed with this unspoken thought, and in the moment she singled out that injured buck he flushed out a wall of shadows to channel the stag towards him. However, one was jerked out of it's formation as his emerald eyes caught the flailing motion of a doe aiming a swift kick at Fie.

In mer seconds he saw the sharp cloven hoof sink into the deer hide Fiereza herself wore, but before the scent of the she-wolf's blood could be smelt, he snapped the doe's leg with a shadowy arm. The doe lumbered off and he then noted Fie's signal.

Like the shadows themselves he swept down and lunged out at the stag's neck. Sharp fangs punctured the neck, warm blood trickled over his muzzle and down his throat. They had made a swift hit on this kill, and using the shadows to slide inside the fang marks, he severed the arteries inside the neck.

Dropping the meat out of his jaws, Adolfo's first question was, "Are you alright?" and his emerald eyes moved to the cut on the pelt.

Triumph! Fiereza let the herd pass as she walked to Adolfo's side where the stag bled out into the fresh green grass. She grinned and sat beside him glancing over her shoulder at the slices open hide. It hurt, but she knew it would be alright, the pain would fade and be gone within a few days. Her eyes roamed over the stags pelt.

"You were magnificent! I'm fine...I should have been more careful, I'll replace it with this hide though." She smiled at Adolfo and moved over to lick his muzzle clean of blood. Her side throbbed behind her shoulder, but she was so pleased with the hunt she ignored the pain. Fiereza watched him with glittering eyes thrilled that he had asked after her health and thrilled at how well they had worked together. She inhaled and smiled at the mingled scents of cool shadow and warm blood. "What a perfect night...a perfect hunt."
